I love this app. It's not over complicated - it just allows you to change the look of icons, titles, rows and columns etc. I would give 5 stars if there were 3 small improvements. 1. You allow icon resizing but not resizing the description, so they are often too long to see. 2. You only allow the home screen to be on the left. I prefer it in the middle. 3. There is no way to change the background of folders, so they look odd, especially when you can change literally everything else!
A good launcher, especially when using an emulator like Nox. It would be even better if the developers supported tablet-like behavior, where the dock is at the bottom (or an option) when in landscape mode. As it stands, emulating a rotation into landscape simply rotates the screen, as if someone were looking at it sideways. If this is the kind of behavior to expect for tablets, I think I'll pass and look for something better.
Good minimal launcher. Love the style and feel, but could use some work. When Auto rotating to portrait or landscape, it doesn't update the icons properly and then the search and news feed bleeds over into the home screen. Everything goes back to normal after you tap the screen again. Not a fan of their search, rather have the Google search. Having to load my browser to do a simple search is inconvenient. This can be worked around by using the Google search bar widget. Aside from these things, I enjoy the launcher.
A bit slow... I love this launcher, it's my favorite one as of right now, I especially like how the background image gets zoomed in whenever you open a folder, it's simple but looks really nice. My only problem with it so far is that it's a bit slow, the home screen takes a second or two to load whenever I exit an app after being on it for a while, and it sometimes takes a bit to load after unlocking my phone. Will talk to support to see if I can do anything about it.
This launcher is pretty great, but I've already started noticing a few problems with widgets. Specifically, adding widgets to the home screen. Too often I am told that there isn't enough space on a =completely empty= home screen. For a calendar app and a weather app, both well known and developed. I have not had this issue with any other launcher. Please fix.
Unsure how to rate. I LOVE the way Evie looks, it's perfect, exactly what I wanted. But I've had it around 2 weeks and it keeps crashing, it's my home launcher and when I click to go home it takes around 5 seconds to respond. . . A long time when you're in a rush! Whereas every other launcher I've used is immediate. If this could be fixed, the app would be perfect.
Would give it five stars, if it wouldn't be somewhat silly, when it comes to adjusting homescreen columns and rows. You can easily loose a good portion of work, when you finally put the right icons in the right places and folders, and then accidentally reduced the rows or columns by one or two. All icons that are over the margin will just disappear and never return. There's no way to cancel your adjustments, and that's really stupid. Backing up to Google helps, but restoring is sometimes buggy.
I love it! A bit strange to use at first (as all new launchers are), but it's super simplistic, and easy to use once you understand it; and, best of all, refreshing! Very secure as well. Able to lock the screen, disable the biometrics on lock with only a type of pitch or gesture on the home screen, it's extremely great. An awesome mix of utilitarian and simplistic design.
Great launcher ovarall, tho there are 2 things I'd change. First: whenever I open an app from the app drawer, and then press home it goes back to the app drawer instead of the home page. And second: it would be cool to have a search bar for apps in the app drawer, for example just put it there instead of the 'all apps' text. Hope you could implement those changes. Keep up the good work!
I highly suggest you to set this as your main launcher. It's truly amazing. No ads, a very clean experience. I'll be really grateful if y'all add more customization tools and that's the only thing I noticed as a little issue. Also whenever I comeback to the homescreen after launching an app it takes time to load the homescreen. Other than that, it's perfect.
The customizations are good. But I'm having problems with the back-up and restore feature. I cant seem to restore my previous back-ups after turn off my maximum power saving mode. I'm using a Samsung S8. Also the notification badges for Facebook and Messenger won't seem to come off. It's still there after I've seen all the notifications. I hope you look into these problems/bugs. This is a really good app but these problems are eating at me.
