Automating devices is clear as mud. User experience has a lot to be improved upon. Edit: 2021-12-15 Still awful. There aren't enough words to describe what's wrong with this app, so maybe I'll make a Google Drive folder to highlight the various issues that are being experienced (ex: "1%" brightness across the entire adjustment range, brightness adjustment impacting color, "favorites" being modified by adjusting brightness...)

I love this app, I use it every day, I am running two Cams. Doorbell and inside cam have awesome picture quality. The alerts come straight to my phone without delay. The only thing, is that there are some parts of the app that I don't quit understand how to use yet like shared devices. I can't figure out how to link shared devices and the feedback option doesn't work. Other then that The app works great!!!!

Doorbell unit-Works fairly well most of the time. The sensitivity is almost to high. I set mine at the lowest and snow or wind tends to set it off at times. I have ran into a delayed alert on my phone a lot lately. The photos are pretty clear unless there is a great deal of movement. The price for the doorbell unit is reasonable and I was able to purchase it on sale so overall, I feel it was worth what I paid.

Great purchase, software works great now. I gave a bad review earlier because the app was terrible. But in the last year energizer has had several updates and I really like how it works now. The HD quality of the picture was always great. The sound works very well. The product was always top rate. Since the app software has greatly improved, I would highly recommend this product. It is also a lot less than the expensive brands.

This is so terrible. I wish there was a refresh or a 'try to connect' button. The app or the device constantly fails to see the network, works intermittently. I returned it to the store, got a replacement, and experienced the same issue. Bought a different brand than energizer, works no problem. I think its the networking on app or device causing issue, but i don't need it.

Poor execution of app. Playback is terrible. The entire day is one clip & you have to scroll through to find what was happening when you got a notification. If it's at the end of the day, well, you've got hours to scroll through before you find what set off the alarm. Previously had a Piper camera & I think I'm going back to it after this experience. Support is terrible & the hours to contact aren't helpful if you work before 9am or after 6pm. Very disappointed in Energizer for this! DO NOT BUY!

Update: 2 months later and still not fixed. Back and forth with customer service is a nightmare. New update is horrible. I can't access settings for my camera to turn the motion detection on, so nothing is being recorded. Why do I have to click 2 buttons to get to my camera? I want to open the app and see the space being filmed. I emailed support 3 times now and havent heard back.

Since I've installed the update it won't connect to a stream. Wish I'd kept the original app. Turns out the unit is defective. Replacement unit being sent to me. Service dept. Was a joy to deal with. Very understanding and helpful. YOverall the doorbell cam is a great unit tho I wish there was a way to disable or at least turn down the on board bell chime. Very loud and really I think unnecessary. Would be nice if there was a button to turn it off before installing it. Great service.

With the update. The audio problem has been so solved for my video doorbell. It used to be all crackley. Now I can talk through the app when people come to the door without issue. I do wish there was a shortcut to the doorbell in the app. It seems like a lot of steps to just view the camera. I should only have to click on it once to bring the camera up. Other than that. A big improvement from the last version.

Ring settings... huh!??? The instructions for ring settings from the video says go to settings, then ring settings.... where is "ting settings"? I do not have it in the app, and would like to pair the chime! Is it under a new version? 2nd Concern. It would be nice to have a RESET button in the app! Therefore, if the internet goes out and come back on, you wouldn't have to MANUALLY reset the camera, by taking off the cover and resetting. Having that button in the app would be convenient.

The playback in the app doesn't work properly. I can't scroll to the events to watch them as the time bar just snaps back to the beginning of the playback when I try to move it. Also since the device was wired into the doorbell unit it has been making a noticeable electrical buzzing noise in the doorbell mechanism. UPDATE: the new playback feature works much better and allows you to see each motion activated event with ease!

Security cam, app do not perform as expected. The design of the app itself is not really convenient. Impossible to delete a single video, formating seems to be the only option. Time scale in video reader is not working, jump to another video can't be done (you have to watch the entire video to spot what you want to see, that makes no sense). No option to put the cam in sleep mode, mine is in backyard, while I m there it s not useful to let it operate and it s dusturbing. 1 word disappointed

This app really needs explanation of what all the settings are and how they are used. Left time??? They desperately need to add a time trigger for scenes. Also need a way to select a color and brightness for a scene. Presently, you can only select the mode color but not the actual color value and brightness. What good is that? Needs work.

One thing you can not turn off the outside doorbell sound that comes out of the camera. To me that should be an option. 2nd thing when using the 🔊 it's very staticky and crackling noise so you can not hear the person outside but the mic works they can hear you just fine. 3rd thing we have high speed internet with panoramic wifi our other devices have 90 - 100 percent signal and this camera only shows about 50 percent and don't know why when a router is about 6 feet away from it. Please fix...

The app is nice and easy to use. The problem is the "failure to establish encrypted connection" repeatedly. My connection is at 99% and plenty of bandwidth is available. It basically renders the camera useless. Also has terrible static when sound is activated. Please fix so we can use what we paid for.

Motion is no longer detected under alerts since update. Notifications are not sent to phone. Have to scroll through "playback" to see if there was any activity through the day. Having the alert option was much more useful to quickly view activity and especially important when notifications are no longer supported. Tried linking with Google assistant but that didn't support the camera's video stream. I bought a different brand of camera to replace this one since the update rendered it useless.

UPDATE: I already tried 2.4 then 5 and even tried connecting to smartlife but no good. I tried both modes each way. Now all 4 are out. I haven't changed my internet. CS reached out via email with these same steps. Once disconnected, they're just done. These disconnect on their own for no reason. I have 4 and it is rare they all work at the same time. Currently I have 2 out that won't connect no matter what. I'm at a loss and I am waiting to see if customer service can help me. So far not good.

Pretty garbage experience tbh. Constantly getting "device not connected" or network errors gets old really fast. Quality of color at low levels isn't that spectacular either, plus the colors switch randomly while adjusting levels. Definitely more of a hassle than I need when I just need to turn a damn light on. Was a cute novelty for a little while tho.

The application is extremely poorly built and cusses system wide bugs: While viewing the camera, the phone thinks its on a call. It will keep thinking this until he process is stopped It will also stay active in memory and run on the CPU, killing your battery. It also leads to bugging Bluetooth devices and other media by acting like it's in a call. If you're stuck using it, make sure you kill it when done. Horrible programming..
