Escargot Drive is also capable of tracking real-time location events of your choice (for example, accidents, weather conditions, police speed traps, traffic jams, delivery addresses) and displaying event data live on supported radar detectors' screens.
You need to set up your own alerts web service, or use an alert service provided by somebody else to receive and display location alerts in Escargot Drive. The application allows flexible integration with RESTful JSON web services that support HTTP GET or POST requests.
Permissions:Escargot Drive needs: fine location, network, and bluetooth permissions. All other requested permissions are not used by the application, they are required for Google Maps to function properly.

I've now been using escargot drive for 3+ years since my original review. As the developer promised, there was an update issued in 2017 that fixed the BLE issue and the app has performed flawlessly. Things you should know: 1)This is not an app for you if you're not comfortable with a lot of configuration. 2)Waze integration works great once you configure this app properly. 3)Although the app links with your RD, it doesn't pull gps data from it, so if you're not seeing speed,map,etc. Turn gps on.
This developer is useless! He doesn't respond to emails when you have issues he hasn't updated the app on over a year! Stay clear!!!!Bluetooth keeps disconnecting and reconnecting so it doesn't show speed like it should.
The app is exactly what I was looking for. If you are having issues pulling data from Waze you need to make sure waze is downloaded first. This app points to the directory of that app and pulls data that way . This app is Not for people who are not tech savvy. There is a lot of customization that you can do and once it's all set up PROPERLY, it does it's job well!
Alerts aren't working. Other users online said the app is no longer worling and may need to be updated? I hope the developer will look into this. Seems like a fantastic app if working.
My Samsung Galaxy S9+ keeps losing the bluetooth connection with you app. Any fix for this?
It freezes up my galaxy s7 in landscape mode. Screen goes black after a few min or so of use
This does connect to the newest max 360, you have to put it in debug mode and manually select the radar detector.
I thought it uses Waze with live radar detectors, now they are saying in order to get live updates you need to get you feed from another source, what source should I pull from? I figured if I am paying then you should have that done! So basically your not using Waze nor are you getting others community radar detectors signal sharing unless you get ress feed? Am I getting this correct

Really liked the alerts preset! I wish there was a more obvious way to set up the PSL requests, I lurked around and could not find any easy copypaste solutions. Apparently, there is just no OSM coverage in my area. I can recommend looking into the way AutoMate/Velociraptor have solved that problem.
When are you going to update the app to support BLE. I have already purchased it to help support you in hopes of the update. It is worthless to me until you do.All of the new Smart Cords must have it. When can we expect the update to be released? Please Reply
The app will not detect the New Max 360. Hopefully this will be corrected in an update.
Can't get alerts to show on map have looked over YouTube and Internet items turn yellow not green
I followed all the settings on RD forum on two different phones I spent way too much time trying to make it work I am running the Max 360. Doesn't work! Don't waste your time or $$.
Good in theory but even though I setup to integrate with WAZE (probably no less than 20 times) to get alerts it does NOT work. Shouldn't be charging for this (version 1.9) which I'd classify as pre-beta in my books.

I really like this app! I do wish you could get the map to display in full landscape mode. Also, a way to clear the Alert History, can't seem to clear them.
May I suggest adding option on supplying custom icons for the alerts? :)
Is anyone still using the product in 2019?
