EMMA - LIBRO DE JANE AUSTEN GRATIS EN ESPAÑOL

Emma is a comic novel written by Jane Austen, in English, published for the first time in 1815 by the publisher A. Bertrand, on the dangers of misinterpreting romance. The main character, Emma Woodhouse, is described in the first paragraph as "beautiful, smart and rich" but she is also quite spoiled. Before starting the novel, Austen wrote, "I'm going to catch a heroine who, except me, will not like it very much."

Emma Woodhouse is a young woman in the England of the Regency. He lives with his father, a hypochondriac characterized mainly by his excessive concern for the health and well-being of those he loves. Miss Woodhouse is determined to act as matchmaker for her friendships and relationships. But when dealing with the affairs of her friends she forgets to attend to her own feelings. Emma's friend, and the only person who criticizes her, is the gentlemanly Mr. Knightley, her "neighbor" and brother-in-law (brother of her sister's husband), sixteen years older than her.
