This app is great fun. It's definitely worth investing in buying the possibility of moving on without getting all stars for each level. I really wished that hints were more useful: hints should show the theorems needed to solve the problems! Also, after solving a progblem I would like to see the explanation of why it worked. Often I solved the problems by intuition but I learned nothing!
I like it a lot! No hand holding. $1 to get all hints, which give some help but not enough to give away the solution(or wait an hour), definitely reccommend. $1 to move on to the next pack if you don't completely solve the previous one. Though I did have a glitch that the 3rd pack wouldn't open after I'd solved everything. Had to buy it instead. Highly recommend spending the time to solve all completely instead of paying though. Very satisfying when you finally solve them!
Fun game. Previous reviewers were frustrated at the lack of hints and the way the game progressed but I actually like how you need to earn all stars to unlock the next level. Forces you to sit in the question and think. Try a few different approaches. One improvement I would recommend would be the ability to choose colours for each construction and label points or vertices.
I bought the night mode option which is beautiful except the settings and info page along with the glossary and help sections don't change into night mode. As a developer myself I know it's quite easy to implement. So it would be nice if they made sure 100% of the app changes into night mode when you buy it. Secondly this app has HUGE potential to be a learning tool but it's sad that they don't have an explanation section for each puzzle. They have hints but these are honestly not very helpful.
I enjoy the thinking process of solving the first level tasks. An understanding of compass and straightedge construction from high school geometry would certainly be helpful. The additional challenges to complete with minimal steps was very rewarding, but used a lot of trial and error to get to the solution. It took about 30 app hours over six days earn all stars from the first two levels.
Quite possibly the best game/learning tool I've come across second only to Brilliant. After a day or so of playing this game my intuition for geometry has improved massively. Well done to the team behind this. Some feedback: - More detailed or even video tutorial solutions. - I'd love to see some of the actual math being used. - Slightly more informative hints. Other than that it's perfect.
it's exactly what it appears to be: geometric construction problems in a puzzle game format. it's simple without being trivial. the app is well designed (features and layout are satisfying, intuitive, and polished). it has a dark theme! i'm glad there's an option to send the devs a dollar without unlocking the game because i think they deserve it even though i like to unlock the levels one by one.
This is a wonderful blend of puzzles and mathematics! If you enjoy logical reasoning and geometry, I highly recommend this game. I will say it doesn't save your solutions, but you get a free hint that replenishes after an hour. So, if you are willing to wait, it gets easier to re-discover old solutions.
A great geometry challenge, where almost all of the puzzles are easy to complete with very little thought involved, but the challenge is to complete it using the minimum number of elementary shapes, which makes it very challenging to get 3 stars on all of them... No purchases in the app either, except for one that can be avoided by solving more puzzles.
Beautiful concept, and in general I like the UI. However, I would much rather pay $8 straight up like Dragonbox, and like Dragonbox, have the option to watch an animation of the solution when I get stuck, than dribble out a dollar here, a dollar there, and no real help or explanation. This game desperately needs an in-depth explanation of why each thing works, to encourage real learning. I get stuck and the hints don't help. They only link to complicated articles on Wikipedia.
I absolutely love the game. I do wish that there was a mathematical explanation to the completion of every level. As I get further the levels get harder; I know what information I need but not how to look it up. Maybe some formulas or something to help conceptualize the level. Could we get a free play blank sheet level that has no objection, just an area to experiment with the tools. That would be cool. Thank you!
Best game on the play store that I've seen. The puzzles seem very challenging so far, and I'm only on the 3rd section. However, they are fun to think about so I do not find it frustrating to get stuck on a puzzle. In each puzzle there are 3 stars to unlock, along with an additional 4th on some. The first star is just doing the construction, the second is to do it in the least number of steps, the third is to do in the most efficient way possible, and the 4th is to find all alternative solutions.
Wonderful brain teaser game. I had to buy the $0.99 unlock upgrade or I would have been forever frustrated and stuck. Given enough moves, i was able to solve any construction. But unless you can solve the construction in the required minimum number of moves, you are not allowed to advance to the next level.... unless you've bought the $0.99 unlock upgrade.
