This is a great app if you're interested in learning how to code and like something that you can jump in and out of. I reported an issue with the app and developers fixed it within the week. Highly recommend!
Wrong answers. I have screenshot because I thought I was going crazy, I type EXACTLY what is needed and the app marks me wrong. I press 'show answer' and then do EXACTLY that just to check it's not me and it still says it's wrong. Ridiculous.
Free, this app is great, although the explanations for why stuff works the way it does, and the number of examples you can do, are pretty light. I paid for the pro version after a while and am not convinced it's value for money yet - sure, fewer ads, but the bonus content isn't that much better for what I've paid. Would be great to have more extensive examples and more room to be creative with the techniques you get taught.
I bought the pro version and am loving it so far. However, I wish there were indicators on the home screen for what lessons you've completed so you didn't have to check each individual lesson. Also, a blank page to experiment with the ideas you're learning would be nice. None of these things take away from the experience, they'd just be appreciated additions. Great app, especially for the price! You get your money's worth for sure, I'm learning a lot.
I love it! it's easy to understand and easy to learn. nothing else to say but.. AMAZING!😍🤩
python is the easiest to learn, done it in 2- 3 days
Really Useful App for Beginners Even Without Premium Subscription we Can Access Many Useful Lessons
Pretty smooth experience, with savy commentary and minimalist approach. The contentsm consist of hands on examples/assignments, which I enjoy. I have some previous theoretical knowledge about programming, so this app's lack of theory makes the experience smoother. It's a freemium app, so need to purchase a pro subscription in order to access the advanced content. The free part of the content is nonetheless very useful for getting the jist of Python in a Doulingo for programming fashion
I went to college for programming but got a job in a different field an recently decided I wanted to get back into programming so I am using Encode to refresh my skills, practice, and expand my knowledge and I am very impressed. Very intuitive app, simple but very functional user interface, no functional issues so far, clear and concise instruction for using app and learning. Definitely worth using. Use this if you are in school for programming, wish I had used it!
It feels like most of the time the first 1-2 lessons in each section are already answered. There doesn't seem to be any test-out of sections if you don't have the pro version. In comparison to sololearn, this falls short.
Great app for the beginning coder. Going to school for web develooment soon and this has been a great app to get in the groove of beginning code. i do wish there were more free lessons, it only took a few days to go through the whole thing and I was trying to really take my time with it. Maybe soon Ill be able to afford to grab the pro version and try those lessons as well. It is a great app though with a very impressive compiler built in to help you start up or give you a brain refresher on code
The app is a great, it covers alot yet easy to use
Great and simple way to learn the basic language of coding. Always wanted to learn to code, but I'm always quite busy. This works great because it's simple and you can pick up wherever you left off right away. Pro is worth it if you want some extra exercises and some extra info.
Very helpful for formulating a basic understanding of code. Has a solid middle-ground between holding your hands and letting you learn on your own. Humor keeps the experience fun and enjoyable. Pro option is completely optional. Big thumbs up.
absolutely love this app. all though I wish it had lua to learn as that's what I want to learn the most, as I need it for a game I'm working. I will give 5 stars once it's added. But all in all its fun to use and plan on buying the full app since its only 5 dollars and not a subscription base plan. FYI please don't make it a subscription base app. it ruins apps in mine and I'm sure a lot of people's opinion. And please add lua, as I desperately need to learn it.
Decent for someone with no idea how coding works. Free version is very short. I knocked it out in about an hour. 5 bucks to unlock what looks like another hour or two max seems not worth. One of the slides refused to accept the correct answer even when it exactly matched what was given as the answer when giving up.
Its really good! It tells you what happens and then you do it yourself! Awesome hands on activity! 2 downsides, one you need to pay money for more advance learning, and I wish there was more topics to learn than just the main photon, Java, etc. Awesome for beginners like me!
App is laid out well. Very good teaching style; easy to follow, and good at proper repetition of fundamental concepts. However, a number of OTHER important concepts are locked behind pay walls.
You ever heard of a free trial? Spotify does it, Duolingo does it, Mimo does it, My Fitness Pal does it, MOST apps with a "premium" setting offer it... Not Encode! Too good for it. You're just supposed to guess if it'd be worth it or not.
Very nice style of teaching to code. Having examples to each lesson really helps to understand what's going on. For now the app offer three courses (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Python), and there might be more to come. I highly recommend this app for beginners!
I like that it stays with you the whole time. I also like there is a forward and back botton so if after a task is complete if i want to go back and test out mistakes or just to see what something will end up as if i do this.... i can.
const myOpinion = amazing if (myOpinion === amazing) { log('I had fun making this lol') }
Great app, it could be more straight to the point giving more concepts at once, instead of very small pieces, however I understand it may be better like that for complete beginners.
Excellent. no app or course will teach u everything, and don't think encode will do. we should work hard on IDE. encode uses shortcut to teach coding, in oneway it's very good, on other hand we miss many leaning things, and also no community n no help can be requesting via comments. over all good app.
I use this to supplement reading a python book. Its a lightweight way to review and I like it very much. The information is quick, straightforward, and accurate so I can do lessons in bursts.
Its a very good app. I learned a lot. But i wish there would be more courses integrating some topics in one. so you really understand how it works and dont forget how to do if statements for example. But anyways an amazing app!
I have currently only done 3 of the many java script challenges and i must say it is incredible unlike other apps that teach you to program (mimo) it gives you every thing you need to start coding for free. Thanks to the developers of this app for making it.
Very user-friendly and unlike other coding apps, you don't need to start a free trial or pay for the app because the pro version is optional. Very helpful and useful. 9/10 would def recommend. :D (also barely any adds so thats a plus).
