I just got a storage unit at a local Extra Space Storage and downloaded the app to see if it would make it easier to get in and out using the app via my phone rather than punching in my code. I went there today for the first time since I had the app and it was flawless! The gate opened and closed upon command, and my phone shows when i came in and out. For anyone worried about someone accessing the unit, the record on your phone is a nice touch. I'd recommend the app which sure makes life easier!
Nice clean storage units BUT,they will start you at a low price ,a few months later they raise the price about $20-$25.00 + monthly, after about a year they raise the price ($75-$80 + a mo.) I guess they literally bank on you not wanting to move all your stuff, AGAIN. But if approached they will offer you a smaller unit or take overall $10 off the your current unit that they already raised $85 + a mo... PLUS, ALL prices they quote you do NOT include the expensive MANDATORY Insurance or taxes 👎
I have been using Extra Storage Space since September 2014. I used to be able to make my payments within the app. Lately in the last year, the app no longer works. Now, I have to go online to pay my bill and their system always has a problem monthly when I tried to make my payment online. The last 2 months, I called the office to let them know I'm trying to make my payment but system gives me a error message. Problems with system.
Just showed up to my storage unit, planning on unloading and running to an important appointment, and without ANY NOTIFICATION I have a new lock. Called customer service, they gave me instruction and the app won't even download to my phone. It doesn't work for androids?! Guess I'll have to bring my laptop and use my phone as a Hotspot next time. Super. Convince at its finest, Extra Space.
This app is not for the average Extra Space Storage customer. I see many reviews with login errors, and that is likely due to the nature of this app. This app is only for select Extra Space Locations that allow you to access the facility, or your unit, via Bluetooth. This app functions only if you store at such a facility and have opted in for the Bluetooth access option with management. The app will not allow you to pay your bill, or access your account or any such thing. GRANTS ACCESS ONLY!!
Units randomly disappear and reappear randomly. So when you need to get access to the unit it doesn't show up so you can't get access. Customer support is useless and can't actually unlock the door. So your screwed
Horrible app. I can barely make it through the login due to issues with it sending "codes" to verify who I am. When I actually make it through, it freezes or crashes.
Continued from the other post I just did right before this. His co-worker or sidekick (lil miss sunshine) is hands down the best assistant he has had since I've been renting here! She always has a smile on her face, willing to help when she can & able to lift the darkest clouds from your down days! She is very professional, knowledgeable and not to mention, very pretty with a nice smile! In my opinion, she should be promoted to assistant mngr. Or be given a mngr position at another facility!
*** DON'T waste your time! *** I didn't want to leave any stars, but it won't let you post if you dont. Just installed this app...does not work! I get an error message when entering my phone number or email address. Doesn't matter which. I've uninstalled it. Don't waste your time on it. Junk! Why have it if it doesn't work?
Not even worthy of 1 STAR... Cannot log in. Cannot even evaluate this app at all. It gives the User an error message and has a rest password option. Bad coding. This should be one of the very first requirements that should have been tested. Make the company that coded this app fix this issue ASAP. This looks bad against the Extra Space company. As a software engineer and a software test manager, this app would not pass. Login fails.
Doesn't work!! 1st screen is login & won't recognize phone number or email. There's no way to set up a new account for login info. Horrible, no stars!!
This app never worked for me. It would keep saying that my password was incorrect but I would use that same password on the website to get in to my account just fine. I'm sure why it wouldn't accept my login.
We have this app at our store on Page in St Louis MO and I want to give a big shout out to ALEC at the support center for all his help, his customer sevice skills are outstanding and he has a quick resolution to all my issues, he is also always cheerful and courteous. Thank you Alec you are awesome
Does not recognize my email or password. Does not work on my Android, only works on laptop and desktop. Dont waste your time downloading. Please fix? How long do we have to wait for this is fixed? It worked a few years ago? What changed? Aweful!!
app worked fine for me, no problems but once in the beginning. but matter was fixed quickly by tech support who responded faster than employees in office.
Everytime I try to login it says incorrect email,phone number and or password. My email is DEFINITELY correct and it's not giving me an option to put in a password.
Apparently it doesn't work, tried resetting password it wouldn't even accept it, saying 5 more attempts and account will locked out so I just deleted the app, disappointing app.
App keeps telling me password is incorrect. I click the forgot password link (even though I know my password). I type in email, says email doesn't exist in system and same thing with phone number. Using Motorola Z2 force edition.
User Not Recognized. This app will not let me log in. Long ago they had an ap that worked but now o have yo use a web browser. I can log in fine with web browser.
Worthless! Like the other reviews have stated, there is a login error message when entering either your phone number or email address.
Trash ive had my storage unit for 2 years now and the app says none all of my login info is correct (phone number or email) as if i dont know my info like i use that the same info i use to pay my bill.......DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
It is not letting me log into my account on the app. It is giving me an error for my cell number or email address to my storage account.

This app will not accept passwords or emails not even phone numbers. I have been trying this off snd on for almost a year now. How long before it's fixed?
I'm happy they finally have an app but I only request they add a opinion where you can split the payments. That will make it 5 stars for me.
for first time use you may have to get very close to the gate receiver but the app should work normally after that.
Sucks, I've got an online account that should have been synced to this app. Yet it's not frankly I would not give this app any star rating, but in order to post this 1 star is all it's getting.
This app does not recognize my username, email, phone number, or password. Absolutely horrible.

I notice people reviewing the app as it doesn't not work well for android. I had the same issue. Extra Space Storage has switched to this system. The company could not figure out what was going on & the apps customer service was not much help. I figured out if you click on the question mark "?" At the top left of the app when you open it. You will get a screen with all the options. Click unlock gate or storage. Than back out to the main screen & it should turn green as it is intended to.
