I was looking for an alternative to Google Play as an option to upload and stream my own library. A former emusic subscriber, I was totally jazzed to jump back on board. It's good but could be so much better. Both the app and streaming via website have their problems. Biggest is speed - searching My Music and initial playback are slow to start. Mobile streaming is slow as well and often a little clunky. The interface is nice and simple but navigating the library is slow as well. But hopeful 🤞
I've been looking for a service like this and eMusic really satisfied all my wishes. The app design is clean and modern and the music streaming quality is great. Online uploads are the most important feature for me and I love that eMusic allows that as well. Really satisfied with this app. Hope it stays this way and improves further.
It's a nice app. Searching for genres could be easier. The search function does take time to get used to. It can be confusing if you are not sure if you are searching YOUR music or the music in the store. It's easy to not find something only to realise you are searching the wrong part of the database.
Mostly, this a BRILLIANT app. Well done! It's the best I know to stream my music collection from the cloud. The cloud is unlimited with uploads, and it is fairly priced. It's beautifully designed, and the GUI is intuitive and efficient. However... ...it consumes a lot of battery life. ...artwork is cropped and and pixelated, on the playback screen, despite album art is 800x800 ...it can be a bit unresponsive on my old phone. ...on various artist albums, it changes the ARTIST metadata to ALBUM ARTIST metadata during playback. Also, I wish the the desktop browser version was as good, with gapless playback and a playback queue.
This app serves my emusic needs well. Downloads files if you want, so you can access offline, though it would be nice if I could move the download folder to my SD card. I have discovered hundreds of artists and albums through emusic over the years.
I have always been a member of emusic since their inception and I have purchased TONS of music from them. Throughout the years, as changes have happened with the company, somehow my collection is not SO VAST as it used to be (my expectations are the music purchased should still be on their servers and I should still have access to what I purchased) However I digress, I will rate the app: it's a good app, I can upload music and sound quality is excellent.
The App is OK, but it is the selection of Country music available from eMusic is very. very limited. Also, almost all of the Country releases that were available less than 1 year ago when I added them to my Wish List are No Longer Available today when I went back to buy some on my list. Grrrrr
It's very useful app, thanks for created it. I'm using it for manage playlist for coffeshop, where me employed. But there is one bug. I actually can't sign up with email, app crush instantly every time I taping email or password fields in sign in window. Well i can use Google account, but here another quirck. I have few accounts, and when i click Google sign in, it's automaticly choose my privat account. I had delete privat account, so then choosing accounts become available. Anyway, thanks👍
indy's rule years ago (2006) i joined emusic. the plan was 40 downloads for $10. a good deal. then emusic started new plans, the independents were forgotten, not such a good deal. i recently became reacquainted with the service and i like what i see. the phone app is certainly a bonus
subscriber since 2001, when it was $9.99 per month, unlimited downloads. It should be mentioned that this was prior to broadband connections, so a typical album would download over the course of hours, but it was still good. I'm very happy with emusic.
I have been a subscriber to emusic for over a decade. I am overall very satisfied with the selection, quality and services rendered. The only reason I didnt give the app a 5 star rating is because the emusic app seems so far to be unlinkeable to other devices/speakers such as Alexa and Sonos.
Not that a great selection. Mostly just a page with the band pic and a short essay on the band/s with the same name. This used to be great but it's gone down with it's music selection.
If anybody is still having problems with incorrect or missing album art, in the android app settings clear the cache for the emusic app. That fixes it. Same for Chrome, clear the cache and then refresh the page.
Great app, helped me to get rid finally of youtube with all it's trash ads. No bugs, works smoothly, free version completely enough for keeping personal music collection and accessing it from pc and phone. High five to developers!
Horrible! Sometime ago eMusic was re-branded and I lost my entire catalog, EN. TI. RE. catalog. I don't recommend this service. Stick to Google Play Music or Amazon Music. After years my catalog is still with them. Don't fall for the CHEAP prices. You get what you pay for! Simple!
Lots of great bands are available and I have listened to bands that I otherwise would not have thanks to eMusic. I do wish that eMusic were able to keep offering some bands' music in the future even after they become more popular.
I have used eMusic off and on for quite a while. What I have liked most in the past was the breadth of genres. That seems to be less so in the current iteration, but the app is still very useful.
Currently cannot recommend this app. Having problems signing in, even after uninstalling then reinstalling. Then very slow to load my purchase history, and not yet managed to check my account, currently frozen whilst I consider whether to remain a customer. Think that decision has been made. Shame 😕
Fair.... sometimes I find a few gems, however jazz artists who are not world famous (yet) and have at least 5+ albums out- either care not to contract with you or you are not aware of them! Every month for the last 3 years I have been looking for Artists (which are too many to name) from my discovery of them in Jazz Times or Spotify, and my search on Emusic comes up empty.
No selection of music, everything is old and random. Used to be great for finding interesting new music, not worth it now.
Great app. Is it possible to rotate the app screen to landscape? Sure would make it easier to use when dash-mounted in my car...
great but need an option to upload manually, and web version are so slow then mobile version, i mean mobile version no buffering at all but at web version so slow at streaming, please fix this, and please make account for an artist more easily then current method, thanks.
Glad eMusic has a good mobile app. Now I just wish they'd update and expand their music selection like they've been promising for the last 5+ years.
Made an old raver very happy after yrs of searching in vain for sets I'd liked here are most of them! I'm literally in music heaven. And even started tapping me foot again, so bring on the lockdown I'll party all the way thru it. Thanks Emusic.
Yep, the album art is all messed up, but then it's gone wrong on the website too. Wish it was easier to search for music in the store - why do I have to press an additional button to stop it searching my music first, every single time. The app is workable though, pity the catalogue halves in size every few months. Update - Got a message from emusic saying the album art issue was fixed. It isn't.
