EQ Bank Mobile Banking

When this was a new app it was terrible. Now it's better than any of the other mobile banking apps I use (Manulife, Rogers, various CUs). There's lots to like here - fingerprint authorization, convenient transfers between accounts once you've set them up, free Interac transfers, US$ account, and you can send payments to foreign countries. Unfortunately it does not receive payments from foreign countries yet.

If you are looking for high interest and an easy to maintain solution, EQ is great, however, it has no auto deposit through interact, app is very user friendly, account setup is very easy. very poor functionality when closing accounts extremely difficult. Latest update on android doesn't work, can't log in, pretty scary!!!

Signing in for first time after password change requires disabling fingerprint or bank info won't display properly. Can't sign in manually with password as app will still require fingerprint, if enabled. US dollar account doesn't have wire transfers (no SWIFT code) or bill payments. No trust funds. Have to purchase GIC first before seeing final return amount. App doesn't tell you when there's maintenance.

When sending Interac transfers using this Android mobile app, the app consistently crashes. Website works fine. When receiving interac transfers, it shows my name rather than the name of the sender making it difficult to reconcile who actually sent me the interac. The latter is a known issue that apparently is still being worked on for the past year!

Stable and useable, especially for a finance app. I just wish the "back" gesture would dismiss the keyboard when it's open like most apps do instead of exiting the current screen without saving anything. That's frustrating because the keyboard gets in the way of the send button on etransfers.

Generally easy to use including linking external accounts. No issues doing any of our daily banking including bill payments, etransfers, etc. Navigation is simple and generally intuitive. Haven't tried it for NFC transfers so not sure if it will do that. Overall a good banking app.

Doesn't work! Keep trying to login and there's a perpetual loop that keeps asking for my password then my fingerprint then my password again. When I finally get in, the dashboard is blank then when I select etransfer, I get booted out... What's up???

It is an easy app to use and has the basic stuff (account details, transfer funds, pay bills, deposit cheques via photos, etc ). I think they heard people's complaints as now it shows a date of when funds are available after you deposit money. Before, it wouldn't tell you exactly when. Good app. 👍🏻

I can't scroll 2 seconds while in the home screen without the "It pays to spread the word about EQ Bank" page appearing out of nowhere. All I'm doing is scrolling down, and I keep getting interrupted by the refer a friend or mortgage spam. I have to click Back every time mortgage or referral spam appears it's annoying. Using Android 10 Samsung S9. I wouldn't trust a bank with my money if the app behaves like a university's computer science student project.

Version 2.3.27 straight up just doesn't work. Changing to any tab other than home logs you out and the home page shows no numbers. Edit: now I can't even log in to the app, and after a few attempts it locked me out of the web app. Had to do a password reset.

I'll leave you to read and judge the bank (note: they have a refer-a-friend! Make sure to get a code if you're new and wanna sign up) As far as the app goes, it's put together brilliantly and works great on droid. Impression is that EQ actually has their * together properly. Liking it so far - and app exp is 👍

Decent banking app. It opens pretty slow, but the UI is understandable, and it has all the regular banking features you need.

They added the e-transfer page in app! Thanks for making the change, and the mortgages feature is great. Too bad I bought a house 2 months before you launched Enjoying the new updates, would like to see the e-transfer page in the app. And the website + app aren't showing me custom ranges of dates, only the 1, 6, and 12 month options

The app has improved a lot in the past months. Love the in-app e-transfer. Still lots of bugs that make me nervous. Hope the interest becomes high again.

Forced update. Then forcing to change job description. As the one I'd previously chosen is no longer valid. Then it gives me error message when I try to do that. And now I can't access my account!!!

The App is good way to save money. As the saying goes, "Out of sight, out of mind." The bank needs to modify their policy of NOT automatically declining bill payments even if clients pay the same dollar amount in various accounts.

The app was consistently crashed when setting up an etansfer. It takes me one week to do one transaction, but still nothing has been changed. My account now is locked. I have use a computer instead to fix the problems. Wasting time and creating more frustration.

Decent bank but the app has so many bugs! The international transfer - send money doesn't work. Hard to browse through the app. I really hope it's fixed soon.

I am constantly asked to verify my device and it doesn't matter how many times i say trust it. It will ask it again. Recently something updated and now I can't enter my 2 step properly and it locked my account. I may be moving my money elseware.

Eq bank rates are awesome. The app works effiently most days, glitches take a few weeks the fix. They should do more testing when a updating the app.

No use at all, can't connect any external bank in hour. Once you get to verify from other bank, you can't back to eq and everything you did is gone. Should be no star, garbage app.

Used to use Saven Financial for a fraction higher interest rate but their app is HORRIBLE! So far EQ Bank app is slick. Works like it should.

Layout/presentation is fine. Navigation is annoying. It's 'flat', so regardless of where you've navigated the back button always prompts you to exit. If you want to get to the previous screen you need to re-navigate to it.

Was really good. well designed app. No longer opens. App says "please update to newest version to continue using" There is no update available. uninstalled and reinstalled, issue not resolved.

Very happy with my experience! Great interest rates, no fees, and deposit cheques by photo with the app.

Seems that the app has an issue in that it does not connect with the server on your end. Still an issue on April 16, 2021
