Cute and playable but flawed and very limited retro JRPG. It's quite short and the story is very basic. Combat is simplistic and repetitive and there's a LOT of it. There are no side quests. You can be given impossible boss fights, where your only option is to die and re-roll them. You can accidentally (or deliberately!) skip large parts of the main quest by going straight from the second dungeon (dragon plateau) to the fifth (the mine in the desert). There are minor bugs (NPC selling the wrong item or with wrong text) which I guess will never be fixed since the last update was in 2014.
After playing the game for a bit I agree with the other reviewers about ranged combat. It's overpowered. If it was reduced, I'd believe the combat would be too slow and painful because melee is time consuming. A lot of time is wasted moving, waiting for the monsters to move, moving, etc. Could be a fun game but the combat is very flawed. Either use all range to speed battles up, or don't waste your time playing.
I absolutely LOVE this RPG! Overall, along with GURK and Etermal Lux I'd say its the game that most resembles something that would have come out in the era of Dragon Warrior and the original Final Fantasy. And it deserves a whole lot of credit for its interface, storyline, and pixel graphics. A +++ takes me right back to the days when i would sit with my NES plugged into a giant wood paneled TV with a a blanket over the window and waste weeks of my childhood with games it. 🤓👽🤖
Only been playing for a day and it looks to be ok. What I don't like, and its worth taking off a star, is that it seems very small to look at. Move the controls to the bottom of the screen and make the dialogue boxes bigger. They are next to impossible to read. I'll decide what to do with the 5th star when I've played it some more.
Eternal Lux is on the same level as a previous game of this developer, Aidinia. Some things are better (exploration, fight) and some are worse (many bugs, you still can't move items in your inventory). Overall, Eternal Lux is an entertaining retro game and I recommend it to every old school games maniac.
It MIGHT be a good game (opening screen looks promising) but when starting, the fonts are so small as to be unreadable, and there is no option to turn off the music. I can't get past these flaws.
Please make more like this! I'm looking for games like Ultima for android and this is the closest experience I have found. Please make another one! Maybe with character generations next time because I love the freedom that brings to an Rpg. This is a fantastic game! So much love went into making it I can tell. Keep up the great work!
How can you possibly play this on a phone ? The game play screen is about 2 inch by 2 inch , and you can barely read any script , plus can't find any settings ! For enlargement etc . Can't comment on gameplay as it was pointless trying to play ! ....Might be ok on a tablet.
I don't understand why this is rated so low. This game is simply awesome. Great UI and gameplay. The retro graphics are a sight to behold. Although I've only been playing for a short while, I have nothing but good things to say about this game. 5/5 EASILY
I have not been able to play the game because I tap on it it says it is not responding,by the screenshots and by the reviews I can tell this game it is worth having,This is basically the recarnation of Legend of Zelda except made in this century i believe,if you could fix this i will appreciate it.
like others have said, it's too small. the interface takes up only half the screen so it's pretty compressed and hard to see what's going on
A fun, great game. The graphics are very nice, gameplay is fun, and there is a lot of content for you to enjoy. It's good to play on trips since it's offline.
Too much wasted space on the bottom of the screen, and view of the game is too small, other than that very fun.
this game is epic!!!! my favorite, but unfortunately how come i cannot save the game? if re enter the game, my saved game is not there and i have to start from beginning again 😢
As long as there are no game breaking bugs this is 5 stars. Love the pixel graphics. Please add in iOS store.
I would have given it 5 star if the game itself wouldn't have stopped at after 1 day. Very story oriented 😄
Rpg that lets you keep your stuff. Has automatic saving. Tiny and runs well on potatoes.
It didn't even load at all and I tried about 5 times but it just said "Eternal Lux" keeps stopping" 😢
I LOVE IT 10/10 I WAS ACTUALLY CRAVING FOR GAMES LIKE THIS AND SO LUCKY I FOUND IT. IT GIVES ME MOTIVATION TO BUILD MY OWN GAME
i don't under stand this stuipet game
I think it is one of the best rpg game I have ever played.

I just love it.
Great little simple classic RPG. Plays like the Gurk games , with graphics like early Ultima games. Interface and game mechanics have some quirks, but if you can get past that, it's still a fun little game. My biggest complaints are that there is no Auto-map and that combat is kind of tedious. I'm going to check out the author's newer games and see if he improved.
