Still a bit buggy. I've lost my ride history twice. And the GPS glitches and says my top speed is to high to register on the leaderboard. Suggestion would be to change the code to check for constant speed over the limit for 5 seconds or more before saying the ride is invalid for the leaderboard. The instant glitching should be ignored when it happens. Most of my rides, the GPS "jumps" and then it says I've exceeded the top speed for my ride. The leaderboard is fun but pointless currently.
Ok app needs some work. One if your in dark mode and searching a country. You can't see it very well. 2 there's no way someone has put 132 miles on there board mid way through the week. I bet they just track anything they do. Wish it auto connected to phone and had true recordings, not just when you remember to start and stop. Also!!!!! I noticed other rides from users near me, be awesome if there was a way to message and communicate!!!!!!!!!
Bit gutted, maps dont load, runs dont record, screen goes off on phone and everything is lost and it crashes all the time. Not sure i want to connect it to my board, might kill it!! Update!!! Some phones will shut down the app when screen goes off, had to go into the apps settings and put it to manual to stop this from happening, now seems to work. Think maybe they should state that would save allot of hassle
Great idea but full of bugs. App kept crashing when starting a ride even after restarting phone. After removing/reinstalling the app, all previous rides and earned badges were lost. The leaderboard no longer loads but when it did load the filters didn't work. It requires a Facebook account to use and seems to constantly run in the background. I really want to use this app so hopefully the next update will resolve these issues.
Have only used this a few times. Complaint atm, is I was on a ride, I paused the route, came back to continue and it completely dropped the route / restarted the app. Recommendation: 1) have a user manual or a small video on how to use the app. Especially on the route it would cause it to display an error. tracking part. Note: new users, it might take a good ~10mins for the location to find you, screen turn off caused an error, click wait Will Update review agian in a few months.
This app is not reliable. I do some pretty long rides and when I pause and go to restart the trip it loses everything. Even had trips where it records and when I open app again it's not recording. This is too unreliable and many km are not recorded which is they key feature for me. Also when it does work I get a message saying my speed exceeded the limit so I cannot share. Great idea but a huge let down. Looking for another app
App is terrible! So buggy it's practically unusable. Can't create a login seperate to Facebook. But the Facebook login doesn't work. So can't track my rides. App always shuts and always freezes. Pretty disappointing that this is the best evolve could come up with seeing as they sell their boards as high end. The board is fantastic! But the app is terrible. Please bring out something better
Like everyone else has explained the app is very dissappointing , cannot utilise FB acct to login ,my rides disappear after trying to get a rating after being displayed for a short time. Needs updating and proper pairing process with my Carbon GTR . For a high end board, you do expect a high end app that gives you peace of mind at the end of the day. Software requires continual updating...
Seriously flawed. Rides are lost !!. You can update the remote ...BUT NOT THE BOARD... when you see updates for the board control unit, ESC, the app shows 3 updates available, EVOLVE, your app will not update the board firmware. This is a concern knowing that Evolve has addressed board electronic concerns or features, but you are unable to apply the update or fix. App is a F Standard. Good thing the board is A class.
App is getting better, great work! The sum of my rides is less than what is showing on the leader board though. I tried logging out / clearing cache and data to reset, but that didn't fix the issue.
Board is flawless but the app needs serious update. My app freezes whenever I start a ride - I can't stop the ride anymore. Also Facebook integration gives error message: feature unavailable. Otherwise UI is great and dark mode is appreciated. Please fix the app ♡
Totally useless app. If you have Google maps and the remote that came with your board, it's the exact same thing. Well, ! maybe not totally useless, I did see a spot to update software for the remote and stuff. But if it isn't broken, why try to fix it?
It doesn't work properly, its GPS doesn't say the right route and the max speed always is wrong. The board is best one and everything. However, the app need to be fix 🔧it. I had to uninstall it.
Its needs work, it is not to accurate when it comes to ride tracking, and I guess there is an odometer in the board but only if you track ever ride, and like I said, it do not track well, i did a 16 mile ride and it told me it was 7, if that was fixed and if the app was not needed for and odometer, this board would be that much more awesome, I ride all the time.
ok initially i gwve 1 stwr as the kept crashing. itneorks now on Android however there is bug Z if u r in the middle of a ride and u go back to main menu the ride tracking , progress and all around it disappears. inhad rhis happened eo maby times. before leaving the map menunu need to finishnthe ride , if u want to browse ranking, again u need to save and finish the ride
App just crashes. It started to record a ride today but crashed again shortly after and no data was saved. I love that this exists and would definitely use it if it worked, waiting for an update before I try again👍
I like the idea of the app. Just not quite there Evolve which is sweet as its a new app and a work in progress. I use strava for mountain biking and its great. Would be cool if i could link my garmin app to the Explore app and use my watch to then do the GPSing as the watch picks up signal alot better. Look forward to the fixes and updates to this app. Thanks Evolve
This app is like a long walk down a windy beach to a cafe that's closed! Won't connect to my board. Won't connect to my remote. Obviously I can't check for any updates and this is after they claim to have improved it.
The permanent location services notification is annoying. There doesn't appear to be a way to close it. Also I've lost 3 rides out of 4. The app itself looks polished though
Fun app but nothing worth downloading unless to customise the GTR. Would be good if had a community news section and also functioned more like AllTrails. Make sure to add the app to your "sleeping apps" setting or the permanent location on even when closed will drain battery (hopefully sorted in next update) Thanks Evolve for building app but please add more or a ride snd share experience like runners, hikers, mtb, etc apps - there is no skateboard app like that yet.
Good features but doesn't close. There needs to be an exit button to shut down the app when you don't want it running in the background. Also should have a basic login. Only aimed towards Facebook users.
I love my GTR and this app interfaces with it pretty well. But the app insists on being on at all times. It asks for GPS data and chews through my phone battery even when not being used. When needed this app is great. I must uninstall it though, it is unrelenting in its power demands.
Linked up to my board no problems (except I had to add a generic board as the Stoke board is missing from the selection) The ride tracking part of the app is incredibly buggy - map doesn't display, frequently hangs.
Great app however have troubletracking the rides. Annoying to have to keep it open to keep the tracker going. Can also restart if you put it in the background.
Doesnt recognise my location often. My location pops suddenly then lost my travel record frequently. Please fix this issues. I ride evolve everyday and it doesnt provide me correct travel logs as it always gives me an error.
Only login availability through fb...FAIL Care to add some more options? Most of this app is USELESS otherwise. Gets a 2 star [rounding way the f up] for the app being able to find me for 1.2 miles out of my 10 mile test ride. This is not a good first impression. I'm having better luck with Relive for tracking rides. Enjoying the hell out of the GTR... If only the app could keep up
Was really looking forward to this but only being able to create a profile via Facebook just ruins it. App constantly crashes as well, haven't been able to record one ride
It basically thinks I'm racing with cars and at the end of every ride my vmax is something like 127km/h so it doesn't count to leaderboard. It's not the phone problems - none of other sport apps did anything like this.
Awful, I'm very dissapointed because suddenly I've lost my all my rides, and now since 4 months after the quarentine I ride for the first time since then, and you know what? The app report a speed totally different than the real one and the map indeed was not rendered with the route I made in this sunset ride, so my rate is no more than 1 star, 👎
The app works pretty well now. You still can't stop to take pictures while on a ride which is a pain... I'd like to be able to track my ride, take photos, and not have my app crash. But with no interruptions the app tracks well. I'd love to be able to leave and read other comments on rides, as well as pictures! Just like AllTrails it would be really cool to have reviews of people's trails as well as photos! That would drastically improve the app. Also currently i can't use filters on the leaderB
