This is the official app for Evo Car Share in Vancouver. It’s so handy it eliminates the need to carry an Evo card in your wallet.

Great in theory... Buggy in practice. I have mixed feelings about their customer service. It is as if they are unaware of technical issues prevalent in their app and system (average geolocation accuracy, locking/unlocking car bugs, map display delays). When using Evo's car sharing service, it is best to leave ten minutes earlier to account for possible errors or delays. When all is working, it is a decent method of transportation.

It's has been a decent app, but recently it shows cars when there aren't any. Spent 10 minutes circling the block and wasn't able to see the car that was supposed to be on the street in front of me. Also, please add a feature like a timer to see how long we've had the car for. I can see that after the fact. And maybe mark the entrances to the parking lots better. The entrance to the lot is not always on the same street where the building's entrance is

The app bugged when doing a stopover and instead ended the trip, this cost me about an extra $16. Emailed Evo to try and address this but was simply ignored. Theoretically nice system though.

I do not understand the negative reviews of this app. Aside from a few problems over the years it delivers a reliable experience. I think the progression of this app has been great with overall improvements that appear to be guided by a clearly defined roadmap. The phone support is amazing and instantaneous which largely negates the failings of the app experience. Which aren't really failings. Just manageable bugs which I've seen addressed in a very timely manner. Ignore the stars. Its great.

This is the only review I've written, but I wanted to take the time to say how terrible this app is. I've literally never had a good experience in the app - cars show only the first half of the license plate (same as the unlock and cancel buttons, they just say "un" and "can"), booking a car doesn't work most of the time, and when it does, starting my ride is hit or miss. A serious overhaul of the app needs to be done, and until it is, I'll be using car2go full-time.

I actually trust what I'm clicking and seeing on my screen. This new update is actually great. I think I'm seeing cars pop up and being booked in real time. Honestly before this update, it was so trash and I had to force quit it all the time just to get it to do what I want but now I didnt have to do that once and my 2 trips so far booked with no issues. I also notice the Evos spawn on the map much faster then before. Overall great. Cant wait for more updates.

This App has a horrible interface. You can't update pictures of licence or anything else in the App, there is no way to tell if your documents have been approved until you try to book a car, there is no account number on your file to help resolve issue effecently, and the style is clunky and not intuitive to navigate or log in/out of. I wouldnt be so bad if I didn't know how simple many of these things are to implement in the code. Simple edit buttons and information tags don't take long...

Simply awful. Takes forever to load, takes even longer to identify nearby vehicles. If it manages to get past those issues, I find the app struggles incredibly with actually unlocking the vehicle you have selected. The process of loading the app, finding a car, selecting it, and unlocking it (not to mention locking it again to end your trip) is like grinding teeth the whole way. Dreadful experience. The app would be less of an issue if the membership card was more effective at unlocking vehicles in a prompt manner, but it is also slow as molasses. Even though the operate on different business models, at least the Modo dongle unlocks a vehicle immediately. Evo has a good product, but the implementation is severely lacking.

Buggy and unreliable. Unacceptable for 2018. Company should be embarrassed and ashamed of this. I've been warned twice that trips I've ended have not actually ended, even after I've selected "end trip" on my device and manually turned the car off. So apparently the trip keeps running even after you've ended the trip on your phone and left. The app does NOT notify you that the trip is still running, and there are no audio or visual cues from the car to tell you the trip is still running. I've been held responsible for this and have been warned I will be charged for the time running if this happens again. How are you supposed to know the trip is still running even AFTER you've ended the trip on your phone and turned the car off if the app doesn't tell you. What a joke.

After using it for more than a year on a weekly basis I can confirm that everyday the app works worst with more bugs. Some months ago, cars weren't anywhere near where they were supposed to be, two weeks ago car booked suddenly became unbooked. Now, setting a radar, crashes the app and you cant access it if you don't reinstall. Seriously! Use that extra dollar you started charging on every booking to do a brand new app. You can do better.

this app is glitching all day long. glitch is all it does. i have to open and close it at least twice for the cars to even display. then after reserving it, it takes up to 15 minutes for the app to communicate with the car so i can unlock it. and worst of all is that the app will display cars that are not even there! after walking up to 30 minutes to get a car, there isn't even one there!!! maddening! I'm running this app on a google pixel 2. worked just fine until your latest update. WORST.

