Just reiterating. No progress. No response to my review. Won't connect, drops constantly-and does not reconnect until you stop the car. It also ASSUMES if you're in the car, you're driving. As a passenger, I am paralyzed & unable to perform any tasks. Driving along at top speed and the GPS gives out at a crucial turn. That has happened numerous times. It doesn't look like R & D is monitoring the reviews, so I gather there w/be no recourse. Toyota won't take responsibility for the app.

This has to be the most annoying application ever. I do not wish to use it, but everytime I connect my phone to the car usb - it asks to download the app. I could not find a way to make it stop, and had to download it. Once the app is downloaded, it is still very intrusive - it projects itself forward in front of other apps. Turning off notifications does not work! I get it, you want to gather data about the car, about the our driving habits etc. but this is too much!

What a pain in the a$$!!!! I rent a lot of cars when I travel for work. Android Auto is simple to set up and it just works. This app was a pain to install and set up, then you have to install a different app for navigation. There's issues getting the phone to sync, and Toyota just does things differently - for no good reason. I'll avoid toyota rentals just because of how poorly their electronics sync up.

If this app is going to be required for making full use of the ability to connect your phone to the car, then it needs to be able to run in the background. The necessity of keeping the phone unlocked, entune open, and screen on while plugged in just so scout GPS can run on the headunit is a major inconvenience. Also, I really hope this app will be a conduit for Android Auto in a future update. The lack of Android Auto capability is a major downfall.

Doesn't display song information on my car's screen from Spotify like title, artist, album, etc majority of the time. When it does display, I will press the next track button on my steering wheel, and it skips once.. But then the ability to skip another track becomes disabled? This has truly ruined my new car experience. My old 2016 Corolla never gave me this trouble because it didn't require me to download an app, but still worked perfectly. This app needs a major overhaul and fast.

This was the worst experience I have ever had. I rushed back to the rental car company and traded cars just to get away from it. The options for gps and inability to screen mirror my cell were the deal breakers. I downloaded the gps app and it was no where close to the experience I get from Google Maps. It wouldn't even look up locations on the fly for me.. I'm uninstalling this program again.

Horrible and Invasive yet necessary. Start Bluetooth and you start this app, you can't prevent it. To use the USB connection on your dash to connect to a thumb drive, you must use it. The on-board electronics always warn you each time that you start your vehicle that it is expecting this app to connect by Bluetooth. It really does merit a complaint to the FTC.

So annoying. I don't want to install this garbage, yet when connected via USB to charge my phone, every 5 seconds I get a notification to do so. So I install it to shut the warnings up. Now, when trying to listen to music, it launches their application forcibly and kicks me out of my music. I write software for a living. I would fire whoever decided this experience was a good idea.

From time to time I have to uninstall the app from my phone because I get an error saying something like "error retrieving list of apps" it causes the Camry to grey out the apps on the screen. Bluetooth works and is connected but the apps don't work. If you restart the phone or the app it doesn't work. You have to uninstall the app and reinstall it. Then you have to log into the apps again and reconnect it to the car. Pain in the butt. It seems to happen if I get a phone call as soon as I'm starting the car

App is garbage... Setup is difficult, connectivity is poor. Bluetooth works when it wants, navigation is 50/50. When listening to music via Bluetooth the first song info displays the entire time no matter how many times you change it. I paid a lot of money for a vehicle that is hindered by an app. Had I thought of researching something like a multimedia software system for a vehicle prior to purchase, this app would of very well broke the deal for me.

This app has one major flaw. it auto opens when I connect to any bluetooth device except my car. This is when I would need it. Not when I connect to external speakers or headset and cause additional battery drain on my phone. If this can be fixed I am sure that my experience would be better. Until then it is extremely aggravating to have to force stop this app every time I connect to my headphones........ or have to activate when connecting to my car. The programmer's sure got this one backwards

Rented a new Camry and went through the painful precess of setting up the Scout maps app (why not Google maps??), which requires Entune. That whole process took about 30+ minutes. Now EVERY time I turn on the car it tells me there's an update ready for Entune! There first few times I went ahead and applied the update, thinking that might solve the problem, but it has not. Plus, the app is constantly running in the background, with an icon in the notification bar telling me it's ready to connect.

This app is very unable. I purchased my first new car, and expected a better infotainment system after using newer rental cars for work. Toyota has the absolute worst system I've ever experienced. I don't understand how it's supposed to work in the first place, let alone give me the option to use apps that I would like to (Google Maps, Android Auto, etc).

Every time the app starts up, it brings up a screen that informs me that it's connected to my car via bluetooth. On this screen there is only one button or option to select, which is to disconnect. I can't push the back button, I can't swipe anywhere, I can only disconnect. It's actually kind of funny how pointless it is lol

What a useless system for android phones. First off I only connect Bluetooth for music and phone. Those two work fantastic. Toyota entune app always drops, scout GPS is no longer comparable with my phone and the available apps are useless as they are on my phone already. I will be looking for a replacement unit as the music quality is not impressive. You asked for a review.

This app does not operate correctly. The bluetooth disconnects with the car everytime the wifi gets out of reach. Moreover, the apps that I already signed in, I have to do it periodically entering my user name and password on each of them, which is annoying. Couldn't a top car maker in the world update and/or fix these problems accordingly already? The problem is that there is no other choise if I want to listen to my music connecting to the entertainment screen of this 2018 Camry.

