It's a pretty decent app, but lately I've noticed that it will skip turns randomly. I find that it ruins the game for me so I'm going to wait and see if there's an update that fixes the game or find a different euchre app. I will edit this review if/when a fix is implemented.
Love euchre this game is fun.. would be better if u can play online with real people I did give it 4 stars ..but had to change it because it'd constantly crashing and closing now when u reset the statistics...u guys need to fix this cause it's super annoying 😒
It's a good, solid Hasenpfeffer variant of the game of Euchre. One of the few that I've found that keeps the phone in an upright position while allowing the player to go under. The UI isn't as intuitive as it could be, the graphics are very Microsoft Hearts 98, and the large ad at the bottom is off-putting. But for a free euchre game, very very good.
Somehow it's stacked in it's favor. For example; nearly every time you lead a card the opponents are void in that suit, but the reverse never seems the case. I just deleted for the 3rd time. I wanted to see if it was just chance. Nope! This last time the computer called the suit just about every time, and i just sat there watching it beat me over and over. I had this app for years, and it was great. But, recently, something's changed. It's frustrating.
I love the set up and options for this game. It's easy to use and very customizable. But that's where my love ends. The game frequently favors the computer, giving them great cards at a much higher rate than would ever happen in real life. While I seem to almost always be dealt 3 or more 9's and 10's. It just makes playing it very boring. Don't recommend.
New algorithm makes it harder to win. The other pair can be at one point and you at 9 pts and they will still win. Have to make daring plays to try and win. Also, although the ads aren't long. Would definitely pay for an Ad Free option as the sound on the ads is so loud. Don't want all media sound turned off just to play the game. Enjoy listening to other things while playing. It is enjoyable and have been playing this game via this App for years.
all in all, its a good euchre app. nice controls, easy to play. AI is pretty good. Two features I'd like to see: 1) easier way to quickly show last hand. i play on very fast settings. Sometimes the cards flash by so fast i miss them. show last hand button would help 2) replay previous hand. i like to test out different strategies. other apps allow for replaying the last hand without changing points. its a great way to train if you can replay the same hand 4 or 5 times.
I've recently moved to the west coast and no one plays euchre so I had to find an app that I could play. This app was a little confusing at first but only because I wasn't playing close enough attention. Iove how customizable it is and it's helped me become better at playing the game tremendously. Would highly recommend to anyone wanted to play on the go. There are adds but I barely notice them because they're at the bottom of the screen.
Love this game but now whenever the ad at the bottom of the screen loads, the gray background of the score section turns black, making it impossible to tell clubs from spades when they are trump. It just started doing this. It's definitely something to do with the ad because if I turn off Wifi and the ad can't load, it looks fine.
Great game features and customizability. It's just a little harsh on the eyes, it could use a little softening. I think smaller cards would help, they're right on top of each other. Maybe have a simpler design on the cards too. Solve that issue and maybe add a little animation in taking the trick to see who won and I'd love to come back.
Absolutely garbage. The computers (my partner and opponents) make completely asinine calls that nobody in real life would EVER make. You almost NEVER get even a moderate hand as the dealer. The one redeeming aspect is there's no ads. Other than that, it's one of the most frustrating games I've ever played on any platform, board games included.
This game is fantastic in learning how to play. I love the variety of gameplay options available. The only thing I would like to see change is that each time a new game is started, the dealer moves one position counterclockwise to make it more realistic, like you would play with your friends. Each time I start a new game, it nearly always starts to the left of me, which is a bummer. Other than that, great game!
The other players Rob the kitty too many times. And my partner passes up right bars to often and gets set too often, each opponent can cut a different suit almost every hand get real
This game was good at first Then I started noticing that the hands were getting progressively worse. Out of a 10 hand game half would have 4 9s and 10s and maybe a queen. The computer players would get great hands, multiple loners ect and I rarely would have any trump cards or face cards. Tried adjusting the settings and got no where. I dont want a game where I am essentially just following a computers lead. No fun, no challenge.
