If I could give this app "zero" stars...I would. It shuts down after giving the message "server error". I am thoroughly disappointed with my purchase. Basically, I wasted my hard earned money.
Update: New glasses are great. The app works good, the device is decent, and the results seem accurate. Though the only way to really find out is to take the test, then go to an eye doctor and get checked, and compare results. If the numbers are within .5, then you're technically good to go. I trust the science behind this more than the fickle and finicky users with no patience or crappy phones. Ive taken 5 tests so far with fairly consistent results. I'm pretty sure they're accurate.
Although this app won't replace a visit to an optician, I found it really helpful to get prescription reading glasses instead of generic glasses with a standard diopter rating. A bit tricky to use at first, but after a few tests it became very easy. Multiple tests helped to zero in on the figures to get a consistent result. A worthwhile investment.
Very interesting product. With Covid lockdown meaning I couldn't get my eyes tested, this seems to be a good solution. The measurement process takes a little bit of getting used to as you need to hold the phone still and put the eye cup in exactly the right place, but once you have the technique, it's really quick to do. Looking forward to ordering my first pair of glasses from the measurements I've made!
Had difficulty even seeing the two lines. Prescription was way off. I was not happy with the EyeQue at all. No way to reset it as far as I could tell in order to get a more accurate test. Once you set the first numbers it seems to be locked in. And yes, I had a pair of glasses made, it was a waste of time and money for me. I won't even sell it as used. I'd feel awful about ripping someone off.
Relatively easy to use. There is a practice test they walk you through before actually testing your eyes. Good support by email if you have any problems, they are very quick to respond. They gave helpful suggestions when my results were inconsistent. I was able to get good reading, but I have not yet ordered new glasses.
I just got this product today. Takes a bit of getting used to but it seems good. My one complaint is about adding family members. I tried to add my son, paid the 4.99 for the subscription then found out he needed separate account. I hope the membership on my account just adds another year. I added a membership to my son's account. It shows me in the history I purchased it but it still says expired in the app. I need to contact customer support when they open.
I have the unit but have not had access, I was told that my phone would work, then it didn't. Then I was told that I needed a phone with 250 PPI or above and it would work...I got a different phone to use with the PVT and it DOES NOT work...buyer beware, I don't think they know what they are doing or talking about most of the time. This has been since October of last year and still NOT fixed. UPDATE : I've been asked to provide the diagnostic report for my device...BUT my device cannot access the app, it says "your device is not compatible with this version"...so NO WAY to submit the diagnostic requested. Previous correspondence told me: > having an issue right now with the server and it's blocking everyone since it cannot connect to the server. Once this issue has been fixed, that smartphone should be able to connect just fine. This is affecting all Android smartphones, not just those that are incompatible (with PPIs lower than 250). We hope to have this fixed soon.< That was Dec 12th
This is a great option for anyone wanting to get a handle on what their eyeglasses prescription might be. I needed to get distance glasses for driving at night, but didn't want to go out during the pandemic unless absolutely necessary. This app helped me get a good idea of my numbers, as well as the chance to purchase a test pair of glasses fit under $20. It was the perfect temporary fix for my situation. It will also let me test my eyesight anytime I want between doctor visits.
This actually works, and that's amazing to me! I got my new glasses yesterday, and they're exactly right! No more eye fatigue, and I can see stuff I had no idea I was missing! When the COVID lockdown began, I needed new glasses, but in person appointments weren't allowed. I finally decided to try EyeQue, and I'm so glad!
After the first test I got the knack of it. Give it a few tries, and you will master the way to do it. It was a little annoying having to do 3 tests before results. But, overall it's easier, and cheaper than having to travel to a doctor, and pay much more, for the same results. I would have given a 4th star if I could figure out how to delete my first test, that I wasn't confident that I was doing the test correctly.
So far so good. Will update after 3rd test to see results. Easy to set up and practice tests are a great help. Once you get the feel of it, it goes very easy. I'm hoping it records all the tests after the 3rd initial test, will see. Wish the PD tests were also saved. Made my own to just double check. Will update once I get more data.
Not easy at first, but after a view practice runs, i felt quite competent to get solid readings. The trick is to have just one item to focus on with the non tested eye. it takes a lot of patients. i don't think an older person can get this done.
Seems to work correctly. I did not read the fine print to figure out that this app requires a yearly membership fee after one year. The test takes less time than waiting at an optometrist office. This product is only for one person. Family members have to purchase their own yearly membership. Too many fees make this app not as economical as expected. It does save time but at the expense of membership fees and not being assessed by an optometrist to detect eye anomalies or abnormalities.
So far it has been very smooth doing the tests. I completed my tests and got my results. I ordered a pair of test glasses and I got an email response from support with some concern that my PPI setting might be set inaccurate in the app compared to the phone that I was using. They wanted to insure I was getting the best and most accurate test results before having the test glasses shipped to me. That's great customer service.
you have to take your time and practice and practice when you take the test it will seem easier try not to be overwhelmed taking the test is not overwhelming. relax and enjoy the test will be taking better care of my eyes knowing what my numbers are more often. Thank you EyeQue!!!
Easy to use app though it does take a while for all the tests. Still it's much more convenient than going to the optometrist and especially during this pandemic. Also the price of 5 dollars a year for unlimited testing is great.
The app wouldn't work on my Moto 4G phone, the practice test worked great, but when it came to the actual test, it didn't work at all. When I looked for info about the problem, discovered it was not designed for my phone. So, I gave the Eyeque optic piece it to my grand daughter, she downloaded this app and it worked great on her Samsung. She got an accurate eye test and found it simple to use. She was able to order eye glasses. It was my fault for not reading everything before purchase.
Very simple vision test, it's a little lengthy but it's understandable to get an accurate exam. A lot of eye places are.closed during the pandemic, and seeing as my glasses are nearly four years old this worked great to get a new prescription
I was skeptical but sure enough, it works. Ive always felt that my vision would be different if i had it tested every day. Seemed like my glasses were never quite right. At least now i can kind of average out my test results and get a more accurate prescription. Thanks guys, awesome app
I was amazed that such a thing as the Eyeque device existed when I came acrossed it recently. One of my eyes was difficult to work with as I had expected it to be. The other, easy. I have not proven to myself just how good Eyeque is as yet as I have not as yet ordered any new eyeglasses. But the Eyeque device is of such high quality I have no doubt the glasses will be fine.
Great tool and app for eyeglasses. Very easy to install and get started. A friendly voice walks the user through all the steps. I feel confident with the results. Recommend!
This is an affordable resource that is super handy. The unit talks you through the process from start to finish. I didn't need them, but there are additional resources if you do. You can even use your numbers to order glasses. Highly recommend.
The numbers it gave me were very similar to the ones that the doctor gave me. You have to angle your head to see both lines and maybe hit the plus button many times to separate the lines and then bring them back together. But great little contraption.
Problems solved. Found the app shortcut under IVT and using this solved my problems. However I think it worth mentioning that it is essential to gently place against eye, if it is pressed too firmly the image is lost.
Phone meets smartphone requirements. But is unuseable. First test cant hit + or - as it says maxed and green line shows up half way while red doesnt show up at all. Wasted money on the eye tester and glasses just to be unusable on a phone thats well above the minimum requirements. Not happy.
Works very well for me. The test itself must be done carefully, as being off-axis results in either of the colored lines disappearing but knowing that helps you get accurate results. The proof's in the pudding - glasses I order with the resulting EGNs are dead-on sharp. Thank you for making this technology available to us common people! Full disclosure: I'm an old-school photographer, so I have a thorough understanding of optics.
