I have had similar experiences to everyone else, to the point where u didn't bother trying to use the app last summer, however reinstalled today and had a seemless experience getting the device connected, no more time out! Tested all the functions available and everything works as you would expect, firmware update was easy enough although I did have to disconnect and reconnect after this. Looks like everything is back on track for the device and app!
The app crashes every time I have even tried downloading it on 3 different phones. I have spoken to customer support several times and they never have any idea what to tell me. I follow their directions precisely and have troubleshooted every variable. I would like a replacement unit or my money back at this point.
Hardwarw is great but the app is trash. Every version has been broken. After I replaced the cartridge on my device, everything about the app fell apart. The app couldnt communicate with my device anymore so I removed and havent been able to pair the device for weeks. Working with support and they dont even know what the problem is. The app crashes when simply trying to pair a device. If you can't manage to get hardware to pair to an app, is it really "smart" hardware? Unacceptable software
its been 2 years since i originally bought my evapolar, the exact same SSID connection issue is still present to this day, even though the UI has improved. It just doesnt recognise my wifi password whatsoever, contacted support multiple times but they were never able to find a solution. Only way around this is to go into your router and remove password from your 2.4ghz network band during the intial setup. Obviously this puts extremely risk to your security. This is a great example of excellent hardware plagued by poor software.
Waited 7 weeks to get this device. Nicely marketed and packaged but app doesn't work. it does not seem to transmit a wifi signal on Android or ios. Stopped working entirely with error message. Contacted customer service at evapolar and Touch of Modern where i purchased it. No idea that the app was not designed to work with this device, particularly the Android version. Ios at least asks for models 1 and 2 or model 3. Wasted an hour and a half for a 3 minute expected setup.
Device screen unresponsive, select button doesn't work 90% of the time, made of terribly cheap material. This product and app is absolute garbage. Took 45 minutes of fiddling to get the device to connect to wifi and I work in IT. It should be using Bluetooth to connect to your phone but instead you are giving your network details to the Chinese government. The instruction manual is convoluted and riddled with grammatical errors. Not nearly a $50 product let alone $300+ Will be returning it ASAP
Device won't pair with phone despite trying all suggestions on the website. All the instructions to pair, or change any settings in the manual that came with the device as well as on the website are for a different model and different touch screen layout and do nothing for me. App freezes 70% of the time. This doesn't even deserve one star.
The app not only fails to connect every time but also disconnects and disables the original WiFi connection on my phone. Barely makes any difference temperature wise even in ideal conditions and honestly not worth the cost.
The setup worked fine but after that the app rarely works. Most of the time I cannot turn on or manage the evasmart with the app. Edit: Haven't used it during the winter. Now the issue is gone and i am very happy with my Evapolar :)
All of a sudden, I am unable to use this app on a 5GHz WiFi network. It worked yesterday. The app updated today, and now it doesn't work. I get that the fan doesn't support 5GHz WiFi networks, but my phone does, and they're literally the same network.
The new EvaSmart model unit doesn't seem to work with the app. It won't pair so you can't access any of those features. I reached out to customer service and they admitted that the app needs updated to work with the cooler.
The evapolar device works, but the app doesn't. So features are unavailable despite purchasing them. That's unfortunate. Tried through home wifi and a separate mobile hotspot like support recommended, but both methods continued to fail to synch.
Unable to establish a connection with the device. Kept getting an error and requires multiple attempts to pair with the device. Doesn't help when Evapolar keeps shutting itself down after a few seconds of turning it on.
Other bug in software, when you change fan speed with slider, it shuts down. Seems every time when change something with a slider it shuts down. Maybe the app send too many instructions and it cannot handle them.
Can't connect to the app have tried to troubleshoot by switching to 2.4ghz as suggested. This App is actually horrible. Luckily the unit actually works kind of well it just sucks I have to manually change the settings.
App does not work at all, if ever. Wifi is on, data is on and bluetooth is on but it still does not work. After initial connection, nothing works afterwards.
It device cools great but should have purchased the much cheaper version without the smart app capabilities as it won't even connect thus can't use it. It's okay though, lesson learned.
REPORT TO GOOGLE ! APP lies about supprting smart anything. Never connects to router or mesh. Return the product while you still can! Company has not solved issue did spend almost 2 months via email. I had even changed over from Google wifi back to my old modem. Unit will not reset, there is never a time where the power and both arrows keys are active.The product does, "cooll the air". Saying it's "smart" would be like saying Donald Trump never lies. Call BBB report now
Connecting to a WiFi doesn't work on Android, I had to connect with an iOS device. The app is great otherwise. Worth five stars if the setup worked.
I just bought a new evaSmart product, I can't connect to the app, it won't log in, this is by far the worst product I have ever bought. It's so incredibly hot, it's not even cooling down and and even getting hotter in the room. I've spent 375$ on this. I want a refund.
Can't login. Had to create new account to login. Afterwards the evaSmart can't be detect so there's just no way to connect. Not worth the hassle and not smart at all..
yesterday I would have given a completely different rating but all of the sudden it does not like my 5ghz network. yesterday it did. today it does not. I was going to buy one more device but... not if this app can't control the devices.
Works great - App took a bit of ham fisting to get setup but eventually got working. Super cool to be able to tell google to turn on the device while halfway driving home. Timer mode is a godsend as i like to set 3hrs to help me fall asleep. Question: What do the x3 icons to the right of the top status row mean? I have a RH%, a wavy box% and 3 line box%. RH hovers between 50-70% and the other 2 always 0%. There isnt any documentation on the website that explains what they represent.
Terrible application. it's trying to connect with my wifi on port 80 insecurely and failing. no way to change the port. i have Google mesh.
having all sort of problems with app and have to update software on device to get rid of error message, first did not log in using fb, now cant pair up, very sad, i liked the first device better, plug in and all set. first time complaining...
The app has greatly improved since evaSmart launch and more it works flawlessly. Did an update for my device (firmware) and everything went fine (OnePlus 5 with Android Pie OSS 9.0.8). Thank you and may the Lord bless you all!
I liked it. but I'm wondering, since you can control the led brightness and it's rgb a breathing mode would be a great feature.
Does not work with 5ghz wifi speed. Only 2,4ghz. If you use Google Nest wifi with 5ghz on your mobile device, you cannot use the app and setup the Eva smart cooler. Had to return the cooler.
Horrid application.... the pairing process is 100% unusable and a joke. Tech support said wait for update, well, today it updated and it is still garbage. Multiple devices, the software is just junk.
This app is pathetic. I set it up the 1st time last year, it worked, now it won't recognize the device. Tried to add again, during the pairing, it would not connect to any wifi, including my phone hotspot. No matter what i do. The premium pricing is entirely due to the bells & whistle of wifi and app functionality, as the cooling part is really simple, as u see many similar products on the market today for far less w/o it. Shame on us for falling for it. Shame on you for a crappy app.
