eQuake - Earthquake Alerts
Another feature of eQuake™ is its capability to use your phone as a sensor which contributes to the Zizmos earthquake warning system improving the coverage of seismic detection. The sensor mode only works when the device is charging and connected to a Wi-Fi network.
The app provides other features that give the user useful earthquake information.
Features include:
- Early detection of earthquakes and early warning of shaking expected in the area. Users in an affected area are notified that an earthquake has occurred, and shaking is expected, granting the user potentially crucial advanced warning.
- A map of recent earthquakes that have occurred worldwide which uses USGS databases for the latest information.
- An earthquake early-warning simulator feature. Allows the user to simulate Zizmos™ earthquake alerts on the phone using historical earthquakes in the vicinity of the current location.

Doesn't really work.... i downloaded this app because i live in Los Angeles and didn't know if this would work until an earthquake woke me up this morning. I got no alerts or notifications. All the alerts are turned on, not only that but it doesn't even register that an earthquake just happened, which by the way was quite a doozy lasting close to 10 seconds....by the way, I'm on android Pie.
The app no longer works. Earthquakes are no longer showing on the map (even when you select to show all magnitudes). Reinstalled it and now it says "Error during loading data" after multiple tries (and confirmed my internet connection was fine).
This app is HORRIBLE. I just had a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in California and this app gave me no notification. When I asked for support on why I am not receiving alerts they were no help at all and I am 100% sure that I set everything up correctly. I think the only way they will help me at all is if I write this 1 star review and even if they try to help, its to late. Uninstalling.
This app is unreliable and I will explain why(it doesnt work during a quake read more) advertising it as a warning app is unsafe and lulls people into a false sense of security. I live in Van Nuys CA, while I was feeling the 6.4 ridgecrest quake the app was unresponsive and showing no data for almost 30 minutes following the quake, It did the same thing when the 7.1 quake hit, I almost fell over in the one btw, as I was closer to the epicenter. dont use this app. I am now uninstalling it.
I won't use this app. One certain review sent me running: the one by A Google User, posted 7/23/19. Appeals for money that are impossible to turn off? Worse, the app trying to access banking information from the device? H*ll, no. Other negative reviews - most of which report that users never got any warnings - convinced me not to use the app. I want an app that can actually give me a warning. I'll keep looking, TYVM.
This App has potential, but does not update the earthquake feed info.. It's still giving notification bar alerts from September 2016. I've cleared cache and data... Same issue. 🤔
At my lacation there was a 4.2 aftershock/earthquake there has been several over the last few days. My app last posted on the 7th of April. I have gotten notifications but when I try to look at the list they're not on there. What to do.
This was my favourite alert app for many years, glad it's others as well, it sad that it stopped working, this was really the best! If this will ever be functional again I will download it immedietly Even if its not anymore, Im still giving it a 5 star for its service for years
This app does what it's supposed to. Alert you to earthquakes. If you have earthquake sensors I think it works with those as well. You can also simulate an earthquake. The mag if each earthquake is color coded. I would recommend this app to others.
Nothing showing up. I've had this app for 4 or 5 years and since the new update I get alerts for earthquakes but they dont show up in the notifications or the map. Its lame
OK. No mention of the small quakes near the FL/AL. Other apps show it, so I deleted. I did like the overall design of the app though.
Worked perfectly back then, not sure until when. It used to send updates mere seconds after a quake happens, but nowadays we don't get any updates even if the quake is really nearby.
Im from PR, currently we are in a very high sismic activity but it take to long after the event to report something. Other 3 apps works better and before the event. In the report page, the las report is from 9hr ago and we had like 5 mini events since then... Now we had a 6.0 Rich. Scale, it haven reported yet. The only cool thing it has is the real time sensor graphic.
easy to use, just wanted So-cal only & this app is the only one that offers specific areas. thankyou💜 app keeps freezing... so disappointed. Completely unusable
Pls check your notifications. I cannot receive notifications using my Samsung S8. I cannot be aware if an earthquake alert occured because no notifications pop up my S8.
Setup the app to notify me of quakes 3.0 or greater and locally a 3.5 quake happend but no notification. Also the settings dont work when chosing north america several quakes disappear from the list.
shows earthquakes about 15-60 minutes after they happen. Often has a hard time refreshing. Not really sure what the point is. my Facebook feed will tell me if there's an earthquake before this app will.
App has stopped working, I been using this earthquake app for awhile now. Its better than other apps in my opinion and now the earth quake map wont show any earth quakes and when I tried reinstalling now the app says failure to load.
This update in Jan 2020 has broken the app....I'm not seeing any notifications anymore... Nor can I see the map of earthquakes anymore either.... If it's not broken why fix/update it....?
we just had the 7.1 magnitude in California and the app is still showing yesterday's results. if you guys cannot build an app that people can rely on in emergency situation you should get a job and flip burgers
App failed to warn me two times during the last 2 earthquakes. And when I opened to check on it the app failed to load the newest quakes. Wouldnt rely on this app to warn you.
BEWARE! This app was awesome until it asked for a donation on a splash screen with no option to do it later or not give any money. So after hitting the back button to get away from the splash screen there were constant tries to debit money from accounts on my phone without permission! Complete failure on part of the developer! Had to uninstall the app. IN RESPONSE TO THE DEVELOPER: that is what happened. Review stays and Google play billing services are part of the permissions so it is possible.
