This app work best when speech n rate set to low. Use female voice. As well, app not meant 4 reading large text, instead used for words translation. 60 languages tts in one.
I find with some pitch and speed tweaking, it sounds good. Keys to this is to slow it down.
The Espeak Ap doesn't work on my 4.4 Kit Cat Tablet. Its a Samsung tab 4 and it should work!!! Please Fix it for I use it when I want my reading to be more responsive if I am in a hurry or need things to work really fast! Peace out I do like Espeak for productivity but crashing on my new Tab 4 Samsung is a 0 in my book... Fix this and I'll rate you a 5!
Cannot choose espeak as default tts. It says "unfortunately eSpeak TTS has stopped" and crashes. Device: Zenfone2
this good, this include built in TTS inside of apps , because my phone have not engine TTS in indonesia, but in this apps is there. just fix for speed of speech and some stuff advance setting for custom manually. thank you very much.
Frustrating. When you open the app, it asks whether you want to make it default tts. If you say NO, the app closes, if you say yes, it declares, 'unfortunately it is stopped'.
Speaks so fast and in very low quality voice that i cant even understand my mother tongue.
Plz add all indian languages. Mostly Marathi language for me and my frinds. Thanks for thise exlent app.
This is the worst TTS i've ever seen for android.. i wish i can give 0 stars to you dev..
the russian and french voices are so bad that you cannot even understand a single word. uninstalled.

I don't know but it was too fast for me. I changed everythung yet its to fast to understand.
To understand English set the speech rate to very slow. Sounds better when tts settings are launched from espeak app

Crashes upon start on my Moto G2 ANDROID 6.0. So I can't tell if the app is good or not.
It was horrible. I didn't understand a word it said. The speech synthesis that was originally installed(and still is) was way better. I think even if they made it better, I still wouldn't use it.
The quality of this speech engine is the lowest quality I have ever heard on any system... anywhere! This includes the early 1980s TTS. Just awful...don't bother.

If you want a drunken robot on speed while getting kicked repeatedly in the nuts talking to you then this is the voice you've been looking for. Jeez at least add a tone adjustment so it can be made to sound like a cool robot.
Even in slowest payback the voice. I agree with other post, it sounds like manic robot with way too much caffeine. Imperceptible. Uninstalled!!

This engine is bettter than Google textt to speech. I am blind and autistic and sometimes when the text to speech doesn't respond right away or at all I get worried and panic. I didn't have that problem with Google but I had it with ivona. Espeek is reliable and quick and talks fast. I like it to read fast because I understand the text when it is fast or slow, and I think normal, when it reads something in normal speed, or slow, is too slow for me. Even very fast on Google is slow compared to this TTS. Only issue is they need more options for voices rather than just the 2 origional robots, but I can't complain because for me it's perfect and frustration free and easy to use and adjust! Espeek rocks!
