Took weeks just to be able to get a connection between the phone and the computer. I kept looking up troubleshooting tips from the developers, that ended up just being a repeat of the basic instructions. Once I got a connection, it was at 720, not the promised 1080. The point was moot, though, because I still couldn't get a signal in OBS or any messaging app.

Avoid. £5.49 (non refundable) spent on an app no better than the free version, in terms of controllability. This includes not being able to touch to focus on objects or change exposure. If you're paying for this over the free version, you'll be extremely disappointed. I'm told the iPhone version is better/more feature-rich, which is confusing. I'd really like a refund, I feel robbed.

This app is horrible. I can NOT get it to work. I downloaded the 2.9.8 drivers for my PC. I bought the Pro version without trying the free version because it looked like it would meet my needs exactly. I start the app on both the computer and the phone, and all I get is "Searching for Server, please wait" i waited an hour and it never found anything. My phone and Pc are on the same network SSID. Don't bother with this app.

Promises much but does not deliver (for Android, anyway). Purchased the Pro version based on a YT demonstration video and the developer's description. As a teacher, I had intended to use it as an overhead camera for whiteboarding materials for students. Pro's - Successfully transfers at least one frame of video over my wifi connection to my Zoom application. Managed to get rear and front facing cameras to appear as video source. Con's - Zoom is refreshing about every 10 seconds, or so, with a new frame -- definitely not streaming. OBS has a higher framerate, appears to be 30fps. My Pixel4 is HOT within seconds of starting the app, as in "I can't hold the phone must put it on a stand" hot. USB connection does not work for Android (stated on website but not on Play Store where this fact would have saved me from paying for the Pro version). Lack of any manner of controls for configuring camera on the phone other than to swap front/rear. I can imagine if USB connection worked for Android that the network connection wouldn't be as much an issue and I would achieve something resembling usable quality. Also, the heat produced by my phone when running this app is significant enough that I wouldn't be comfortable running it for more than a few minutes.

Works great until the reminder to rate this app pops up and jams your signal in the middle of a meeting, even in do not disturb mode. Otherwise i would have given it 5 stars. UPDATE: It just straight up stopped wanting to connect to my PC, so on the fly I had to download an alternative webcam program, and that one worked instantly without any issues. So I'm downgrading my review. Don't waste your money here.

1st hour of use on a Huawei Mate9 and Windows 10 workstation with good WiFi is mixed. While it mostly does what it says it can do, the video stream is freezing on the computer, while there is no indication of a problem on the phone app. This has happened after 10 minutes of use in each of the first 3 uses thus far. Last test ran about 20-25 minutes before stream freeze. Closing the phone app and restarting it seems to reenable the video feed without having to close and reopen the client.

Total garbage not worth paying for the upgrade wish I could get a refund. They trick you because the free version actual works better in terms of staying connected but the paid version loses connection frequently. A very heavily neutered version of the iPhone version with no major reason to upgrade. Freezes after about 5 minutes of use. Tried it on three different phones and 2 different machines both and Mac and a PC not worth the "upgrade" save yourself time and money.

Set up was easy enough, but I had no access to pro features listed on the website: manual focus, and flashlight. The focus was actually locked so everything further than a foot or two away from the camera was blurry. Would've been helpful to have those things available. It wouldn't work at all with my forward facing camera.

I have a Pixel 4 XL and this app barely functions. It'll connect just fine and initiate streaming with the back camera over WiFi, but it is extremely laggy and doesn't stream at high quality as advertised. When I try to switch it to the front facing camera, it disconnects and refuses to reconnect. The app is extremely limited compared to it's iOS counterpart and not worth the pro upgrade.

I read all the bad comments and still I wanted to give it a try, the app worked only for a few minutes, after that just stop working. I did use the EpocCam Pro because of the 1080p. Phone was overheating, When trying to change to the front facing camera, it got disconnected, no controls on the app (Just the flip camera button). I had to request a refund. It's a shame, this app has so much potential. Developers please fix it, that would be much appreciated. Thanks

Stick with the free version! I downloaded this app because the free version was easy to use and straightforward. I thought the paid version would be good because it provides a higher resolution but it rarely works for more than a minute and constantly freezes on my Mac. Huge thumbs down.

I have a samsung Galaxy s8 phone connecting to a imac & or macbook pro. DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY!!!. Acting like the free version I downloaded prior to this. Paid app Just gets stuck on "connecting to server please wait". If it does connect, which is only sometimes, it DOES NOT have all the features, "no setting button, front and back camera button, etc. nothing like the youtube videos I see. Not worth the money... for me anyways. PLEASE REFUND!