LOVE this game!!! BUT Im SOO tired if it being Stacked against opposing players. Come in Jeffrey, its getting pretty ridiculous and want to keep playing But will prob delete it not modified. Winning should happen on BOTH teams!! Dont U think?
Have played hundreds of games with this app and like the graphics the best of any I've tried. But over the last month something has changed and winning a game has become much less likely. And the number of loners being called by my opponents is at a ridiculous level. To say this is all random is not believable to me. I had really been enjoying playing the game and now it is simply no fun.
It definitely favors your opponents. I never saw so many perfect lay down hands on my right or on my left, and the only time I get such a hand is when I can't make it the trump suit. The law of averages would give me a far better grouping of the same type of card plays. That tells me that the deck is stacked. All the same, I usually end up winning but it's point by point by point instead of 4 points at a time. It definitely stacked. Also, I am frequently dealt all nines and tens. Ridiculous.
I like this version. As noted by others, the Android version 9 update (with One UI), causes some grief. What I've found is that the 'Pass' button doesn't respond right away. Sometimes the Trump selection window is skipped as well (maybe from pressing Pass button repeatedly?).
Fun. Really feels like the computer cheats. Computer often bids the best hand for his partner and not himself.
Nice graphics and settings. One setting I would like is to have an option to tap the screen to cause the cards from the current play to disappear instead of the cards disappearing automatically. At age 65 I would like a little time to remember what was played before proceeding to the next lead.
I mostly enjoy playing it but I'm going to uninstall it. The banner ads, especially one from Audible, cause the screen to flash. It never used to happen but now it does it all the time. Not pleasant at all so will search for an alternative.
User rarely can pick up. Opponents ALWAYS can trump user's off-suit singleton aces, but theirs will almost always play. I've gone stretches of several complete games without being able to pick up. Opponents get many more 5-trick hands than user. It's just not close enough to real life play to be interesting.
Very frustrating. The computer generated partner you are given is useless. The deals are clearly not random as the opponents almost always are given stacked hands. In other words...the game is fixed....although I'm not sure why the creators want to create frustration from their users as it only results less users of their game....defeating the whole purpose.
There are times this is very frustrating as if the computer is set up to win. What one opponent doesnt have the other one does. That very rarely happens to the player. It seems i get a lot of 9's and 10's each hand. Still will play it but sometimes ill just order uo every hand.
Was back to liking the game. It was starting to allow wins and losses not just losses. Until a new ad that flashes Facebook Message and it is triggering for anyone who can't take flashing for a long time. Have to try and cover ad to play. Wish there was a way to purchase an ad free game.
Junk absolute junk. Computer has both Jack's 90 percent of the time. I never get two Jack's it's usually a jack and a nine and ten. When I get a great hand my partner will go on nothing and lose. Computer goes by himself and will win 4 points most times. Very one sided game. I will be winning 9 to 0 and the computer team will come back to win 11 to 9 this has happened quite a few times. Just unrealistic game of euchre.
Been playing this for as long as I can remember! It's my all time favorite and go to game to play. Simple and straight forward with auto play functionality. Computer plays strategically and is consistent and realistic.
good game but the system is against you. 95% of the time the system gets a lone hand, or bids against you. If you have a lone hand it bids the opposite suit. It always seems to know what you are holding. The more you play the worse the odds of you winning. The system will always bid before you get the chance. I play quite often and find the game slanted towards AI.
I've been playing this game for years and it is by far the best made Euchre game I've come across. There's no bells and whistles or fancy graphics, it's as bare bones as it gets. But the AI feels very realistic and responds appropriately 99% of the time. This game is extremely well made in that regard. So if you are a serious player that legitimately wants to get better through practice with no actual people to play with, the bots in the game are the closest you can get.
I like the clean, retro interface. Game play is fairly customizable, assuming that some of the settings actually affect the way cards are played. But as others have said, it's obvious that the bots are programmed to know which cards you're holding and to play to that advantage. Edit: The opposing bots just called 10 out of 15 times. Balanced card dealing algorithm, you say?
