EWA: Learn English & Spanish Language

Great app, maybe the best I've seen (great content, with grammar lessons). I wanted something to improve my upper intermediate english. 2 improvement suggestions : - I have the app for months now, and I would be grateful if there was some "search bar" to find a specific notion or word when I want to refresh my memory. - be careful on some translations, there are still some mistakes or translations which are not accurate in the native language (French for me). - keep adding content

So far, I just use the free options. Two things I like a lot are the daily (polite) nagging to keep practicing and the use of video so that one gets used to hearing native usage of the words or phrases. There's a lot of repetition and sometimes it feels like too much, but I know from my own experience that the multiple repetitions are a good idea.

This app is great in idea but execution leaves much to be desired. I'm a beginner level and I had a few instances where simple greeting were mixed up (text reads "good afternoon" but audio pronunciation reads "good morning") if such basic mix-ups happen at low levels idk what kind of mistakes get through at more complicated levels. Also the library assortment is lacking for newbies. On a last note you will not be able to make adjustments to your subscription/cancel through the app.

What's the point in testing the language level If you will have the same experience no matter which level u got. You need to flick through all the lessons to find those recommended. The lessons are kinda filthy. You can easily get what's the right answer without knowing it, cause all the other options are ridiculously inept. Translations aren't always correct (technically they are, still lack of context lead to misunderstanding). Where on earth you will need all those slang irl

I paid for a year subscription and the app is not reflecting this at all. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app and every time I have to go through a sign up process and it does not save my progress. I also contacted support using the app but I have not heard from anyone. Also will be reporting the issue with Google. I would advise anyone to use another app.

Indicated I was an intermediate speaker and it begin with the most basic of words and then froze. Was not clear that it was possible to have a free trial without giving cc information. I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling but I don't think so.

Not able to use. Offers a 3 day free trial, but you can't get it without a credit card. That's not free. Also, the monthly rate is $4, very reasonable. Except you have to pay for the year in advance. Total BS. What if I die in 2 months? Offer realistic options.

so they want subscription money pretty quickly, but the reading of book texts, clicking learn on words I don't know & then doing like flashcard drills, spelling bees, and wordbanks are very helpful. if Duolingo is like homework worksheets then EWG is the study materials you use for tests & stuff. yay flashcards & stories!

Bad pronunciation. I was introduced to this app by a native Spanish speaking co-worker who is learning English. After using it for a week I quickly realized that it was teaching her incorrect pronunciation of even the most basic words. The idea of it is good and it's enjoyable to use but knowing that I can't use it as a reliable educational source for learning Spanish makes it irrelevant as part of my learning materials.

It teaches real English in a fun way. The length of the lessons is perfect for a busy schedule. Also, I had an issue with my subscription and the support fixed everything in less than an hour after I contacted them. Highly advised!

This app only lets you do three lessons in each course before it hits you with a paywall asking you to subscribe in order to access the rest of the lessons. Which effectively renders it useless. Aren't making enough money on advertising revenue?? I'd give this one a skip.

Can't cancel on app. The Manage Subscription tab disappears before you can click on it. Of course tomorrow is last day to cancel free trial.. and there is no way to cancel. What a scam. I will be contacting my bank to turn you in for fraud. You will not be stealing my money !!!

You can read books with this app and gives you the definition for each word right on the spot. So I'm learning new words faster and some words repeat because it's part of normal speech.

I took a quiz prior to starting the lessons. It seems that no matter how many words you know, you still start with "hola" and the very basics. It feels like a waste of the free 7 day trial. I do like the visual and audio lessons, but I am still completing lessons for words/phrases that I already have learned. That's a little disappointing, especially since there was an assessment.

I'd picked up French here and there over the years. The unstructured learning and limited vocabulary meant I had little confidence in my competence. But with this app, I was able to read and, with the help of the priceless 'click-and-define' function, actually understand the classic stories graded by difficulty. In a nutshell, this app puts joy into learning and delivers results. And their customer service is equally good: responsive, attentive and effective.

Cool idea, execution needs work. The videos load sooo slowly. You can figure it out by the spacing before the video even loads. The audio when you click the speaker is slow, too. The UI isn't clear in the courses section. I love the library function. I wish it would show the last book you opened at the top of the screen.

Contents are good, the app is very slow. The app only works on my mobile data network. It stops working whenever I switch to my home wifi. I've reached out to support several times but they have no clue what's going on. Update: to support, in US there's cellphone network and there's home network( at home, uses cable network). I don't know how else to explain these things to you. Your app does not work over any cable network (any home internet), atleast for me.

I had an issue with my account, but support was very nice and helpful. Make sure to register your account in settings so you don't lose your info! Other than that, the app has some really great content. I'm enjoying it so far :)

Although I am an intermediate Spanish speaker ( on the basis of several tests) even the beginner stories are too difficult. I have had to spend way too much time looking up word definitions to make the experience enjoyable. Also, the translations given by the app are not accurate. I am disappointed.

Scam. Dont tell you how much it costs (and its a lot) until after they make you sign up. What a waste of time. Edit: the answer from the developer is very disingenuous since the only interesting part of the app is the ability to read books in another language. The "free" but they mention is just a bunch of random vocabulary words. Worthless.

I gave you 5 stars because the concept is amazing and you have some features I have never seen before in other app. But, and this is a big but, you lost me when I realized that you used AI as the book's narrator. There are great app with the similar concept but they are using people. That is a huge different for me. Other than that, great work.

3 day trial and then you have to pay. And they don't tell you this until you e wasted several minutes entering your information. I'm sick of apps claiming they're free on the Google Play Store and then immediately charging money. Just list the app with a fee and stop wasting people's time.

Its Good but need more options. Im a Filipino. So Im looking for my native language but they dont have it so i tried english. Coz i wanna learn more English. But then the after I click English the Language I can Learn Is Portuguese and Spanish. I dont know what should I click. To Get English. So I tried a different route. so I tried Japanese. Because i live in japan. Then the Text Become japanese. Which is i cannot read Japanese. Then I click English. Still the text are in Japanese. Need update

What ad if there where ads they are like they lesson I don't remember any... But very good app I have not seen or experienced a better app. Oh and for the Money you get pork chop prices but served filet mignon. This is going to be my last stop with apps I found what Ive been looking for!

they want feedback too soon. after 2min of playing the intermediate lesson I think this app is smart by relating how ppl use their free time which is by txt and phone and short video clips. I like the automated Ewa "helper" she reminds of any app that offers virtual help which is something familiar and does not. make me anxious about learning something new and unfamiliar. didn't like the subscription forced in my face before I even got to play.
