Eurail/Interrail Rail Planner

Utterly useless! The website claims that this app allows you to make reservations. This is a lie. They have to be booked through their website. Reservations are displayed as available for 10€-12€, but end up being unavailable altogether even well in advance once you bought and registered your Interrail ticket. It was the only reason, why I bought a mobile pass and downloaded the app. Essentially, you can use your ticket for regional trains, which are cheaper to book directly. Total scam!

It's very uncomfortable to use. So many buttons are in non- intuitive place. Also constantly halts. Too bad, the search engine isn't too bad, just needs a lot of going back and forth bc of weird placement of screens, buttons etc. It gets the job done in the end.. But takes a lot of time, especially when you have to make reservations. Maybe take an example from the Italian Trenitalia app :)

In the Planner tab, the preferred options (such as showing only trains from the Interrail network or the preferred transfer time) are not preserved between searches. Thar means you have to remember to reenter them every time again. Also, there is a bug on the My Trip tab in the journey list, where the wrong starting and destination stations are shown in the overview, when a journey contains transfers. Else a good and easy to use app (although the startup time is a bit on the slower side).

Very useful tool to plan an upcoming Interrail tour, particularly to compare different routing options. Be aware though that not all possible train times are included within the App. Even though, the flexibility it provides to quickly compare different options is a huge benefit over, say, consulting each nations train companies timetables separately. Overall highly recommend.

The idea is great but it still needs improvement, maybe not so much the app itself but rather the compatibility with the different European rail systems. For example, I seemingly cannot book a mandatory reservation within France as the train is operated by RENFE and continues to Spain. So now I probably have to expect it to be sold out once I get there. That's unfortunate. It is also unfortunate that the Eurail costumer service does not seem to answer any questions.

Awful. So difficult to plan journeys if you don't know the routes in advance. Therefore makes you have to try to guess which stations you can travel from and to. I rarely leave reviews for anything but my experience was sooooo bad, I felt compelled. Trainline ended up being so much more efficient and effective.

This app is the perfect definition of how to complicate unnecessarily a simple idea. You pay for a ticket that's supposed to be valid for ajy train, but then you are forced to take trains that "have to be reserved for a fee" and you end up doubling the price of the original ticket. Moreover, these reservation don't work and have to be done in person or thought third party apps and website. Proper mess. If only I knew this before...

The site needs huge improvement, not user friendly, cannot speak to anyone, beware of having to pay extra for seats, cost us an additional €95 even if you've paid a huge chunk €1314 for 15 trips to use within 2 months. One would expect not to pay extra for seat. Shocking really. Site so confusing, selected a trip, that was incorrect & hadn't even travelled yet, tried to edit it..can't. Eurorail then on the app states we've used 1 of 15 trips, then had to email. Not impressed.

It's better than it was but still requires improvement. Train availabilities don't match the website. If they are accessing the same database then they should display same timetables. However, website has more trains eg. Venice to Bologna only shows trains which require reservations on the app but website shows fast trains that don't require reservation, therefore don't cost extra. Also app is misleading because it implies that you can make reservations from within the app. NOT True.

It is not user friendly. You are required to purhcase seat reservations for most travel despite already paying for a pass. The seat reservations must be done through a third party website, not on the app itself. Or last minute at the train station, where you have to wait in long lines and your train is likely sold out. The train schedule on the app itself is inaccurate and displays unavailable trains. My friend was charged twice for a ticket because they wouldn't accept her pass once boarded.

The App doesn't support border stations, you have to manually add them which is cumbersome. Also some trips get "corrupted", means they show the wrong time and for departure and destination the same place. Under the pass tap it's correct at least. The Idea is good, the execution kinda bad.

Having taken advantage of the 50% offer for a month long global pass, this app worked really well. Easy to plan journeys and the setting up of the pass on the app before yoir first journey was straightforward. Most of my travels were in Sweden and on train staff were fine with the pass. Understandably their ticket scanners used to check their own tickets didn't always recognise InterRail but that wasn't a problem.

