Études bibliques

Biblical studies are the academic study of the Judeo-Christian Bible and corresponding texts.

For Christianity, the Bible traditionally includes the Old Testament and the New Testament, which are sometimes called the Holy Scriptures.

Judaism recognizes as Scripture the Hebrew Bible, also known as Tanakh, which is an acronym for the Hebrew names of its divisions: Torah (Law), Nevi'im (Prophets), and Ketuvim (writings). Other texts are often studied by biblical scholars: the Jewish apocryphal, the Jewish pseudepigraphs, the Christian apocryphal, the many kinds of pre-Nicene literature of primitive Christianity, and the primitive Jewish literature.

Biblical studies consist mainly of exegesis and hermeneutics.
