How does it work?
===============
EteSync integrates seamlessly with your existing apps. All you need to do is sign up (or run your own instance), install the app, and enter your password. After that, you will be able to save your contacts, calendar events and tasks to EteSync using your existing Android apps, and EteSync will transparently encrypt your data and update the change journal in the background. More security, same work-flow.

I want to like this app on principle, but it just doesnt work properly for me. Set up and initial sync of contacts seems to work fine, can see in contacts app, but after some time the contacts app just shows an empty address book even tho the sync journal shows the contacts have synced & should be there. I have tried clearing data, reinstalling, same thing happens every time. I use a self hosted server rather than the paid service, so maybe this app just doesnt work so well with custom servers.
This is a fantastic app with great developer support! I've been using it without issue for several months now. I've fully transitioned my contacts and calendar!
Great idea. Important privacy/ security tool. BUT respectfully at $24/yr for storage of just contact and calendar data, THE SERVICE IS OVERPRICED. For the cost of a family, one could deploy an entire service on a VPS. The clould storage providers can easily and should provide this or a similar function as part of their core service package. Or perhaps you can partner with them. Good luck.

initial setup on a Mac home computer was a little challenging, but once set up it works great
tasks very bugged. sometimes tags, sometimes others. atleast contacts works well.

GDPR - currently I'm protected until December 31st 2020. Will I still be after the is date, as you many have readed how Google is moving UK users to the US. What is the scopes for yourselves. I'm also confused as to why the delevoper address say your in Israel and on the main website it says your based in the UK but servers in Austria.

Brilliant design, insanely easy to use. Had my Google contacts and calendars ported over and synced back to my phone as the default new contact/event service. This app has done more to help users get off the Googleapplefacebookmicrosoft 'soma' than almost anything I've seen, while still allowing users to maintain an essentially identical workflow. Shalom!
Maybe I just wasn't patient enough, but I just needed a simple app for notes sharing and I couldn't make it work with EteSync Notes - e.g. I don't understand how collections in EteSync are related to task lists in EteSync Notes but they are not in sync. Perhaps it is just my ignorance, but I expect a more intuitive workflow for such a simple job.
