This version of EnLighten is part of a six-month study on the safety, efficiency, and environmental benefits of providing drivers with real-time information about traffic lights in their area. Coverage is only available in four study cities:

EnLighten combines GPS information with Connected Signals’ proprietary traffic light prediction technology to make drivers safer, more fuel efficient, and less stressed.
Using real-time traffic light and position information, EnLighten informs drivers about the state of upcoming lights. When possible, EnLighten also provides make/miss speed ranges based on the future state of the lights ahead. In addition, EnLighten provides a countdown to green when a driver is stopped at a red light, which can discourage drivers from starting distracting tasks when the light is about to change.