It's smooth, it's fast it accepts icon packs well, it uses minimal resources, It's great. I just hope that in the future they can add a way to change the font and font color, and add the ability to use a gesture to perform an action within an app for example clearing the cache. Maybe more gestures. It's the most complete and functional free launcher I've found with no ads or anything. Great Developer
Absolutely stunning by how simple and intuitive all the menus and settings are. Add to that the plethora of customization options for free, and it all boils down to a perfect product. I was using Nova Launcher, but I switched because my phone would constantly suffer from performance issues. Not anymore! Keep up with the outstanding job.
it's a great launcher. it's not as customizable as Nova, which I've been using for the past two years, but it definitely gets the job done. the animations are smooth, the search bar gives info from the web as well as searches the phone for apps. icon sizes are adjustable, the only real issue i have is that the folders aren't - they have a fixed size, only the icons within the folder can be adjusted. also, widgets tend to reset. an awesome app overall, can't wait to see how it develops.
After about 3 years or so, I tried a LOT of launchers because I like to see what's new and works. I've only ever come back to two, and Evie is one of them. It's functional, smooth and great aesthetically. Personalization's not overwhelming nor confusing, but to-the-point and adaptable to any other icon pack or feature you use. Really good app! Congratulations to the team behind it, I'll look forward to future releases.
I just wish the search bar and search result ls UI would acknowledge that the fingers are located at the bottom of the device, hence it would be more ergonomic and usable if the results would be aligned to the bottom and reverse sorted (best match at the bottom = least finger travel) I know it's unconventional, but it's logical. The way it is now is just a copy of the desktop UI.
Simplistic yet great looking and functional launcher. It is fast and provides enough options to adjust things to your taste. One feature that surely should be added in the backlog is a text filtering field in the “choose an icon” screen. I have tried to change my icons with an H2O icon pack (over 4000 icons in the pack) and it is merely impossible to scroll through the list and find anything. So please please, add a filter functionality. 🙏
I love the look that this launcher brings to my note 9. However, I find it hard to stay consistent in using this launcher because of its slow animations. May I request for an option to reduce animations especially when bringing up the app drawer because it seems slow and unnatural. In short, I request for snappier animations. It would really elevate the experience. For now, I'm only giving it 4 stars.
I came from a Windows phone, yes I held out till the very end, and moving to Android was a terrible experience. Although nothing will replace the metro home page of the WP, Evie launcher was the only one I found (and I tried many) that could offer simplicity as well as being highly customisable. It's clean, responsive and everything works as it's meant to do
I like the look, the gestures, and the simple interface. But it doesn't seem to run smoothly on Android 10, so I've gone back to the OnePlus launcher just because it is so much faster and smoother. There is commonly a delay between closing an app and the home screen apps/widgets loading that is not there on my stock launcher. Gesture navigation is also much more fluid on the native app. If/when this launcher is optimized for Android 10 I'll go back to it!
Beautiful, Clean, Smooth Transitions, this launcher is my favorite out of all. After looking at so many launchers and trying several, this one takes my heart. No lag at all. Works with my S9+ too so that makes it so much better. It's also very customizable. Overall outstanding launcher. The one thing I wish I could change is when you swipe right and get the weather, I'd like to change it to Celsius. When I click on it I can change it on the website but it doesn't change it the launcher. One thing I do wish to have is auto rotate. Overall 9/10
I've tried many launchers, Different looks, Different controls and more things but I always go back to Evie because it's simple, easy to use, looks nice and is overall really good. Does not use a lot of ram like others. The swipe down to search apps/Google is really nice and makes it really easy to use. Features like blur background in app drawer cost in lots of launchers but is free in this one. No ads what so ever. All free. You don't need to pay extra for features. I highly recommend it^-^
I don't usually write purely positive reviews, but this time will be an exception. I have been using Nova Launcher for as long as it has existed... But from the moment I downloaded Evie, it took me five seconds to never look back. It does basically the exact same things, bur much better and with a very elegant UI. Everything is always one or two taps away - and that's before even considering customization.
