Constantly crashes. When it does load it takes for ever. It rarely works to start a charging session. Have to constantly force stop and clear cache to get it to work. Doesn't notify you of issues with the charge or if it stops for no reason. It sucks!

I'll have to say I'm pretty disappointed. The charging experience should be indictive of an new era in transpo ans yet somehow this app finds a way to negate that. Payment system is busted and I have to go to the website on my account. It took me 22 mins to get a charge session. App is not intuitive. I would only use this app if I was in dire need of a session.

While every other app is moving forward with new innovation, getting better and more user friendly, EVgo is going backwards. The app never works when needed. I get logged out every time, the password doesn't work, and on rare occasions when it logs me in, I cannot see the status of my current charge. It's gotten to a point where I really avoid EVgo chargers unless I'm in desperate need.

It's terrible. The app constantly states I entered wrong credentials though I can login to the website with the same credentials. I can't count how many times I've changed credentials only to get prompted that they are wrong. Also the app is slow to load and doesn't tally energy usage unless click on the list of dates I did use it which all show $0 used. The first app they had worked great. I wish they'd just give my credit balance I have. There are no stations within 16m from where I live.

So damn frustrating. It doesn't explain this charger name entry and I spend 15 minutes trying to work out what it means only to find the name is on a cheap adhesive label in an obscure location that looks like someone was playing with a label printer. App does not explain where or have a QR code that can be scanned to identify and placed in an obvious place on one charger it was above the screen the other had it 1 inch above the ground on the side away from the screen. K.I.S.S. is key.

I get logged out at least once a day. Sometimes the app shows a station is occupied when I see it is open ( and vice versa). The app takes minutes to load. I have only been able to initiate a charge from the app once in the past month. I default to using the RFID now. The app also has functionless features. Adding a member adds no benefit. We are able to add multiple cards, but can't assign them within the family.

Absolute worst experience I've ever had with a vendor or an application. Keeps having me change my password. Won't accept the new password. The customer support person was extremely nice and helpful. Sending me password resets that it would fail to take. Also, the charging unit won't take credit card so it's a complete and under waste of time. Spent 40 minutes standing in front of this unit and then it finally gave us out of order message. Get your damn act together

EVGo is very frustrating to use, when it works, and rarely works. Currently being forced to sign up for the app, which is very slow and buggy. Once upon a time I could use a credit card at the machine and charge away! NO MORE. Currently stuck forever on "add a payment method" bubble, looking at the charger I want. A Walmart charger, go figure.... anyways, looking forward to running out of battery on the way home. Thanks EVGo for your terrible business plan. EVconnect works well, but is far away.

The app is horrible. It keeps logging you out. It takes forever to log in again. It doesn't know when your car is connected. It doesn't keep accurate track of your charge. If it wasn't for the physical card they send you that is linked to your account, it would be nearly impossible to use the app to pay on the chargers. You would have to pay the full rates, with your debit or credit card. When I do use the card to pay, I can't keep track of how much charging it has, the app keeps saying error.

Incredibly frustrating. I will avoid EVgo chargers if possible because the app can't seem to retrieve any data from their backend. When charging, I can't see the status of my current charge and received multiple notifications saying it had finished charging when it hadn't. I've also verified my email about 5 different times and the app refuses to acknowledge that I've done so. Terrible experience, avoid if you can.

One of the worst customer experiences to date. The App is extremely slow and it took about 20 minutes to fully load the app at LTE connectivity speed and get going on one of the chargers. The app consistently logs me out and generate error messages which contributed to a longer time to get charging. There is no indication at the end for how much the charging cost. Will never utilize this company again.

If I didn't have free charging that came with my car, I doubt I'd use the service. Car charges fine, but the app is 90% garbage. I can see the history of my charges, and locations. That's it. Push notifications don't work. Says car is done when it isn't, doesn't alert at 80%, nothing. I use the card to pay because if there's a way to start a charge from the app, I've never seen it. Unless there's an update to the app, I wouldn't consider paying for EVGo subscriptions as I have other options in my area.

Nice looking, major performance issues. Since the major overhaul, the visuals of the app are much improved, and it's nice to see the data about your charge. However, the app will keep sending me notifications that my car has finished charging. When I click it, the app will take 3+ minutes to load, then slow that my car is still at 45% and charging at full speed. Load times are abysmal, and often times the app will ask you to plug the car in, even though it's plugged in and charging has begun.

If there was a 0 star option I'd pick that. From just one use my experience was not a good one, setting up an account has too many steps compared to other apps the price is also much higher. Once you start a session there is no way to stop it on you phone or the charger you will get charged for the whole session even if you started it by accident and didn't actually charge your car. Overall a really bad experience.

