Essentials of Fire Fighting 7th Edition

I don't normally leave reviews for apps but thought this needed pointing out. Waste of money. Just spent $79 on a digital version of a book I already have, assuming that the audio book and practice tests were included in that price. You have to buy it all separately which is ridiculous. Don't waste your money. The 'buy' buttons in the app are very misleading and is a poor business model not clearly explaining it. Edit: After contacting support, they are not willing to offer any form of refund.

Just downloaded the app and purchased the interactive courses. When I try opening them and going through the "screens" I only get the first screen and I am unable to move on to the next screen. Tried opening and closing and then re-opening the app and the course but I am still stuck on the first page. Very upset since I paid $25 for these courses and I can't do anything with them.

I enjoy most of the features but it would be nice to be able to see past exam attempts and use them as study guides not just a percentage of correct per chapter. That would be a good add on update for the cost of all the categories that had to be purchased. Also add more information why your answer was wrong and the other was correct

Purchased the lessons but unable to complete because the text doesn't line up properly. Great reference material for the ones that display though!

The practice exams are great for review but I just paid double the price for access to the interactive courses too and it only let's me access the first page or video from every course I can't get into anything.

Great so far, bought all the audio sessions but cannot download the audio. Even trying to download one episode with over 6gb free on my phone it says "Download failed not enough free space" Please help!

Love the app, but for the audio book I wish they would have better headphone support. I can increase and decrease the volume fine, but id really like the ability to pause the audio to. It is very annoying to have to use the drop down menu to pause it especially if I'm trying to do something and have to pull my phone out and unlock it first. Will raise to 5 star if they fix this.

This app is pretty good, I've been searching for a while for up to date content on audiobook and was happy I found this. I'd definitely recommend investing in yourself by purchasing the content, especially if you spend a lot of time commuting, nothing like the two birds one rock combo. A few things, some "courses" frames have incomplete text where a sentence gets cut short, of the two narrators, the dude sounds like he's reading to kids. Otherwise an excellent recommendation to get ahead!!

I purchased the audio books and the practice exams before the update and everything was great. This new update came along and it freezes constantly making the apps inoperable 90% of the time. The other 10% the app isn't frozen I can't even access the content I paid for. This is very frustrating considering it worked just fine the way it was. If I can't get what I paid for, I want a full refund.

This app has taken even a worse dive after the update. Prior to the update the app functioned OK but would freeze 20 minutes into the audio books. Now after the last two updates I've completed with the new interface it will not play the audio chapters at times and freezes even more often. Personally I don't like the new interface in general. When I can get audio to play the time scroll is not user friendly. There's more I'd like to add but do not have room.

Doesn't fully work on Galaxy s9+. I purchased the audiobook which works perfectly. I also bought the course section. This section does NOT work. I am unable to navigate to the next slide after the video portion. (Edit) my error. Not the developer. The pages are timed. Great app follows the book. Helped quite a. It actually.

Invaluable! For those who learn visually and audibly together. This study guide seems to follow the textbook word for word so far. Yes there are fees, but first it's worth the extra help. And second, someone had to create the material. I agree, the fees might be a little steep, but well worth it in the end of it helps.

Sums up the book pretty well. I'd enjoy the app a lot more if there was a way to view the slides in an upright position via my phone. Haven't been able to open the app with my laptop. That would also be a nice feature. Overall great study tool. I always enjoy the exam prep questions.

Is it possible to access purchased content on a new device? I bought the practice questions on the app on my old phone but can't access them on my new phone. Any help would be great, thanks!

Cant use on multiple devices. Would have been good to know prior. Great app otherwise but id like to use it more. EDIT* APP works great on Android devices, my tablet is Android and I like the larger screen to review the course material. As far as the audio book goes I would rather use my phone which is an iPhone, id rather not have to pay for the same information twice.

I really like the app but find it pretty frustrating and scummy that I already paid so much for it ($42.99!) and just figured out they want MORE money for the practice exams. I also had a lot of trouble downloading the audiobook chapters. I would have given it a better rate if it wasn't so ridiculously expensive for only a portion of the app.

My Academy didn't teach much from ifsac material so I used the exam prep to supplement my studying in the weeks prior to the exam. I probably went through 800 exam prep questions and was getting consistently decent scores. Almost none of the prep material covered was on the test. If I could get my $15 back I would demand it; what a scam.

App was wo working perfectly up until the most recent update. I paid for full access prior to the update, Now I'm unable to play the majority of the audio books and it says i must pay again.

Absolutely what I needed to study for my BOF. Not nearly as much reading and very interactive. I wish they had a "one price unlocks everything" option. But even paying for the courses, tests, etc. It was well worth my money.

Content is really good but... microtransactions.... I wish that purchasing the app gave full access instead of partial. We buy the book already, but having to buy the full access to the good content also on the app is kinda frustrating. 37.99 for audiobook (what I bought) 24.99 for course slideshows 14.99 for practice exams

Some buttons and videos don't work in the interactive section. App design can use some work

CAUTION! This is a $40 flash card app. The textbook chapters are on unresponsive screens and cannot be completed. The only section of the app that works is a 73-image "Name This Tool" flashcard program. And, sadly, IFSTA is as unresponsive as their app screens.

I got the audiobooks like everyone else. I didn't even make it through one chapter before it stopped working. I can't download any chapters either. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and restarted my phone. This app is a joke. I want my money back if you aren't going to fix it. This is apparently a well documented, on going issue. Why it hasn't been fixed yet is beyond me.

It was $10 for 6th edition, which was a larger more comprehensive book. Another monopoly pulling a money grab. If the content was more in depth and useful for seasoned firefighters, it might be worth it. If only J&B would up their game...IFSTA you really stand out in your field when you're alone. How about writing above a 6th grade level?

If it wasn't for the Exam prep and the audio books I would have failed Fire Academy. While it's pricy to get them, it's worth it. I wish the price was lower for everything to be included but the ease of listening to the audio books and studying on exam prep was worth it.
