Etar - OpenSource Calendar

Great app! Suffices all my needs. My only issue is that when i try to edit a weekly event, there's no option to edit that single instance of the weekly event, i need to change that event and all future events. I think it used to be possible to change a single event of the series, but maybe it was never possible. I hope this can be fixed in the future

It's a good, simple, easy to use, calendar app. It would be better if there were more than 6 color choices for the app itself and the widget, as the existing options are limiting

Very good. Just can't find how to stop Google calendar from also sending me reminders. If I stop either from accessing my etasync calendar they both stop. If i enable etar, google cal also enables them.

It works fine with Open Sync (free), but recommends Davx5 (costs money unless you know how to get it outside of Google play). It could just implement a simple CalDav client internally, and I would rate it 5 stars.

I found it to be very useful and functional. Only gripe is zoom in is restricted to vertical not horizontal.

The lack of the widget is the reason I am giving only 3 stars. The App is wonderful, but the removal of the widget is something that I don't really understand... Thanks to the old widget, the integration with my launcher was very good. Third parties are really not the same. Please enable it again. It would be nice if you add "Calendar" to the app's name (e.g. "Etar Calendar"), so if I search for "Calendar", this app will be displayed (I often forget that I have to search for Etar to find it).

Very good calendar app, using it as my main calendar app. Two issues: 1. In month view if i click on event, calendar gives not a event details but goes into day view and requires second click to view details. Not convinient. 2. When phone goes to landscape orientation all events disapear, calendar is empty. When back to portrait i can see events again. Thank you if you try to fix this problems.

Hello, I really loved the calendar and its functions. However I think I'm having issues with event editing— I can't change the color of the event in my local calendar, as the color prompts are not showing up. I hope this bug gets fixed.

Excellent calendar. Very good app. Lightweight. You can see holidays, add events, and take notes on each event. Events can be added as per the hours of the day. Optionally, this calendar can be synchronised with the Google account with another app.

Was good while it had a widget. Without one it's pretty barebones. One annoyance was always inability to specify custom remind time. Other than that - reasonable and appeals to those who prefer streamlined, non-catoonish UIs. Moving away as the widget was the main way i used this app.

I installed this app to escape the hideous cartoon pictures that Google calendar uses as the background to month headers. I'm generally happy with Etar but unfortunately there are instances where dates are rendered in the ridiculous US format, eg while creating a new event. Should be easy for the developer to fix.

Keeps asking me to login to a google account to sync a google calendar. The whole point was that I needed a calendar and reminder app which has nothing to do with google. And why should I trust an indie dev to access a google account? Unbelievable. I scheduled a reminder when it was first installed and it didn't even trigger too. Fortunately, it was a test one. Useless.

Installed, opened, granted permissions and then it crashed the first thing I tried to do. Would not reopen at all. Uninstalled, reinstalled and exactly the same experience. Totally unusable. Lenovo Tab4, Android 7.1.1

Please return the widget. It was great, and the widget was the main feature for me: compact, resizeable and informative. Widgets from other apps are not so good.

The best calendar. Tried lots of open and closed source apps until I realised I need no extra frills but the basic functionality must be convenient. Keep up the great work!

Easily the best widget of any OSS calendar app, and the general look and feel of the app is top-notch professional. Snappy, pretty, and features simple integration tools for any accounts!

No widget, terrible. Also when I click on an event in the month view it just takes me to the agenda page, not the event like a normal calendar would do. So it requires two taps to get to an event, ridiculous.

Never a problem with Etar! Main benefit? Syncs well (I use EteSync) and no internet permission. Truly a great app. (I do wish there was a way to export.)

A great app for calendars, but unfortunately it won't sync with Google Calendar unless I have Google Calendar still installed. Trying to force sync doesn't work either.

Supports local calenders, and vertical month scroll! Themes are so-so and events take a long time to pop in on scroll, but it's functional which is better than 99% of the others.

This is ridiculous. This app does absolutely nothing. You try to add a calendar and it insists on outsourcing the function to other apps. Why am I ordering from Dominos if they're sending the order to Pizza Hut?

Love the app there is a single feature which would make this the perfect app. If the app had support for google tasks and the ability to tick off tasks.

Widget is only agenda view, I need monthly. Agenda is useless to me. Cannot add events from month view. Often forced to change view when app opens to agenda view.

Great little app. I use it as alternative to the standard program for local calendars without sync.

I wanted an open source calendar to get away from privacy issues, but this app requires that you link and synch with a Microsoft, Google, Facebook or Lenovo account for you to even place an event in the calendar, and so what should be one of the major benefits of open source is not present in this app.

Got this app to try to use it as a workaround for the calendar notification sound.....but the notification sound won't change from the default in this app either.....

Excellent calendar with the feature I needed : import from CalDAV from my self hosted nextcould Calendar. And it looks clean and easy to use

Good but should have custom reminder, not just 0 min to 1 week. Sometimes I have a bug, when I change the week all my event disappear. To fix that I go to another week and comeback. LG G5
