Emergency Button

Define a phone number and/or an email address and whenever you press the big red button, the distress signal will be sent out to these recipients along with your GPS/Network location (a google maps link) and a personalized message.
If you or a loved one ever walk through a dark alley, travel abroad or just need to alert someone of your whereabouts
- this button will simplify explaining exactly where you are. Help can come faster and within GPS accuracy.

Emergency Button will only work if you're in a place with reception to at least send the SMS text message or email.

The widget can be added to your homescreen by home->menu button->add->Widgets->Emergency. The widget has 2 buttons and you have to press both within 5 seconds to make the app fire the distress signal. The double button is designed to minimize false positives.

None of your information is stored or saved by Andluck. This project is open source (BSD) and hosted on google code: http://code.google.com/p/emergencybutton/ so you can see exactly what's inside if you wish.

only 1 email address and 1 sms alert for free is NOT ENOUGH (there re plenty of other apps out there with more than that for free). Keeps on running on the background consuming RAM. GPS address wrong by 500 mts. what about giving me emergency numbers of different countries and alerts also for g+, facebook, twitter, etc.

Should definitely bring back the previous version of a two button tap activation, that version had the right design as the idea is to be able to activate quickly during an emergency - this new design has too many prompts (before sending a message) which defeats the purpose of an emergency button altogether. The two button design was what made it better than other emergency apps available, this new design has lost that advantage and has made it just like all the other apps. The screenshot still shows a two-button activation widget - which is misleading.

In Case of EMERGENCY CONTACT as no need to use contact list, quick and easy one touch.. Also good as can speak to doctors or people with you, and explain what they need to do to make you better., and treat you. However option to add extra Alarm number/contact don't work.

It works but I am unable to add more than one contact, I need to add multiple contacts. If this was an option I would pay for it.

Great. A two-click widget for my wife to use in a crisis. It satisfies the golden rule of KIS (keep it simple).

SERIOUS ERROR The time is local, not UTC as stated. OTHER Like many others, I would like to be able to send the message to more than one destination. John

Can't read text message after it is entered. The text box window is less than one line tall.

I just wish it'd send it's messages without me needing to go through prompts. I want to hit one button once & that's it.

Hope to never need it, but what a great little app. Tested it and it works great. I would highly recommend this app.

Great app. I do miss the simple two button push from main screen... New confirmation pop up takes too much time. Update was downgrade IMO.

Is the SMS free of charge

A. G. u. Sep 8, 2012

Nice idea, but the sending itself seems to be too slow, due to delay spent on "Do you want to enable GPS?" and its powering on. I propose to send email/SMS twice: first time with approximate coordinates (based on cell stations) - this should take not more than 2 seconds, second time with real GPS coordinates (takes up to 30 seconds on my device). Or at least make this behavior tunable. 10x

Great app to have

Needs more than one contact to send message to (at no cost)

best

Seem to work fine. One click functionality is great. I wish the two widget buttons were a single larger button, and could indicate a message in process.

I need to be able to set sender email address instead of using application's email. It is a privacy issue. Hope you understand.