It's frustrating that I need to connect my cell phone via USB to utilize GPS functionality. The Entune app does little but to serve as a link to your account to enable the usage of premium apps within your vehicle. It's clunky and in my opinion entirely unnecessary. I would rather not have yet another app on my phone for this sort of thing, particularly because this one seems to offer nothing for me. Toyota, please retroactively roll out Android Auto on your vehicles. The current setup is a wreck.

This app is junk. It adds nothing to my driving experience. You are better off never installing it. It interferes with apps that work well with modern car radios. It would be better if we could choose a greater range of apps. However, as is, it was a total waste of time and is the only thing in my car that feels cheap and not well done.

This app works with the Scout app for the new Toyotas. It's all garbage, my brand new car has no navigation and half of its apps and features don't work because of these two apps not being helpful at all. I can't get texts or emails read out to me, I have no navigation or traffic alerts, because this app constantly needs updating or has errors syncing and drains my phones battery all day. I spent a lot more money on a vehicle with upgraded tech features -that dont work. I want my 2014 car back.

You need this app to display other apps on your car's dashboard screen, too bad this is not built in functionality. But you can't control anything with this app. It interrupts your phone usage so you cant easily interact with other apps on your phone (you still need a phone mount to use apps not supported by Entune.) And it uses your phone battery even when you are not in the car. This app would be more useful if it let you manage and select the other apps, and if it could be closed/turned off.

Absolutely ridiculous not to have Android Auto or Carplay as part of this app. Privacy concerns is absolutely gibberish and the interface actually becomes dangerous as the multi tasking is difficult to navigate. Instead of pressing a button and giving a command you have to do most on screen. Might as well not have a system at all. The car is incredible, so sad this is the system that comes with it.

Applications don't utilize Android auto for starters. The app constantly needs to be logged out then back in. When playing running the music stops, starts, stutters, speeds up, slows down, and sometimes it plays songs in 1/2 speed. I've tried working with the dealership who refused to update the internal software because i didn't own an iPhone. I've worked with Google to identify what could be the issue with the pixel 3xl, but the problem still persists. No support help at all.

Horrible application This application comes out of the box with useless features and services. If you want GPS integration you need to install a separate application. This application must run in background on your phone, and always shows in the notifications. If you plan to go with Toyota and you have an android you should reconsider. Some new model now allow android auto but without it you are stuck with a useless multimedia screen in you car.

This is an absolutely awful, very pushy app. It automatically and REPEATEDLY puts itself in front of all else on my phone as soon as I turn on my car, with no way to disable that feature when I try uninstalling to get rid of that, the car still makes a pop up come up on my phone repeatedly to get me to reinstall. The functions on the screen on my car constantly have pop ups, asking me to connect to this app, with no way to disable. Very distracting while driving, not to mention frustrating.

Android Auto is non existent right now so basically this app runs in the background, even when the car is disconnected, and uses battery. It doesn't close when the car is off and wants you to still connect to the car. Or if your phone is connected to another car (i.e. spouses) it turns on when your phone connects to that car. My wife has a Jeep and this trust to connect. It's rather annoying to open the app and force close when it's not near your Toyota vehicle. Major improvements are needed.

This App is terrible! I have still not been able to get it to work for the past 6 months. I can get music to play via Bluetooth, but have no navigation. The app keeps saying my Bluetooth is not paired even though it plays music through the Bluetooth. Its the only thing I'm disappointed with in my new car. Im really bummed about this.

GTFO IT'S 4 AM MONDAY MORNING, EAT A BIG BAG OF PHALLIC OBJECTS YOU POS Edit: thanks for waking me up at 4 am with 3 "test push notification"s which did nothing when clicked. Worst. App. Ever. Very few apps available, soon to be even fewer since they are dropping Pandora which is basically the only one I use. GPS does not have enough functionality, would be nice to have an offline map option like Google Maps. It is also extremely annoying and pointless that the app pops up on my phone every time I turn my car on or off.

My phone and car ALWAYS disconnects. It will literally drop my call, seconds later decides to connect again. Worst of all, when im using the navigation system and it disconnects in the middle of driving. So much for safety. I have two phones, one android and one apple. Both is not will well recognize by Entune. Definitely not a phone problem. If I could choose my own apps for my car, Entune wouldn't even last a day.

Usually can't even get my phone to connect. Whenever I manage to fix it, it only works for a few days before it refuses to connect again. Fixing it is generally time consuming and frustrating. It's nice when it works, but the amount of times I've had to yell at my car makes it not generally worth the frustration. Unfortunately, I can't get maps on my car without this wonderfully useless app.

I have Android Auto in my Hyundai and it's awesome. Runs all apps such as Spotify, Pandora, Waze, Audible from the car's touchscreen. Entune had Pandora but is dropping that in November!. I can even do Google searches through Android Auto, such as what's the weather,. Entune nothing. And for GPS navigation, the Scout interface can't connect half the time and sends you through side streets, not best route. Why even have an interface in the Toyota. You have to do everything through your phone and use Bluetooth to send it through the speakers. Just put a mount for your phone in front of the "infotainment" screen so you can see it and reach your phone easily. Toyota, give up on your failed interface and use Android Auto or iPhone interface.