Constantly waiting, it's like the servers just aren't responsive or can't handle the demand. And the app constantly logs me out. It's a very frustrating experience but it does at least work to start a charge. It just takes a few minutes. More of a charging issue here, but the negotiation between my Mach E is not working well either. I've never seen higher than 70kwh despite them being 200kw chargers. I've tried numerous times and numerous chargers. It's always 50-70. But the car can do 150.

Holy hell guy and gals! The new app is a hot mess. I work in tech and have shipped some bad builds but this is terrible. Any eta on when you will have bugs sorted out? Love the network and platform...Here are just a few... It constantly tells me that charging is complete when it's not. I get a charging ended or error message every once in a while. Randomly logs you out of the app. Frequently gives me a error that it "failed to pull required information" and I retry to no effect.

App is nearly impossible to use/setup. Initial setup appeared to work fine, however when I tried to log in to the account the app started that the password was not correct. Attempted to reset the password but I never received an email with the reset link or a temporary password. Called customer service and they provided me with a temporary password, which does not work. So far this application is a complete waste of time. Also, the access code screen disappears before the code can be entered.

The app and the service was already pretty bad before the most recent update. Previously, the app ran fine, it was just a crapshoot whether the charger would actually start charging my vehicle within 3 attempts. After the update, the app is a buggy mess, sometimes failing to load at all when attempting to start a charge. EVgo as a service has been inconsistent and unreliable and if not for the fact that it's the closest fast charge available, I would avoid them entirely.

1.7 stars, one would think that EVgo see this an indication that the app is not working very well with 90% of customers. The new update, takes longer to launch than a 98 MS Windows, logs me out constantly for no reason, keeps telling me that my charging session has ended even when I just plugged in. That's on top of many malfunctioning charging stations.

App is horrible. Can't understand why the app keeps logging me off. Not to mention it's super long just to load the app to pull up the map to find the nearest station. I use Google map to find the nearest station and read the reviews for pictures where it is located. It's only good for payments, hence the 2 stars.

This app has never been great, but as of the last update it's just terrible. Shows chargers in use when there's nothing there. The moment I open it there's a notification saying that I'm charging the car, if I tap on it throws an error but the notification still stays there. Every single time I charge I have to go through this plug and unplug dance because even though the charger says it's connected and charging the app shows a 120 second timeout for plugging the cable.

The app got updates recently (you can tell cause everything is yellow now) and it's just horrible now. It logs me out everytime I close the app and it takes a long time to load everything. Sometimes it doesn't load at all! I can't see my transactions for example. It keeps showing me the loading icon and never moves past that. Wished I hadn't updated the app...

Absolutely horrible experience, I have to log in again nearly every time I want to interact with the app and it is just completely out of sync with the charging stations. It isn't aware when charging has started and I get notifications that charging has ended when it has not.

The old app had no problems whatsoever but this new one is absolutely abysmal. Completely horrible. All it had is all it needed, the ability to start a charge from my phone and locate charging stations. But this new update has problems that do NOT make up for the luxurious new features such as: 1) Randomly logging me out then invalidating my password so I have to call to use the app again. Which is even worse since I can't re-use passwords. 2) It takes way too long to open, for what reason? 3)

Needs major work. I created an account on the website, but cannot log in to it through the app. Said username or password is incorrect. Tried changing password, but no email is ever sent to me to reset. The data link between the app and the browser is bad, please fix. Thank you.

Pls bring back the old app. THE NEW APP is a DISGRACE to EVGO. Only positive about the new app is the UI design. Everything else does not work. It logs me out. No charging status. I have to check the station screen for status. No billing statements for 2020 amd 2021 and 2022. The charging receipt is not showing the details of the transaction like time, duration, location. No option to view or add favorite stations...and the LIST GOES ON.....

Irreparably broken app. It constantly fails to communicate w/ the servers or the charge station. You cannot view your current charging session. Most infuriating is the inability to pull up past charging session summaries. This includes any session you just finished. If you happen to clear the notification that tells you how much your session just cost you, then you are S.O.L until the session is invoiced. So, basically completely useless beyond showing you the charger location.

Horrible experience onboarding and using. It kept giving errors and asking me to call an 800 number. It seems one of the sign up attempts worked and I was able to use the app but then the payment entry was wonky and had to enter the same card in about 3 times before I could select. Also, app did not tell me that the Tesla charger was not working at the station I went to. Horrible user experience.

The app is horribly broken. About the only thing it does right is show you where the chargers are. I started charging while we were shopping at the mall, and even though I had a strong 5G signal, it could never give me the status. While it was charging, it kept saying that there was a problem. Additionally, I found out that the card I had associated with the account had expired, and trying to add a new valid card kept ending and failure as well.

The app is great at showing you where chargers are located, but horrible when actually charging your car. The app took a long time to load, logged me out, and my credit card info had to be re-entered twice. My car was never recognized. I was never able to charge. I have tried 3 different chargers at 2 different charging stations. There is a $5.00 pending charge on my card, but according to my car and this app, charging failed. Does the app ever work properly?
