Cannot connect to the Inverter if it is on a different subnet because the app uses only network broadcasts to discover devices. The developer must make the Inverter IP or network name configurable so that it can be accessed also from different LAN subnets
Smartmeter test is not always working sometimes freezes. Edit Nov 2021: Version 4.3.1 is buggy. version 4.4.1 doesn't work at all.
App does what it needs to but doesn't make it easy, If there was a way to let it connect to the IP address assigned to it in the network it's on, it would allow much more usability, and ease of access. The WiFi modules on the inverters aren't the best, and drop connection often especially while devices connected to its own hotspot, for setting updates.
Useless beyond belief. The developer has absolutely no clue about good UI and UX. It's horrendously difficult to set up, gives absolutely NO insight or assistance, and has no business being in the app store. Ultimately it does not work, despite trying everything I could for several hours.
Finally after many tries I got it working. Still get buggy but I can see my usage etc
Clunky, slow and far too limited to be useful. A very, very basic app which is a pain to use
4 Aug 2020, first picture needs updating. The math is incorrect. The "house" should be a total of backup and load. Not a subtraction. 1 May 2020, seems better. Why can this app not show the internal temp like the portal app? It is directly connected after all. New update is worse. I could access GW through house WiFi, now I have to connect direct. Not as convenient.
New version is crashing all the time Very bad update
It used to work but I had not been able to reconnect my GoodWe inverter to wi-fi for some months. Finally got that sorted, wend to the app and not even an option to login. Any changes require an installer password. Going to remove and rely on the web page.

This app is really rubbish. The economical mode doesn't work, ans just allowe the battery to be flattened very quickly.The old version worked fine until the 4 sones were added, whicjh brok it. I have tried two different Hybrid Invertes, ans have the same problem. Perhaps it is a firmware issue as iOS is affected too. Update at your peril.
May 2020 update. No.improvement. can see inverter on wifi list but app will not connect. Feb 2020 update: No improvement - still not able to connect. Using a Nokia 8 smartphone on Android 9. Tried using Samsung J8 and could connect but still have to change to inverter network to see details. Nov 2019: Unable to connect. Have followed instructions. Inverter network found on phone but app simply not working or recognising network name when manually entered.
Most of the time this app doesn't work. When I do get connected to my inverter, it doesn't show the full list of battery types and so I can't select the correct batteries, which I know it does support.
Since the update the alarm info function doesn't work. Always says 'failed to get data' . Even when the fault light is lit on the Inverter. I'm directly connected via WiFi...
Changing settings only sometimes works. Changing work modes causes settings to change. Some settings are disabled in some work modes. Wi-Fi connection is unreliable
We struggle with it all the time. Never just works
Terrible app. Latest version "forgets" the settings you put in and often defaults to random values. In this version the self define battery option is now completely unusable on Smasung phones
It has less configuration options than I expected. The info is a bit delayed, it must show constant real time information.
Generally happy with the app, although I've found a very specific bug that I would like to raise. Currently I have my On-Grid DOD set to 5% and my Off-Grid DOD set to 80%. I wanted to make a change to the On-Grid DOD, to set it to 0%. I did this, I was prompted to restart the inverter and everything appeared correct. The battery did not drop below 100%, as expected. A day later, when the power went out, my system switched to battery, but when the battery reached 90%, it cut out. After investigation, it appeared the Off-Grid DOD had been changed to 10%. I've replicated the issue consistently: 1) Ensure On-Grid DOD is set to 5% and Off-Grid DID is set to 80% 2) Update On-Grid DOD to 0%, press the Set button next to it, click back, agree to the inverter being restarted 3) After the restart go back into the settings - On-Grid DOD is now 0% and Off-Grid DOD is now 10% (incorrect) Workaround - when changing On-Grid DOD to 0%, if I press the Set button next to Off-Grid DOD, to ensure both On-Grid and Off-Grid DOD are set, then the system holds both values. If I only set the On-Grid DOD, then I loose my Off-Grid DOD setting (or have it overwritten to 10%). Please fix this bug.
Very frustrating to use app in combination with WiFi only hybrid inverter goodwe es 4.6. permanent connection failers, inaccurate information to my current load status and diagnose messages not very clear.
I can not connect to the inverter. The inverter shows up on the list but I can never get any data or change settings.
It works, little clunky but it works. No option for the Pylon US3000 unfortunately. Not sure why it was removed. Still can't believe they cannot afford better debelopers.
Had to do a lot of research to even figure out how to set it up and I can't get passed selecting a country. Just says setup failed.
Since upgrading to the latest version the app now causes a fault on my inverter and wifi stops working. This version needs backing out ASAP
After update goodwe solar system became useless to control. Now can't use battery power on offgrid mode even as it is set to 50% battery use inverter shutsdown just after I updated app. Now updated again 28 sep 2020 have exact same problem as before.
New version doesn't work on iphone. Information on app incorrect - does not update with correct usage.
Horrible English... you have to read everything twice to try figure out what the app is trying to tell you.
This would have to be the most useless app around. Hardly ever connects and when it does, you can't adjust or set anything as the app has lost connection. There should be an option for no stars as that is what this app deserves.