I once thought of translating Euclid's Element into a game, this app does exactly that! Only thing I dislike is the E, L, V score system. I get the idea of multiple paths to get to the same answer, but inventing one's own solution should be encouraged, not discouraged. Having solved a problem in one way without taking any of the expected paths should worth just as much stars, not any less. I suppose this scoring system was meant to encourage exploration, but it has an opposite effect to me.
By far the best mathematics app I've ever found. Really easy and intuitive controls, no ads (!!!), and no pay to win. It seems harsh to need every star to unlock the next set of levels but the challenge is fun and 89p is a very fair price to pay to unlock them all. You can also very easily use this app to draw neat diagrams to all sorts of geometry problems. My only improvement would be to please add some background music.
A very interesting game that has me hooked since the second I started it. It begins very easy and has a good learning curve, and some puzzles require even me to think twice. There are no ads in the game, which is very nice, since it doesn't disrupt the flow of thinking. The pricing for the in-app-purchases is very fair, too, with 99ct per option. The only downside I see so far is that there seems to be no store, I only saw the prices when I actually tapped on the "buy"-option
i love this game!! beautiful graphics, easy enough controls, some very challenging levels later on (and very satisfying once solved!). if i had any complaint, it would be that i would love to see some explanations on why the solutions work, especially really late in the game. sometimes you intuitively can "guess" what the solution is, but it would be really neat to know exactly why!
Quite a wonderful and challenging brain teaser. Entire pack is quite cheap, worth every penny and then some. Also, the fact that there are no advertisement interruptions is very welcome. Edit: Please make the drawing area background completely black in dark mode (or make it an option), instead of dark grey, as it would look great on OLED screens, as well as save some power.
Ok. The concept is nice and the puzzles are challenging. However, monetisation completely kills this game. Completed alpha and beta, but cannot go further. Why? Because I do not have a full star count. This does not mean I do not have 3 stars in all levels. I do. However for some of them you have a 4th one and good luck trying to figure out which levels require this 4th star. And then good luck finding the solution. Just nope
Great game 🙂 If you are into puzzles and have an interest in compass and straightedge geometry; this is the one. One thing I really like is that the games design makes trying out ideas quick and easy. In my opinion, only thing it lacks is an explanation of why constructions work. That is the teacher in me talking. It's a game and feels good to play.
Love this game, and the one time I had a major issue with it (sign in issue with Google), the developer responded within 2 days and sorted out everything. Very impressed! Maybe could use some more instructional resources, but I think that sort of defeats the purpose of the puzzle aspect of the game and turns it into lessons.
The game could offer a bit more help, especially when first starting. Also offer help throughout the game. I understand that part of the experience is to figure it out on your own, but sometimes getting lost on a problem with no help is very frusterating, and without the answer, you can't progress to the next problem...other than that, it is a great designed game and is unique in every single way and different from any other game I've ever encountered. Thank you to the developers and great job!
Great pastime. This app gives me exactly what I enjoyed so much in solving geometry problems in middle school. A few suggestions, though: often I don't quite understand 'why' my solution is the correct one. If you had a list of theorems, and after solving the level it was possible to view the theorems that apply in this problem, satisfaction would be much greater. Could also pass the application as an educational tool then. Another suggestion - please add some ambient music, else it feels dull.
An excellent and enjoyable game for the first two sets of puzzles, but you then need to earn all the "V stars" to progress further without paying. The game does not tell you which puzzles are eligible to earn V stars, so there is no good way to advance without spending hours trying multiple different ways to solve each puzzle. This is a critical failure that makes the game unplayable beyond the first two "levels." If the V star function were removed, this would get five stars from me.
The. Most. Incredible. Game. Ever! And I mean it: free to play, no in-app ads, progressingly difficult without being frustrating, beautiful, every level has its surprise! I've always been waiting for such an interesting math app. I mean... I could litteraly pay 20$ for such a perfect game. Thanks a lot to the developers for their amazing work! I'll be waiting for your next creations with great interest!
