English Bhagavad Gita

Bhagavad Gita is knowledge of five basic truths and the relationship of each truth to the other: These five truths are Krishna, or God, the individual soul, the material world, action in this world, and time. The Gita lucidly explains the nature of consciousness, the self, and the universe. It is the essence of India's spiritual wisdom.
Bhagavad Gita, is a part of the 5th Veda (written by Vedavyasa
- ancient Indian saint) and Indian Epic
- Mahabharata. It was narrated for the first time in the battle of Kurukshetra, by Lord Krishna to Arjun.

The Bhagavad Gita, also referred to as Gita, is a 700–verse Dharmic scripture that is part of the ancient Sanskrit epic Mahabharata. This scripture contains a conversation between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide Krishna on a variety of philosophical issues.

Faced with a fratricidal war, a despondent Arjuna turns to his charioteer Krishna for counsel on the battlefield. Krishna, through the course of the Bhagavad Gita, imparts to Arjuna wisdom, the path to devotion, and the doctrine of selfless action. The Bhagavad Gita upholds the essence and the philosophical tradition of the Upanishads. However, unlike the rigorous monism of the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita also integrates dualism and theism.

Numerous commentaries have been written on the Bhagavad Gita with widely differing views on the essentials, beginning with Adi Sankara's commentary on the Bhagavad Gita in the eighth century CE. Commentators see the setting of the Bhagavad Gita in a battlefield as an allegory for the ethical and moral struggles of the human life. The Bhagavad Gita's call for selfless action inspired many leaders of the Indian independence movement including Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who referred to the Bhagavad Gita as his "spiritual dictionary".

The app is good with meanings, I just wished they had an audio version, just so that we don't make any pronounciation mistakes... Ultimately, the app is good, is very spiritual and every one who can't read Indian language can also read this as it is in English :)

It is not well edited. English words are often jammed together, and I woud assume is the Sanskrit(?) It seems to capture the tone of the original. I like the color of the background. It is warm and inviting.

One of the best app for the holy scripture. Like the way it's divided in chapters and further into shloks, the best way it could be. Like the shlok of the day feature and ability to add favourite. Suggestions: 1) Add Option to read original shlok in devanagari script. 2) Add a random shlok button just like shlok of the day but to be generated at random. 3) Mark shlok completed - Please show a tick or some icon to show that I have read this chapter/shlok. Thanks.

So overall, it's ok. I would like to point out things I cut 2 stars for. 1. There is no space b/w 2 words at many places. 2. Ad comes right where the meaning cokes on long press. This need to be fixed ASAP.

Content is very good... Hope they will add more.... And give more explanation wherever required.... Thank you author and developer

Not good. It's a word to word translation. The essence of bhagwad gita is lost throughout the verses. And the english is half baked. Where many words are joined together to make them a single word. Only good thing is its layout, presentation and ease of use. Otherwise avoid this app.

It is wonderful app. I relish it. Thanks a lot to develop such app. The most important feature of this app is the pronunciation I of slokas. However there is an awesome feeling, to read, can not be expressed through few words.

There are many spacing errors. Also it is better to remove the commentaries and keep the translation in its pure form. There are several excellent commentaries available. Any commentary could be given as a link, to be looked up in case of need

if i could rate it 3.5 i would because its good, it just lacks any context as to who any of the characters in the scripture are-so be prepared to do alot of studying up if you're new to all of this and really want to know whats actually happening.

Its very good. There is abit of spacing problem. The commentary part provides extra information wch helps to conprehend the slok in a better way. It is explained in a very lucid language.

Good Application to get a short and sweet explanation of the verses on -the-go. At times though there is a word per word translation, but meaning is not clear. Appreciation for 'Shloka of the Day ' feature.

Excellent app but certain translations are not proper. I expected more from this app. Please improve the translations.

I would rate this a 4 and a half.. the other half was because it had so many big words but usually they are broken into small small words. but love this app so much...😘😘

This is so good. It helps me to out important shlokas in favourites so that I can read them quickly when I wish to. There is also night mode to read at night. Thank you so much for this app. God bless you!

I do agree the you earn through ads but this is a bit annoying, you get ads when you get in to a chapter and when you click back as well...I have uninstalled the app which I just downloaded...

Meg. V. K. Jun 7, 2020

Though the explanations are not in depth, the app provides the basic meaning of each shloka. I feel this is one area you need to work on. Thanks for the knowledge full initiative.

DEE. N. Sep 1, 2020

Actually this app this Superb if we ignore the adds!! The overall apps interface is too good!! But the meaning of the shlokas should be given in simpler words so that everyone could understand!!

Mpo. C. Oct 25, 2019

Straight forward and uncluttered. Simple English and clearly structured. The advertisement are disturbing....oh it is because it's free

Love the morning notification. (Would have been better if the original stanzas in Devanagari lipi were added.) Thank you for the effort. Many are annoyed with ads. Patience, losing one's ego and that there is no free lunch is the message (even in our lives we do not have every day of good health, best of spirits, best of humans, day in and day out- we have a mixture. Ads are like the ill-health, bad days, etc. Let me pass as they will also pass!)

San. V. Sep 29, 2021

Thank you so much for this effort in compiling verses with their translation. It becomes really handy to bookmark , quote and give reference of the verses. keep the good work going...Hare Krishna 🙏

This app has really made understanding sanskrit very easy a Little bit of grammatical errors though but the over all extract is good, would definitely recommend.

MAY. M. Apr 6, 2019

oM. S. Feb 27, 2019

It's good to understand and easy to go through it for read I just love this app but sometimes it's words aren't organised as good it's mean sometimes it's gonna be attached....

Lid. R. Sep 5, 2021

Good read with a bit of commentary included. The developer used good measure when it comes to ads. All in all, I recommend this app. Thank you

Diy. R. Jan 4, 2022

If you could give only shlokas chapter wise in one page at the end ; will be more useful while reciting the chapters.. but Happy with the present too..Thank you
