Empower Retirement

Absolutely useless! A lot of work needs to be done to enhance this app to be user friendly. I log onto the account & the fingerprint will not let me activate because I don't have the correct password. Obviously if I logged into my account it's correct. It worked before, then kept sending me text to "verify" I was logging into my account. This app is useless!

This app is a busted, unresponsive mess. What's more frustrating is that you must download this app to access your information, empower retirement doesn't even have a website anymore. It takes you to a link to download this absolute garbage app. I have two separate accounts through Empower, before I can access either one the app asks which I would like to default to when logging in. I select one, click continue and the app does nothing. Uninstalled, reinstalled and tried again. Still broken.

The app keeps on crashing every time I try to login and when I do login I get about halfway down the page and it crashes and exits out of that. Completely horrible. Horrible app. Like a lot of the others. This app needs a lot and I mean a lot of work. Hell My brother could do this app in his sleep. The developer. I'm not so sure if they even knew what they were doing

App works great overall. The app runs quickly and efficiently, however, it could use a bit more detailed info. Other than that its very functional, it's easy to use and easy to understand. I recently jumped on the app and figured it out very quickly.

I can't get even begin to use the app. I'm trying to sign in, and it just says "signing in" and never goes any farther. Useless to me in the current state. This would not be so infuriating if there were an alternative way of accessing accounts, but the company website seems to simply funnel you to its non-functional app.

My job has a 401k through these guys. And I gotta say...not sure it was a wise decision given that their website apparently doesn't exist anymore. The person doing printouts *really* needs to get on top of that. Besides this, I can't even sign in to the app no matter what I try. What good is a retirement plan service if their app and/or website is so broken it can't even be logged into?

Seriously the worst experience I've ever had to deal with. Trying to get my moms retirement paid out after her passing. I've had to fax the info 8 times cause apparently they just can't receive it. So I upload it to the app then the picture is "to dark to read" when it's clear as day on my end cause it was taken under a lamp at my desk. I add 2 more lamps and now in limbo so see if it's even readable. Seriously never dealing with these fools ever again...

I'm experiencing the same negative experience as everyone else on here. Before being forced to download the app, I always switched to Desktop View instead of Mobile View because you could easily see everything you needed to see. Now, with this app, I can not stay logged in long enough to see anything before the app signs me back out.

I use this app for my 401k and since it is through work, I did not get to choose it. I will often open it just for it to crash or go in to see how my investments are doing, but thw feature is so buggy I cannot tell. It will give you a graph that never displays or won't show accurately. I cannot see my ROR despite my funds being invested. On the surface it looks nice, but too many of the features are broken or buggy. It needs some major reworks before it will be helpful.

Terrible app that freezes, crashes, and doesn't save user information. You literally can't have the app open for half a minute before it crashes. You can't scroll to the bottom. I used the web page forever but they will no longer let you open the website via mobile. Only the app. If you're going to make us use the app you could at least hire competent people to make it user friendly.

This app sucks. It showed that I changed my password, which I didn't. So it wouldn't let me login with fingerprint. I tried a few more times I finally logged in. While I was speaking with a representative, it crashed while I am looking at it. I believe that it was retreaving data in the background but it failed. Please use try catch. Google how to do it for Android. I have enough with this sucker.

The website was better. This app doesn't work for paying off in full your loan. This app has no way to change the amounted investing. This app freezes everytime you view the loan details, so annoying. Please bring back the website or add all the features to the empower app.

The app doesn't work properly at all. When uploading documents it says their too big and wrong format, etc. When u call all they say is use the app. Its like a game to them. Someone should assist us! This is my own information and i cant access it. Fix this app or enable your employees to assist us better on the phone

HORRIBLE Crashes EVERY TIME I LOG IN. Worthless. Just set up my account and can't even stay in it long enough to navigate around. There is no where to establish settings--or if there is, I get kicked out before I can even find it. It's RIDICULOUS. Developers might want to get to work on fixing this bug. Because this app is WORTHLESS.

