Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder which affects 1 in 26 people worldwide. It can have a relapsing, remitting, and unpredictable course. Treatment of epilepsy can be frustrating, and has been accurately referred to as being similar to the popular “whack a mole” game. Whether your epilepsy is mild or severe, refractory or controlled, it is critical to objectively and consistently monitor certain factors such as number of seizures, seizure triggers, AED drug or ketone levels, and other vital information. Keeping a detailed epilepsy journal will allow you to quickly notice any changes to your epilepsy, as well as provide you with impartial evidence as to whether your epilepsy treatment is truly effective or losing effectiveness over time.

App Features:
- Easy to use
- Record seizure details (as much or as little as you like)
- Visual representation of data
- Generate reports
- Keep track of medications with reminders
- Customizable to fit your individual epilepsy
- Full version completely FREE with NO ADVERTISEMENTS

Our Story/ Mission:

Our daughter Olivia is our inspiration for this app. Olivia has a refractory and severe epilepsy which began at age 1. Once Olivia´s epilepsy started we were advised by our physicians to keep a written epilepsy journal, in order to track trends and treatment response overtime. Although the journal was helpful in allowing us to objectively monitor the effectiveness of her epilepsy treatments, it was very time consuming and tended to be disorganized; As well, the hundreds of pages of notes did not help us when it became most critical to quickly and accurately summarize months worth of seizure history, (for example during emergency hospital visits or follow up appointments). During our experience navigating the neurology health care system, we found accurate and effective communication to be a key factor in successfully working with doctors and achieving ideal seizure control. We created this app as a free and simple way to monitor your epilepsy; track trends and patterns, objectively determine effectiveness of seizure treatment overtime, and improve success of doctors appointments.Since epilepsy contains dozens of ever changing variables, we decided to organize data into simple visuals which demonstrate seizure trends and patterns over a time span of months to years. Our epilepsy journal allows you to quickly document all the important variables concerning your epilepsy, and to generate a simple and easy to read report to print out or email your doctors. We hope that this app enables you to grasp a better understanding of your own individual epilepsy, and that it empowers you as an effective communicator and advocate within your epilepsy health care team.

To be able to have a record of your seizures is wonderful. Easy to use. Data records are excellent. It's made such a difference to me. Thank you so much.

Works well enough. Mostly does what it's made for. Although it's currently doubling the seizures in the bar graph and totals recorded (just had another look and it's doubled ALL sizeures ever recorded! 😵😪 So do I need to manually go through and delete the doubles??) Widgets still not fixed 😬 Edited to add: have tried deleting double up and it deletes both. Looking for another app.

This is a very useful app. I do wish I could alphabetize the customized lists for quicker selection. I'd also like to have another list for symptoms like confusion, mental fogginess, memory loss, exhaustion, tiredness, headaches, etc. Mine cluster together and these symptoms result. I need to log how I feel over a 3 day cluster of events.

App was working perfectly with no issues for about 8 months until 11/24/2020. Now the app will not open. Any time I try to enter it the app pops up a message and closes before I can even read the message. This is highly upsetting as my seizures are quite frequent(several times a day) so I will have to look for another app. Pretty sad I lost several months worth of extremely important data. If the app still worked I would wish it had the option to add and store video of episodes.

I've tried various seizure diaries over the years but this is far and away the best. The app is flexible to let you capture the information you want and the reports are excellent. I like the calendar that allows me to back fill the diary. I have shown it to my consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery for her to recommend. The only thing that would make it perfect would be to be able to down load the data to a file e.g csv or xls.

Would be an amazing app if it would save my setting preferences. The preferences reset when I close the settings which is incredibly frustrating. Also, the duration clock is slow and is confusing when trying to manually set. Having it count milliseconds would be useful for things like myoclonics. Fix these things and it will be 5 stars.

I was encouraged by the usefulness of this app to myself and for the benefit of epilepsy carers/family and friends. There seems to be a lot of useful information that, once submitted, could prove helpful in terms of keeping a record of a patient's progress. I was also pleased to read recent update includes compatibility with Wear OS -a statement which I have found to be erroneous as I have a TicWatch Pro 3 GPS which uses the most recent version but one. However no app has appeared on my watch...

26/3/21 - improved for a while but ack to having to remove widget from home screen and replace every night . Widget still failing to initiate when needed. Having to remove widget from home screen and replace every night . It works at first then come 3am or whenever it's not working again. Getting very frustrated. Widget to start timer never works when I need it to. Have uninstalled and reinstalled, updated, u name it. Button always works after reinstalling but never when I actually need it.

What should be most important feature of this app was unfortunately overlooked. To mark a seizure you press a button and to stop the timer press an other button. While a person is having a seizure is very unlikely they will be able to. Locate their phone. Unlock their device. open the app and press the seizure button, by this point the seizure might have passed or they're still seizing and wouldn't be able to mark the episode. There needs to be a way to manually enter seizures and their duration

Fromsomeone with uncontrolled seizures right now, who has multiple seizures a day and even more at night. The app is amazing much better then any other I have looked at. I wish there was just a seizure button you could push on your main screen verses opening application then pushing button but idk if that is possible. That would be my only complaint I LOVE THIS APP

I have given 3 Stats only because I have just started to use this app. My opinion so far is that it is an excellent app. The best app out of all of the epilepsy diary apps. I have one suggestion. Firstly the context: I am mostly blind. Thus I have a service animal to help me. We have discovered that it can sense some time before I have an epileptic seizure. Please can you add a new, separate place in the diary so that I can record when my animal does warn me. The notes section is unsuitable.

Very good app, easy to use and input data. It does shut down when adding an image with your camera. But that is the only negative I have found. I also like that you can change the icon appearance of the app on your phone screen.
