Great Bible app. It has multiple study Bible options and account syncing settings to sync across multiple devices. It also provides multiple devotional options, and reading plans. I have only just begun using it, but so far it is a great looking, useful Bible app.
Best bible app I've used so far, unfortunatly it keeps crashing once I try to open the concordance and at some other time I try to download the in content ...please developer aid me in this matter... Am using a Techno phantom 8 android version 7 ... I'll truly appreciate your urgent response to my challenge with this app by rating it as a five star app , thank you for your time and commitment.
Hello guys I am not happy at all with the new appearance of the ESV Bible app. How come that the ESV Bible app logo has been replaced with some kind of a bug icon? Which is a bit awkward in its appearance, after this app has been updated. I am hoping that you can fix it. Thanks
The best design I've ever seen in a bible app, it's convenient, the colors are sublime, love the translation and the cool nips and tricks. Overall everything about the app is divine, it deserves my five stars
Nice, but navigation could use some work. Also, it crashes when trying to open cross references.
This is a love app to use when I can't have my bible with me. I just wish it included the grant horner reading plan. Its probably my favorite and having to use 2 separate apps for it is annoying.
Ok ,I don't know ,I don't know much about crossway Bibles but I was suddenly reminded to check my emails and I found it .I once or twice got emails and led to install the app . 😊So I am installing it.
Very difficult to navigate from one book of the bible to another. The old app was easier to use. uh
There is a problem with the Daily light on the Daily path reading plan. It started since the last app update. Please look into it?
The original bible was 100% better than this app. Sometimes the features work sometimes they don't. It's very frustrating when sitting in church trying to focus on the message and trying to take notes and it won't open. The features are so intermittent i give up. The version that before this was 100% better, it was a joy to use. The highlighter changed from a bright yellow to 0a dull gray, that you can hardly notice. 03/10/2022 highlighting is still almost non-existent. Please fix!!!!!!!!!!!
3/22 update. The "update" is still awful. Cross references still dont work. Still Crashes. It lost all my years worth of notes and highlights. Extra clicks required to search. Number of every chapter overwrites the text so its not readible. The old version was a 5 star. The update is not useful now. No warning nor opt-out option of the forced update.
Easy to read, and spiritually uplifting and now I have the app on my phone so now when I'm out and about I can read or hear the gospel of my LORD JESUS CHRIST, AMEN...
Very easy to navigate, very readable, awesome translation.
1. Do a word search, e.g. for "priest" 2. Click on a result to see fuller context 3. At this point selecting the Back button fails to return me to the search results
Love the app. Very helpful. There is a problem however with adding notes. How do you save notes after writing in it? I can't figure it out. Besides, the underline function doesn't work properly as far as I can tell. Once enabled, it will keep underling everything even after I disable it. I don't need to underline everything, just a sentence or two but the function keeps underlining everything.
I use the cross references a lot and find about 20% of them to be wrong. They don't take me to where they say they will or they take me there but the reference heading is wrong. Psalm 119 never works at all. I also find errors in verse numbers where the font has been switched for a cross reference and not switched back. I have downloaded the update. Maybe that will help. Let me know where to report errors and I'll be happy to help. Update: THEY FIXED ALL OF IT! YAY! Thanks so much!
It takes a bit to get used to the new navigation; I find it has as many improvements as it does failures. The biggest issue I have with the Android version is there is no way to exit the app. That is my reason for giving this a 3-start instead of a 4-star rating. 2023 Update The navigation is very much improved! The Library is a nice new feature. This Bible application now has everything I need. Thank you for continuing to invest in this product.
Had app 3 days. Closed multiple times. Checks off plan reading before it's done. Didn't like that I have to click through the plans available to get to mine every time. Figured I'd just use a hard copy of the plan, but the printout of the Every Day plan is different than one on app - the app is missing the chronicles and prophets for at least the first 3 days. Love that there's a library option. Disappointed overall. Will find something else.
Update: The app has gotten much better and easier to use and navigate the options. I'm upping my rating to4 stars. Old rev App is totally wonky! Can't navigate smoothly on my samsung tablet. Love the PC desktop version. This version on my samsung tablet is an exercise in frustration. Can't even effectively navigate from one book of the bible to the next. Why even offer this version if you're not dedicated to making it work? I loooove my ESV study bible so this is beyond disappointing....so sad!
Excellent translation. Latest app update has an astonishing flaw: there's no longer a way to change the size of the tiny font. In addition, it's now extremely difficult to open the footnotes. And when you do manage to open them, the cross references work only intermittently. On top of that, the back button is disabled. Together, these changes dramatically reduce the app's usability.
I enjoy the new look. However, the book name looks like a header and not a navigation link. It wasn't intuitive and took reading responses from the developer to review to figure it out. The developers need to consider putting a little arrow or something next to the book name to indicate that's where you click to quickly navigate between chapters and books. Also, the search function doesn't work for me. I put in the search and nothing loads, just a blank screen.
Love this app. Runs fine on Android 9. Have used this for years. Not sure I want to update it, I love its simplicity so much. Not interested in any "features," except audio reading, and certainly not interested in permissions that come with the update. This app has been great as it is. The only 2 things I would change would be a more thorough search function (results usually too broad, or absent), and a more direct way of navigating between books and chapters (rather than scrolling).
best Bible I have ever had! If listening to a sermon, and a scripture is mentioned, looking the scripture up is almost instant. Fast and simple! Jan 29, 2020: I had to get a new phone. When I installed the ESV Bible on the new phone, it was not the same as the version on my old phone. This one is not as easy to navigate and the text is smaller. It is still a little bit better than some other ESV apps, but I'm still searching. It was perfect. Why change it?! Have to change my rateing.☹🤨
This update has spoiled a good app. Also greatly increased it in size (because you are downloading audio as well as text). When I use audio the app become unresponsive. Very disappointing. A good app has been made almost unusable! Bring it back as it was!! Make the audio an optional feature which is not automatically downloaded. One new feature I do like is the facility to search for a word or phrase. But on the whole, the old version was superior. And why is it not possible to copy text???
The 'original' version of this app was great - simple and user-friendly. This newer version is needlessly complicated, has a font that's difficult to read on a smartphone, and makes navigating between books/chapters incredibly cumbersome. I wish there was a way to uninstall the update and go back to a time when highlighting a verse was a 2-step (as opposed to a five-step) process.
Audiobook in 2 voices, Search, Very Readable, Trusted translation. Far better than any Kindle Book. Little to no editorializing. The highlighting/notetaking is clunky. Click the header at the top to see the table of contents and a list of the individual books. This is an app I will invest time in and will use regularly. The audio alone is worth a great deal.
