Engine Driver JMRI Throttle

A fantastic app with incredible functionality, customisation and frequent updates adding even more features. It allows me to run my trains in the complex way which I desire while also allowing simple running for when I want to take it easy. It far exceeds it's (not free) Apple competition to the extent that I have recommended people purchase an Android device just to get access to this app.

Brilliant, works great with JMRI running on a Raspberry Pi. I use this on an old Samsung S3 and it runs fine- sometimes slow on opening but that's the phone not the app. The only feedback I'd give is if there is someway of assigning vibration feedback to function buttons, so you can feel when youve turned a function on or off of not looking at the device

Well done! In the past I thought I wanted nothing to do with a smart phone throttle. Too clumsy I thought. Too complicated. Shows you how wrong you can be. This app makes me put the PowerCab on the shelf. The best part of it is the ability to label all the function buttons as defined in JMRI. It has layers of sophistication.

Great app so far, talking to my small layout through JMRI and DCC++ base station. I love the easy consisting. Interface looks OK but would likely be better on a larger screen. Still playing with all the functions and would love to try it with a sound enabled decoder. Biggest issue so far is that I have to consist by DCC ID, can't seem to do it with the JMRI named inventory, which would be super useful. But hey for the price I'm not complaining!

Overall I like this app it works well and it's very convenient for running my N scale layout. I do have a few issues the main one is when I'm running my ESU loksound decoders with three or more engines on the layout the Full Throttle feature for example or some features are not properly working as they should with multiple units in a contest any help on why this is happening would be great to hear.

Love this app!! Very user friendly and easy to navigate! My son and I have been using this app almost 2 years not with ZERO issues! Would love to be able to see/change the numbers on the button selection and label what functions they are but, not a huge issue.

I originally gave this app 2 stars because it kept dropping my locos and getting hung up. I was using the Digitrax LNWI. However, the developer reached out to me and I worked with him to help troubleshoot the problem. Since the June 6th update it has been much more stable. I am using a special version of the Digitrax Zephyr (the DSC50K) sold in Japan by Kato so that might have been part of my problem. If you have any issues with the app don't hesitate to reach out to the developer. He was very helpful!

Awesome app. Only issue I experienced is that I can not change the buttons latching behaviour. I change the state to latching for a operaring sounds button, but it wont latch, I have to keep the bitton pushed so I can hear the loco operative sounds. Pkease guide me do this correctly or update ao it gets solved, then O will give 5 stars to the App.

When it works this app is great, but the odd random disconnecting gets old real fast.

Downloaded this to use with my GM Prodigy 2 with the wifi module. Wish i had done it sooner! The Prodigy has good functionality but I have struggled with it's rotating knob throttle. The Engine Driver slider throttle is much better to use and locos seem to run smoother. I have one quirk to investigate. If I 'aquire' a long address loco using its dcc address, the loco doesn't respond. Add the address to the roster and 'aquire' it from the roster list, the loco responds.

Doesn't work,,won't connect,,,please help Using Galaxy Note 10 5g,,and Tab S3,,the app appears on the wifi list,,then if it connects at all it says no Internet,,,and then drops off list completely,,,tried everything and looked at Utube for other help,,,no good and frustrating

I've been using this app for a long time and overall is really good except recently when selecting my loco all my functions and etc are still dark or not there and when reselcting it says the loco is already selected. I don't know if it's the app, the club layouts or my phone.

I have been using Engine Driver for several years. Fantastic with JMRI. Fantastic. A recent issue was resolved by clearing cache and data storage which does a better job of resetting the app than deleting and reinstalling. Love this app.

Great throttle app for using phone as throttle with JMRI. Best part is the flexible and text description of the various function buttons for the latest sound decoders. You can rearrange button layout and labels to suit any needs. Don't use my dcc throttles any more...

I use the app for control of everything on my layout through JMRI including tablet control panels, cell phone throttles and ESU Mobile Control. Can't imagine digital model railroading without it! Keeps getting better and better.

This app transformed my DCC experience. Now I can easily run multiple trains and their sounds without selecting them individually on my Digitrax controller. Plus switches and routes. Fantastic!

Read through the set up after downloading to my Android Phone. I guess I should have noticed that it doesn't support NCE DCC Systems. Im sure it would work well however I won't find out since I run a NCE System

Just cannot get the version on my laptop to work. Thoroughly confusing. no hope of getting this app to work if setup on laptop wont do a thing. Very confusing instructions. And yes I have been working with computers for many years. A quick start guide would be helpful. For now though I will have to rely on DCC controllers. Maybe in future I will give it one more try. Shame as it looks like it could be useful.but just wont work for me

Love this App! Don't need a complex throttle. My only issue, when consisting, on the short horn works for lead engine. The long horn and bells work on all engines. This is why I gave 4 over 5 stars.

I have a sister version of engine driver on my iPhone but I can't persuade this version to install on my kindle, it defaults to a Vodaphone VF895N which I don't have! I have checked that I have permission to download from an unknown source (internet) but the web page just says it is installed.. App store is the source that wants to install on a Vodafone.. I am sure if I can persuade my system to behave it will be worth 5 stars but at the moment it gets four for the brilliance of the concept.

So far so good! However I can't see how to get the list of turnouts like you have in the screen shots? I am connected to a digitrax DCS52 via lnwi. Does that ability only work when connected to a jmri server?

Superb app. I was introduced to it by the owner of a large layout, so I could drive one of his trains without hunting for a Lenz controller. My layout is rather more modest, but this, JMRI and a PiSprog is working superbly to operate it.

I'm having a lot of difficulty scrolling thru my FUNCTIONS MENU on the throttle screen without (inadvertently) activating various functions while trying to scroll. Is there a "secret" to doing this? It's like it's too "sensitive"...?

I recently have 2cell phones using this App love it I need 2 so I can run 5 trains I have been trying for 2 days to download this app on my notepad is there a limit on downloads for one address should I remove one cell phone .Will it download then And is there a limit of throttles based on the device

the model rail club i am president of uses this app with near flawless performance. a very useful and priceless utility especially when throttle ports arent readily free and available
