ESL Mobile Banking

The mobile deposit function captures the front of a check promptly and then refuses to capture the back. Switching from auto to manual doesn't help because "tap to capture" does nothing. So I waste a lot of time experimenting with backgrounds, lighting, supports to ensure the camera is steady, and maybe, maybe the app will capture the back of the check. Then it chooses to capture the back minus the endorsement and complains that there's no endorsement, so try, try again. Ugh.

There is a bug with the mobile deposit function. When a user takes a picture of the front of a check the software often incorrectly detects a torn edge or folded corner when there is none. This completely stops a user from depositing a check. Mobile deposit is one of the core functions of a banking app, and having it not function properly greatly decreases the value of this app as a whole. This is an enormous problem and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

ESL banking has been a pleasant experience for the past 5+ years..They are very pleasant and very helpful..I have not had any bad experiences with ESL..I continue to bank with them and I am pleased. I continue to be very pleased with ESL, their app. keeps me up to date on deposits, withdrawals and purchases on line, its easy to pay bills with my debit card or checking..

Very easy to use, best part is that it confirms what you want to do each step in case you made an inadvertant error., now it has been a year from my last review. I still love the ease of use. But it did inadvertantly delete my username, so that took a little time to rectify.

Constant downage it works fine usually and it gets the job done but about 3 times a month when it's down for HOURS is absurd. More of a server issue than an app issue but it stands Edit: As time has progressed the downage has gone down by quite a lot, now to the point of being hardly ever and so with that being said I have changed my review from 2 starts to 4 to mark the improvement

Always pleasant and convenient. However if i were going to be critical it would be the "mobile check deposit" glitches, and holds. Especially with more secure deposits like money orders and western unions under $500 that aren't made available in emergency cases. New or unrecognized payroll over $500.00 and personal checks, I can understand but the ladder should be made more convenient for valued members living paycheck to paycheck.

Very easy to work with whether on line or in person or on the phone... one less stress in my life thank you very much.👍🥰 if I have an issue I can call for help and a few times I have gone into my branch office and a real person has worked out all the details and i have always left with my problem solved and usually extra help given as well.🥰

When you log into the app you get a pop up at the bottom of the screen telling you the last time you logged on which doesn't disappear for at least 5 minutes. This gets in the way of transferring money because the numbers are right behind the pop up. Very annoying.

This app is horrible to use, I wish they could make it much easier to use but it either freezes up alot, when signing in at times it can't access the information at the time, transferring money from my account shouldn't be a hassle but this app makes it just that, its frustrating and embarrassing at times when going out and wanting to pay things but can't. It feels out dated compared to other banking apps. Wish it was more reliable.

Great app, easy to navigate and make payments and transfers. The secure chat is a great feature and the staff are helpful and have never failed to answer a question of mine.

ADORE THIS APP. It is so easy to use and works very well. I can deposit checks, transfer money between accounts, etc. Thank you ESL for a fantastic app.

Very easy to access the App!!! The features are easy to read and helps me to navigate different areas throughout the app!!! For example: I was looking to obtain and secure a car loan(that was within my budget) and directly in the app is a choice to apply for a car loan and I did!!! It didnt take me long to get APPROVED!!! AND not only that, but once I was approved, there was a section, in the app, that directed me to a link that provided different Automotive Dealerships!!! Thank you ESL!!!

I would have given 5 stars but this app is very finicky & has a mind of its own. Sometimes it works well, other times, no. However, mobile deposit is wonderful, when, if it works. It was better and more consistent til recently, but started downhill again. Now it's on freefall to bad!! It only works once in a while right now. They seem to do little to nothing to fix it. Sad bc they are a good to great financial institution. I hope they'll fix it so it works better. We're waiting & hopeful.

Very organized and convenient. My only complaint is that mobile check deposits have become very finicky; a few months ago I'd never have problems, but now almost every check I put through goes into review, and it often doesn't say why in the app. All my paychecks have to be deposited, and it's still more convenient than going to the bank, but it's still a bit annoying especially since it was never a problem before.

It's a decent app. The major issue I have is that in the bill pay area, you can't scroll through your payees on subsequent attempts. Every time you pay a bill and then click on "pay another bill" the app won't let you scroll to the bottom of the payee list. You have to log out and log back in everytime. Very frustrating.

I love ESL. I just switched here a few months ago and service has been amazing. Their customer service is great. They even called me the next day to see if my experience with them had been okay and if I needed any help with their app. Their app is easy to navigate and makes it easier to check balances, atm receipts accessible at any time. I am happy so far with my experience.

Had to take several photos for the micr # to register. The is nothing wrong with the check, and the exposure was good. Have not had this much problem before

Great bank and great app. Use it daily in some way or another. Easy to use for checking my accounts, bill and mortgage payments. Able to specify additional mortgage payment just to principle. Easy interface, good customer support. Safety features are great. App never crashes or is buggy in the years I've used it and that is impressive. Still need to login online on the website to add new bill payor, wish I could do that from app but it does encourage me to use regular login occasionally and once it's set up, Very easy to find new payor in my list.

mostly giving a bad review because of their mobile deposit app. It used to work so well before they updated it. Now i take a perfectly good picture of the check and it won't take. I have to trick the app half the time, laying darker items around the check or next to the edges to get the photo to be accepted-- and it's funny because my original pics are usually more legible. I'm just annoyed with having to spend soooo much time fiddling around to get the check to take.

I used to everything on the phone with the computer teller. This is so much easier! Bill pay is a breeze. Setup for it so simple. A great reminder to pay bills, they are all listed. But it is so worth the app just to have mobile deposit!!. Love not having to go to bank and wait at the drive through. I sincerely give 5 stars!!!!

Smooth app, never any problems. Transfers to and from separate accounts go smoothly, and quickly.

The app has always worked great in the past until I did a factory reset on my phone. Now all of a sudden my phone is incompatible because the android version is too old (5.0.1). It was working yesterday! Now it looks like I'll need a new phone or have to close out my ESL account as I no longer live in NY and it's my only way of continuing to bank with ESL.

I can not access my account. I need to do it quickly. The same text link keeps repeating . I entered my log in and it returned me to the same text. It is critical that I see my balance asap.. I have been on hold for close to 10 minutes and I couldn't even get my balance automatically from any choice. I have tried 3 times. The need for the app is a big frustration at this point. Now I don't even say "send" to provide my comment.

Mobile banking is the best ever. I rarely have to enter a bank anymore. I am living out of state now but I plan to keep my ESL accounts forever if possible. Without my app I would probably have to give up ESL and bank elsewhere.

Simple yet versatile, easy to navigate. I'm using it for years and had no problems so far. Excellent banking app.

This app is easy to navigate and the mobile deposit works great and is so convenient. I'm so glad I bank with ESL, they are customer and community oriented which is important to me.