Works fine after some hassle with connecting to the PC. Not very reliable, sometimes it takes extremely long to connect to PC even if Skype seen image from camera in settings a moment before. It is also a burden for wifi signal as image goes from phone to pc and from pc to outter world through router and you may experience "poor connection" issues. Can't substitute a USB camera because does not support USB. If only android version supported USB that would be great!

Nir. D. Aug 7, 2020

From all the videos I have seen on youtube, this app is great only if you have installed it on a iOS device, not at all good for android devices. The epoccamviewer app doesn't even open has a bug. And the epocam app on Android has nothing other than flip camera feature. And as soon as you flip from rear to front camera the app crashes

I bought it because it is the only app I can find that can connect my android phone to my Mac as webcam . One, the video quality is really bad. It keeps dropping if connected with a good wifi. Not to mention there's no sound if I use its mike source and if I use my Mac, it has an echo. I installed their drivers and adjusted the volume but nada. In just less than 30 mins, I requested a refund. Too bad, they should have done a better job as they have no competition on android to mac niche.

Don't know why this app has so many 1 star reviews. It works perfectly fine for me - I use it in Zoom and OBS. (Not sure about other video apps) I'm using a Samsung S9+ with a Windows 10 computer. Make sure you download the driver for your computer and both your phone and computer are on the same WIFI. That's it, very simple and easy.

Awful - managed to set up after a long time however it keeps losing connection and then to reconnect, I have to restart both my phone and computer - I have found another application that is easier to use, more consistent and FREE Also where's the Android support, wouldn't be having these issues if I could use a cable

This is the biggest let down. Totally inconsistent connection to a pc and a constant pain to try to get to work. If it does work with zoom it is only for about 2 minutes and the cuts out. By a better app not this one.

EDD. S. Jun 19, 2020

I've try 2nd time That I really tough it's my ecamm live software problem (just got the new update) yes, the connection speed are faster, much more faster than before , but there's no auto focus or any other way to control the phone (I'm using hauwei p30 pro), sooooo.... Yeah.

Str. J. Jun 21, 2020

Followed every single prompt both in videos and their own website, and got nowhere. It only wanted to connect through Wifi even though I had my cell connected to the PC, with every app downloaded (PC and cell). Don't recommend at all.

Mel. H. May 12, 2020

I was unable to get the app to do anything other than "search for server" on my Samsung Galaxy Note9. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling, it would never even connect to the computer. Very poor in my experience. Not recommended

Emm. B. Jul 26, 2020

Bad app. Tried it on Pixel 3 XL with a Mac. Free version worked but audio did not work on the paid version. I only get the option to stream 720p video and it cuts off about every 20 minutes. Might as well buy an actual webcam.

Jos. P. Apr 16, 2020

It promised a 1080p resolution, it was 480 to 640p approx at max. I have the p30 pro with an amazing camera. The only results you see through the apl is a very blurry version. Yes, it doesn't have ads but it isnt that much better than the free one. Looking for a way to refund this currently.

Tom. F. Jul 4, 2020

Using a Huawei P30 Pro with a Macbook. Just straight up didn't work. The app loaded up and the Mac said it was connected, but I wasn't able to select it as my camera over WiFi, and the USB connection didn't show up at all.

I am most greatful at the help this app has given me. Some day I'll make you proud. But I only trust this app. 1st love, so I'm just trying to be faithful. For me to wish anything more than what it provides is to say it has imperfections. Thank you. I'm using a sony xperia now. Has a lot of options to take advantage of. Even though elgato bought the rights on the iPhone. I am not quite sure on its update on Android but if you could see this is I'd encourage it.

Mic. L. Oct 9, 2020

Microphone does not work at all, crashes often, no way to configure to start with front camera, no way to adjust resolution, works with Wifi only. Waste of money over the free version.

Lac. P. Jun 4, 2020

I downloaded the android paid version for zoom meetings and it cuts out or freezes every time I have someone new join the zoom meeting. It's ridiculous that I paid money for this ish. I hate that I can't hard-line in either and that it has to be WIFI and can't use USB. Please fix.

Jos. N. Apr 19, 2020

There is no ability to focus the image. I got it connected to my MacBook and Zoom but unless my face is right up to the camera it's blurry and there's no way to change that. No wonder the ratings are so bad, glad I got my refund.