Makes me receive a text every time I sign in even after selecting "Remember this device." Then it crashes after about 20 seconds. I'll just check on my computer. So glad my employer goes through a company so cheap and inept that they can't make a functioning app or at least offer a mobile website experience. Instead they force you to download an app that doesn't work. Excellent.

Terrible app, unless you like logging in repeatedly, and not being able to see all of your information. If we are forced to use the app, at least make it so we can see all of the information on the website version. And please let us flip between apps without having to log back in every time we flip back! This is the worst financial services app I've ever used.

It's ok but a little clunky and basic. On the login screen it gives an option for fingerprint login in. It says to log in and then set it up but once you log in there are no settings. Also the "loan" part of the app locks up & won't return to the main menu. While the layout is nice the program itself needs a little work. Until then I'll just log in using my computer. As for Empower, have not had any issues with this company they have been pretty good and have some nice investment options.

Forced to download and use this app as they got rid of logging in to the website. App takes forever to log in, then once it does you have just long enough to see your balance before it crashes. If by some miracle you have long enough to click on something it then crashes forcing you to log back in again which won't matter since it just crashes again. It's been doing this a couple weeks and still hasn't been fixed. Not sure why in 2022 a large company can't figure out a simple app.

This application can not have quality control. Everytime they add "features" they create bugs. The latest "feature" (bug) is when you scroll down and hit the bottom the app shutsdown. I have nicely reported issues or data that was wrong ( wrong data on a financial app is unbelievable to me) they responded once. They said their new version can give me the data it used to give me easier in an older version; when I pointed out the numbers were completely wrong, they never responded again.

Forced to use an unreliable app. Having no other way to access my accounts using my phone, I downloaded the mandatory app to use. After access my account the program crashes and closes. It does this continuously. If you are going to force people to download an app to access their account, at least make sure the app isn't loaded with software glitches that make it crash.

Edit: A month later and they still haven't fixed these issues. So now you can't log in online, it just takes you to the app page. The app freezes and you can't click on any of the details, as soon you go into the loan section you have no choice but to close the app. This sucks I want the online version back so I can see my details....

HORRIBLE! Constantly crashing.... not the same information as a web version.... Constantly having to re enter my password Constantly locking me out this app is the worst ever don't waste your time downloading it

Garbage app. Just shows you a condensed version of the regular online site. You can't even make any changes or really do anything at all on it except see your not so current account overview. It's so much better just using their actual website.

If you're using a mobile browser with a "request desktop site" feature (like firefox), just use that and forego downloading this junk. It doesn't have all of the features their full website does, and you'd be lucky to have it open for more than 30 seconds without crashing. Why companies stopped developing mobile websites in favor of half-baked apps is beyond me...

This app always has login issues...I put in correct email and password......on the of that it asks for zip last name and bithdate...and it still doesn't recognize me. Gives you 3 attempts... for correct info....very frustrating

This is not user friendly. I preferred the website to check my 401K and loan balance. It kicks you out if you scroll to the bottom if main page. It freezes when you try to look at payment history/schedule or try to look at your loans. I know my review will not change anything, since this has been an issue since the app was released and others are having the same issue.

Most of the time, trying to use this app gets me locked out of my account. Cant really answer any of the questions about it because I either cant login, or its not working right if a miracle occurs and I do get logged in. Most of the time it simply hangs while trying to login, so you make a couple more attempts, it still does not work, then it locks your account for 24 hours with no way around it. Extremely frustrating.

I've yet to be able to log into my account, which is completely wild to me. The website was super easy to use, and it never gave me trouble when I wanted to log in. Why change to being an app only company with an app that doesn't work? It's hard wanting to check on your 401k and the path you want it to go, but not being able to.

Literally will not let me log into my account at all because I am using the "incorrect" password. But if I log in via my computer it works fine. I hate that it will only let me log in via the app and I can't use a internet browser to access my account on my phone.

It worked fine before but as of this year, it continuously crashes after a few seconds to minutes. So much for convenience within an app. I may have to view my account from a computer for now unless this bug gets fixed. This is a widespread issue. See other reviews.
