English Audio Bible - ESV

Great to have a free way to listen to the Bible with good voices and not dramatized. However, big problem is that after a few days the media player notification for this app disappeared. So while it keeps playing (for a few mins) in the background or while the screen is turned off, it eventually stops and then you have to reopen the app. Also can't play/pause/skip without reopening the app.

I prefer the normal reading to dramatic, but like that it has options. The male reader (again my experience and preference) reads in a manner that puts the inflection as I do when I read from print so it is easy to go between audible and print and not feel as though I have to re-read passages for context. I love being able to immerse in scripture, even when my eyes are otherwise occupied!

Loving this app. Wish it had a help section. I think my app has been auto updated. I cannot navigate to the screen which shows all of my check boxes to indicate where I left off. Have contacted the developer. Am hoping for a quick response. Perhaps I could go back to an earlier version of the app???

I've loved this app for years and have always listened to it while sleeping. But since new update you can't put it on repeat all so once it's done it turns off I loved waking up to my bible playing, but now it's a dead silence. So I have to find a new app now.

Good content, well dictated, but the app is often laggy, sometimes freezes, and the checkbox feature doesn't retain what you have listened to after you close the app.

I love the language and everything. But the problem is that after the update I had to walk out of bed and press it to repeat and that anoyed me but glad I can listen to the word of God even when I sleep.

I love the female voice. She has a beautiful Irish accent and I love listening to her read the Bible. I feel like I'm snuggled on the couch with a mother figure who is reading to me. Very soothing and a nice alternative to the podcast as I do my daily chores.

This App is the best for scripture lovers,both audio and text options, also drama and non dramatic voice options, female and male options....all just awesome 👌

One of the best if not the best Audio version of the bible, I highly recommend it which ever suits your taste choose regular or dramatic.

Great app with really good voice actors. Only two tiny complaints/suggestions: When I try to run it in the background while accessing other apps (or even sitting on my home page or with the screen off) the audio begins skipping and sounds choppy. It only sounds normal if i keep the app open and on top and keep the screen on. That happens on my Samsung, Oneplus and Sony devices, so it's not device-specific. Other than that, an offline/download more would be incredibly useful.

Well, I loved this app. I was coasting through the Bible and when I got to 2nd Samuel, the audio started crackling and popping and skipping every time I try to listen. I've cleared cache, cleared storage, uninstalled and reinstalled, and the problem persists. It's even in parts of the Bible I've already listened to. At this time I can't recommend this app any longer.

Issues: *no paid version to rid of ads. *Does not pick up where you left off. *No way to save text progress. *Must manually save audio progress. *Must scroll through whole list of books and chapters to find where you you left off by memory every time. * Some ads not acceptable for Christian consumers.*** This would be perfect if they addressed these shortcomings. ***No feedback from developers or attempt to improve.

Overall I like this app. One thing I wish it would do would be to open the audio where I left off rather than having to scroll through the various books and chapters again to get to where I was. Especially if I had to leave part way through the daily reading, because it starts at the beginning again. It is possible to skip chapter by chapter. But it is still an extra unwanted step.

Love this app. Has many unique, impressive features. If I had to address something, my only issue would be the audible reading feature. When I start it on play mode & I leave that section to open an entirely different section, for instance the readable bible so I can follow along as the audio is playing... my complaint would be tht I wish the audio had a small play/stop/pause bar on top so I could pause as im trying to find my place in the written bible section to follow along with audio.

Was forced to take the upgrade. Lost all my check boxes which kept track of my progress. I like the reader for the voice only option. There are lots of different Bible reading plans. I can't find the speed button for the media player. I have contacted the developer. We'll see if I get a response.

This is a great bible app. I love it. The Lord only downside that I really don't like is that when listening through the bible I have to exit all the way out to the home screen then click through several screens just to get back to chapters I just listened to in order to check it off. I should be able to check it off on the screen I'm listening to OR be able to go back only 1 screen and check it off.

Good so far only need to adjust a little as in; put the audio and the text in one place, so one can listen and read at the some time. Instead of going into audio and then try to find the bible text to follow through. You could have both on one page, where you could chose one or both options.

I love this app to listen to scripture. The ESV is easy to understand yet still eloquent.

Luv how it simplifies the words and easy to highlight scripture.

Love the voice of the audio! But it will just stop playing and you have to restart the app or keep pressing play. Hard to do that while driving... Instead of letting you pick up where you left off adio wise, you have to figure out where you left off.

This app fits like a glove. Uncomplicated. After a year of using it, I still love it.

Some scripture I like to read slowly like Psalms and Proverbs other passages I want to read a little more quickly because it is an event and I am familiar with it. This app allows me to change the rate of speed the audio plays and as I read with the narrator. It also helps me to read more in the same amount of time.

Really, very useful for those who travel frequently. Voice characterisation and back ground music is very lively. It takes one to the live fee. Thanks for such a wonderful creation.

Great App! I love the different options for reading/hearing the Bible! Only problem is that every time I click on something I have to watch an ad, even when I just want to go back to the previous screen. I don't mind having to watch ads but this is a bit annoying and not user friendly.
