Etymology Explorer

It's a great app that not only help me to learn English , but also motivate my interest in some other languages and cultures. I have a little suggestion, could you add a function to let the fonts' size adjustable? For example, make pages can be stretched. I think it'll be helpful for people whose eyesight is not so good. Thanks very much.

I just have a passing interest in etymology and this app is like the "thing" that I've been looking for my entire life to explore this topic the way I want to. I even bought the Premium version almost immediately because of how polished it is. Just being able to bounce and bump around the different words and their associations and see the visual links is very satisfying. Excellent work on this app ♥️

I'm speechless... the possibility this app gives you of searching children words in other languages is extraordinary! This helps you memorizing better both the primitive and derivative words, of different languages. Very interesting the Family Explorer feature too. Will you add the web-app? It's more comfortable on the computer :D

Very nice interface, but proto-indo-european needs improvements. For example, for *méǵh₂s-, it doesn't have the Greek word "μέγας". In fact, it only has english cognates. This seems to be the case with other roots as well. This app has very good potential, and it will have even more if this gets fixed.

Excellent application. Great UI. Very useful and easy to use. Best quality app in the same category. I love how you can search in many different languages. The language tree charting and the ability to go in and inspect every roots is extremely useful.

This is one of my favorite apps out there. I've downloaded several etymology apps but I love the random word feature as well as the different visualizations available for the history of each word. I absolutely adore the ease of the use and UI. Great work to the developers!

Phenomenal!! This app is so very well put together, I'm immediately engrossed in the information upon opening it up. The knowledge within is both accessible and plentiful! I really love using this app, and I would rate it 5 stars, but there are some glitches where it does not display the full etymology and some modern words have no etymology. I am aware that the team is working on that, but until then, 4 stars.

Excellent! The breakdown and resources used to explain the words are flawless. Extremely easy to see, especially for those of us who love words but are losing sight. Thank you for creating this educational and entertaining app

I've always been interested in the origin of the words that we use from day to day. Knowing that the English language is a "mishmash" of Latin, Greek, German, Spanish, Italian, and... well, it's a mishmash all right - i often times wonder about a particular word and what it originally meant. What language it came from. How it's meaning changed. Etymology Explorer scratches all of those itches.

The first experience of the app is a countdown pressuring me to sign up for recurring payments within thirty minutes before the price goes up. Wow. I haven't even used the app at all yet. Immediately uninstalled.

What a wonderful way to explore language. This app provides an endless stream of information with no distraction and no filler. Beautifully presented. I could enjoy this for hours and often do. Exceptional

Works fine. My only pet peeve is that longer words are not completely visible at once, and needs to be opened separately to scroll the length of the word and read it. I'm sure a quick code fix will resolve this. Thanks.

Not easy to use. Too little contrast between text and background making it difficult to read or determine what is a link. Also the flow chart was confusing to me.

Love the app! But since the latest upgrade, the word of the day notification push notification doesn't link to the word (on android). Also, something weird is up with the words of the day list, where older words of the day appear as upcoming words, so the latest word of the day is not the current day.

This app is quite unique. It provides "tree" for a word's origins which is visually appealing to me. The developer has left no stones unturned to polish the app to make it as good and useful as possible. As a logophile, I heartily recommend this app to fellow logophiles and urge them to support the developer, if possible.

I love this app. Coming from India, it is the way of life here to see words as inseparable from divinity. Each of these words changing themselves over time is fascinating, and in this app I've found a great way to delve into the secrets all these words carry within them.

This is really a very good Etymology Explorer. It really helps a lot for meaning into deep concept through digraphic boxes leading to the end structure.

I've started using the app and am already in love. User friendly interface. Excellent detail. Accurate information. The only app, of many, that has Excellent and Reliable etymological information.

Fantastic app, easy to navigate. I used it a while ago and my issue was that the vocab was limited but they fixed that issue very quickly.

I love words and this is a FANTASTIC app to get lost in! The UI is easy to use and each category of exploration is extremely useful and well-laid out!

The App is an important tool in my study of Portuguese language. It helps me to refer Portuguese to my knowledge of Latin based languages thus helping me to expand my vocabulary.

Havent had any problems as of yet. I've used the app for a free weeks now. Segundo the best I've found so far.

Rating 5* because I love the concept, the work, and the heart. That said, the subscription cost is shockingly off-base (5.49CAD/mo). There are also some UX improvements that could be made, but I'm happy the app exists :)