I use Evo way too often, but the app is terrible. It crashes all of the time, tells you it can't end your trip (although it has ended) and the radars have never alerted me when a car is within radius. I have to close the app and reopen to see if I have successfully booked the car or not. Have used this app on both iPhone and Google pixel and both equally as awful. The customer service and actual concept is great though!

UPDATE: Better now with the recent updates. Though i would like to see it be able unlock doors quicker through the app. Sometimes im standing next to the car and the unlock button is just spinning. Also wish there was a way to flash the lights or honk the horn when trying to locate the car you've booked. Sometimes when there are multiple cars in the lot and you've reserved one from the app. You can't tell easily which is your car unless you look through each car in the app and match the plate

I really like Evo but the app needs some work. Load time is way too long more often than not. I also usually get a 60 second countdown that I have to wait on the screen, while the app tries to connect, usually ending with me losing the car I was trying to reserve. This is a recent issue which keeps happening in the last month or so

you guys need to work out the bugs in the app, it is terrible. when I have a choice or in a rush I never book evo, always go with car2go. evo app is so not reliable. sometimes I can't unlock car, the circle just kept spinning, I have to restart my phone to make it unlock. or I can't end trip, the button is just grey. please fix all the bugs, great service and customer service but terrible app.

Good service and idea but the app is horrendous. It shows cars that dont exist, booked cars disappear off the map, it shows cars in the ocean, cars drop off network, cars show at the wrong address. I've also had the app fail to end my journey and keep charging me for days. The app also likes to periodically forget my login details. If you have another option, use that instead!

I love the evo service but their app is one of the worst apps I've ever used. It takes forever to load the cars, but this isn't even the worst problem. It'll frequently glitch out, you'll have booked a car and then it "forgets" and you no longer have that booking. You close out of the app and re open, and the booking magically reappears. Yesterday I booked a car, walked there in 7 minutes and the app still hadn't loaded the ability for me to unlock it. It was loading for SEVEN MINUTES

So far the new version seems less bad but right off the bat it suffers from an annoying problem that no other Android apps do. If you swipe up to minimize it so you can use another app, then switch back to Evo app it goes back the splash screen and resets the map and reloads the cars. There is no need for all that nothing has changed in the five seconds since I was using it. The car2go app (may it rest in peace) didn't have this issue.

The app does not immediately update the cars displayed so you end up trying to book a car when it's already booked. You also cannot set up a radar to ping yourself when a car is available. Quite frankly one of the worst apps I've ever used.... I actually have to repeatedly open and close the app most times to ensure that I get the correct list of cars. The worst part is, the app always seem to log me out for no apparent reason. I lose a car because I get kicked out

Horrible app. In addition to having almost 0 cars available in my area between 7-9 am, the app itself is SUPER buggy on my LG G7 and even when I see a car appear nearby and press to book it, in many cases I get an "Oops! Unidentified Error!" and unable to book. Sometimes if I repeat pressing it enough times it actually books the car, but in 99% of cases it doesn't. Map doesn't rotate, there's no radar and you literally have to sit, stare at your phone and wait until hopefully a car pops nearby.

It's a lifesaver of a business. So incredibly convenient and the app works great for me so far. Been saving up for a car now that mine's broken down and Evo's a great alternative for anyone doing transit-unfriendly trips around the town. Hopefully they'll be allowed in Richmond soon. Haven't had any issues with data connection described in other reviews - maybe it's fixed?

Wow the current update (V.8) seems to be a lot smoother and more usable than in the past. No problems finding and booking cars, and Google password quick credential entry still seems to work for me so far but... • "Radar" feature has been removed • Billing tab can't find any past trips; only shows before Dec. 2019. • Filter only has option to find by "Fuel Level". • No one-finger zoom in/out map operation available anymore.

Wow. The app was already pretty bad before Car2go shut down, but now it's absolutely unbearable. I've been over 20 minutes trying to book certain cars and it constantly shows a message that it's trying to connect to the car, followed by "Oops! Something wrong happened". Impossible to book cars. It's useless now.

Thanks for fixing the map problem with the Evo cars disappearing after booking. Idk if it was fixed but after booking a car twice, the app would lock you out of booking it. Even if you were standing right in front of an evo available on the street it wouldnt let you card tap to unlock it. This was a feature car2go had that was useful. Would be great if Evo could adopt. Also please fix the volume of the voice in the cars. Idk if this recently changed but it became so loud and jarring. :/
