would give 5 stars but often it bugs out and I can never start the damn app. when I reinstalled it forgot that I had played for the premium version... nice edit: Even after contacting support it has only gotten worse. I tried reinstalling but it did nothing outside of losing my premium status and the staff are useless in fixing it. Oh and I discovered they charged me an extra $6 for the 2 month version. Nice!
Used this app to help study during EMT school and to study for the NREMT. Was great for both. My favorite feature is the explanation option at the end of each question. It usually goes into excellent detail of why the correct answer is right, and why the wrong ones aren't. I also find it really helpful that it gives the page number where the answer can be found in the textbook that my school used (Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured 11th ed.)
Great app for learning when I have downtime. Answer explanations at the end of each question is great for understanding why the answer is correct. Don't know if this is a bug or not but quick 10 questions won't let you keep guessing anymore so you have one shot to get the answer and you move on.
I'm giving this app 2 stars because I like the questions and also when it does in fact work, it works great but most of the times it doesn't work. I've had this app for about a month now, the first week I wasn't using it and I had no issues. I bought the premium and started using it and about a week later it stopped working on my android phone. I had to open the play store app and look up this app then it give me a option to open it from there. I had to reinstall 2 times in 2 weeks.
This is an amazing study guide to help you pass the NREMT. I used this consistently before my test and it helped me feel confident going into my test. The questions are a little more in detail and a little harder then the real test which is good because it makes the real thing a breeze. I give this app a lot of credit for helping me pass in 70 questions. 10/10 would recommend.
Pocket Prep is a very good app for comprehension and to review concepts. It did not help me pass the nremt. The NREMT is a computerized test and while in a similar format to PP I felt the questions were more direct and asked at random (ex. I was asked about the proper communication model (facilitation, clarification, etc)). I was also asked about renal failure vs terminal renal failure. I never ran across any practice PP questions like this. I have the 24.99 version. Good luck!!!
During exams the answer is always the fourth choice. I have unistalled and reinstalled countless times. I notified customer support and was only told that they are aware of the issue. It's pointless using an app when the answer is always the last choice.
The explanations and questions are great! The app is, however, VERY limited unless you pay for premium access. I feel like I ran through practice quizzes very quickly before being notified that I've now hit the limit and must pay to continue.
The first time I took my exam I failed, I definitely wasn't prepared. Someone recommended this app to me and I just took my national exam for the 2nd try yesterday and passed at 70 questions! I love the feature that explains every answer and even goes into to depth of the wrong answers and what they would indicate. I 100% recommend!
So this app is very helpful in practicing knowledge and helping with skills (I passed the NREMT!) However, to compare it to the NREMT exam is a false comparison. The national exam is much more vague and oddly non-specific in their line of questioning. Even though I passed I'm going to keep using this to practice and have already gotten their Paramedic app too!
Amazing app! I reccomend paying for the premium to get all you can out of this app, it really helps! I passed the NREMT using this app and a few other sources. Do practice tests every chance you get if you want to pass. Getting familiarized with testing helped the most, even more than studying the book and notes. Although the books and notes help.
Great way to study for your NREMT. I pretty much only used this app in the weeks leading up to registry (after taking my EMT course) and passed on my first go around. The question format here is very similar to what you can expect to see on the real thing. I would recommend paying the full amount to get access to all the questions, worth the price!
Some information seems to not be in line with current NREMT info, also I closed the app and it erased all my recorded progress in terms of the practice questions I'd already done. Decent tool other than those things, wish I hadn't bought the paid version of it though
I took my NREMT on 1/3/21 and passed the first time. This is a great app to use to prepare for the NREMT test. I did come across a few questions that had the wrong answers, so if you feel you chose the correct answer, I would research the question. I would highly recommend it. The only issue I have is it is very hard trying to figure out how to cancel the app so that you do not continue to get charged for it.
Pocket Prep deemed to be exactly what I needed to pass the NREMT exam on the 1st try. This was the only material I used to prepare for the test (other than EMT school, of course) and I felt confident going into the test. This is a great study tool when combined with your regular curriculum. I HIGHLY recommend!
I have previously purchased this app, and am an emt-b. I redownloaded to study for recertifcation exam. The app did not restore my purchases and i was stuck on the free version despite previously purchasing the full version. The free version only has 35 questions total. Absolute garbage. Do not buy.
I just passed the NREMT 1st try. Pocket prep is addicting and informative. My instructors at EMT Utah told me to get the full version. It's cheaper than the $80 to retest NREMT. Keep at it. You'll often find out things that you didnt know & where your focus of study needs to be. When using this app I recommend having your Emergency Care & Transportation Of The Sick & Injured book infront of you because for every question in the app they provide explinations & page references. Good luck! ⚕👌
Scared about you NREMT test? Get this app and study with it! Several of us from my EMT class used this hard to study for the NREMT and we definitely felt it prepared us for it! There was even a question or so on the NREMT that I remembered seeing on this app. If you get a question wrong it gives you the explanation so you can study and quiz at the same time. Thanks so much pocket prep! Passed on my 1st time!
Good app. The questions on this study exam were significantly easier than the questions asked on the NREMT exam I had taken. This is on par with a number of state level tests for EMTs but the actual test has a lot heavier basis of pathophysiology. This app definitely helped with the priority type questions and general knowledge though.
Up to date material, super convenient when normal textbook is too bulky or unavailable. Check it out, it could be the difference between passing and not🤙
Definitely helped me pass the NREMT. I am working as an EMT and still use it to keep my skills and knowledge fresh. The questions are a little more straightforward than NREMT questions but they are referenced from the DOT textbook, and explanations are very thorough.
After passing the NREMT on my first try this past Friday, I have gained the utmost confidence in this app. I actually had seen a few questions that were very familiar due to this app. I used this daily aside EMT-B Prep and found PocketPrep to be more structured to the NREMT exam than the others app. This is a must have app. I plan on continuing to use this app to continue my knowledge base!
100% reccomend this app to anyone who is taking their EMT test soon. I made sure I had at least an 80% in each category. I used this app after failing the test the first time. Passed it after using this.
Back in August of 2019 I purchased both the classic and premium and that cost $40. I just logged in since then and now it's saying I only have a free account. Would definitely love to get my premium back considering I spent that 25 dollars
Not using for exam prep, just refresher to maintain knowledge, but format and UI are great, explanations are clear. Considering purchase just because it's a great app.
A good resource to build a knowlege base for the exam. The questions are more straightforward and simpler than what's on the exam. Nonetheless, it helped me answer some of the trickier questions, and I passed in 70.
Lack of customization options is my complaint. Ill be handling my phone often and it will think I chose one of the options while taking a quiz and it will mark it wrong. I couldnt add the option to include a confirm button. I started clicking any answer to get through the quiz real quickly so that I could re-take it to more accurately reflect the correct score and it kept documenting those scores as part of my average which is now completely off. The important thing though is the practice.
