Evolution Live Wallpaper
The wallpaper starts out initially as a multi-coloured grid. Over time, this grid will slowly transform (i.e. evolve) into a single colour (or close to that colour). By interacting with your phone, you can change the optimal colour and watch as the cells eventually evolve to that colour all over again!
Here's the nitty-gritty of the algorithm (for those that are interested):
Each pixel square simulates an individual, replicating cell. Cells replicate asexually, but not perfectly (i.e. they mutate).
The cell's traits are defined by its colour -
- specifically, its red, green and blue values. These traits are used to calculate each cell's "fitness" score, using an optimal colour value (see below) as reference. This fitness value determines the cell's reproduction rate, and thus its survivability in the environment.
An "optimal" colour is defined based on a variety of parameters (by default, red is defined by the amount you touch your background, green is based on local time, and green is based on your phone's current battery level).

This is the most fascinating thing related to evolution that I've seen in a while. Never thought I could watch my own "population" evolve while laying on the couch.
Um...great idea, but when i do it does nothing.And if I try to set any settings, if crashes and freezes up my phone. Samsung galaxy S captivate.
"High" cpu usage for a wall... still less than some background apps
This wallpaper is awesome! Every aspect of the evolution sim worked right off the bat, and it barely has any effect on my phone's performance or battery life. My only question is about what controls the blue value of the goal color, the time or the battery life?
Idea is interesting, but it doesn't look beautiful.
It also makes a good decorative background too.

My only improvement would be a more detailed explanation and user interface. Its still brilliant as it is!

Its a very cool app! I like the idea of cells and evolution. I would like it to be slower, not the refresh rate, but the evolution speed...I mean: I set it as backround and in 10 seconds I have most of the screen covered by blu-ish cells
Not worth the time. Simply boring.
I tried to make it my background but it was just all black background.if you can, please fix this problem, FYI im using a samsung tablet. 2 seconds after submitting the above. I got out of the app store and it was working perfectly, lol im so dumb.