It sometimes display incorrect routes / times of the train. You have to check your route with other websites. It is also strange that their reservation website works better. Anyway I found the app pretty handy and I like that they display the map and statistics of your journey.

Inbound/Outbound doesn't work in Germany, almost got a huge fine for that. In the app it's shown as inbound/outbound day, but not on the ticketing machine of the conductor. Please fix that! It can't be that I'm paying hundreds of euros for a ticket that doesn't work properly and isn't accepted by the biggest railway in Europe.

Most international trains require seat reservation. Buying such reservations is ridiculously complicated. This app: doesn't do it, tells you to go to providers. It even lies about the price and tells you it's 0€ sometimes. Providers: with most of them, you cannot specify you already have interrail ticket, just need reservation. You can also go to a train station to buy such a ticket, but this is also prone to fail, for example in Naples, you cannot buy a reservation for a Venice - Munich train.

Often has service outages, many basic functions cannot be done through app (like seat reservations), and the website it sends you too is equally buggy. Overall the pass will cost you several hundred euros upfront and then waste several hundred more euros of your time during your trip.

Could be better, eg often it shows N/A next to booking/reservations for a particular train, whereas it should show N/K (not known)+🔗 since if you do use that particular train with a longer/shorter journey it may show a price & details. [English n/a means not applicable or not available.]

Have used paper pass many times before. Tried mobile pass this trip. Horrible. If you run out of battery, you become an illegal passenger, there is no paper fallback. Confusing interface. Next time I go back to paper eurail (can be bought in any European station) and use DB navigator app (better search results for routes)

Really difficult to get bookings for more than two people. Nonsense way to get blocked passes unblocked. App link to reservation system was rubbish. Unreliable. We've been trying on & off for two weeks now.....

App was difficult to install and impossible to get ticket to show after selecting date and destination through 'my trip' planner. I have used a paper Eurail pass many times with great success but the app was unnecessarily complicated.

The planner works, but seat reservation doesn't. You cannot book seats with this app, and the website either lags and freezes, or simply doesn't find / allow you to book anything. After 6 hours of trying to book any single one of my planned countless trips, no progression. 0/5

Does not have all available trains loaded into the timetable. Out of date and wrong information about which operators the IR ticket is valid on and which trains need reservations. Just updated and still wrong operator validity shown, missing trains and wrong reservation info. Waste of time. When you change search criteria there is no search button in the screen.

Once you figure out how to work the app and how to book your reservations it becomes very seemless. You can change your ticket and train schedule in seconds.

I wish app allows to purchase reservation seats easier and with electronic delivery of tickets. It only does it for some rail partners but not others like Máv Start. But I'm going for all partners soon without waiting at the train station ticket counter. Otherwise, it is a good planning tool.

Exceptionally functional. Makes travelling by train even more pleasurable. Highly recommended. New version doesn't have all stations, much less functionality than previous version.

Works for accessing your pass and storing your route plans, but is missing one of the most important features - accurate train schedules!! If you just pick a route in the app and show up day of your train ride, prepare for a surprise and some quick thinking to figure out what actual route to take before you're left stranded. What I had to do is check the website for route plans and try to load them into the app. Tedious!!

When planning a trip often routes are shown as nonexistent when, having checked the relevant railway network's website, they do exist. For example, the app tells me that the only route from Venice to Florence is a 2 day journey via Verona and Bologna, instead of showing any of the direct train links. For the ones it does show, it's useful to have them on an overall plan and to see reservation costs and different regulations etc.

App will not let you reserve a seat for trains that require. When I clicked "how and when to book" it said I had to wait until 3 hours before the departure time. NOT TRUE. I could have booked online 120 days in advance, and when I tried to book 3 hours before my train it said it was too late to do online?!? Makes absolutely no sense.
