UPDATE: I passed the written first try with an 80% Questions and scenarios were spot on with this software. I am currently studying for my ifr written test. This software was recommended to me from several friends who have used it and have passed their test the first time around. I decided to buy the software and couldn't be happier with it. It allows me to study literally anywhere, and with the save function I can resume where I left off later in the day. The information is always being updated and their explanations to questions and answers are very in depth and accurate. There are multiple study options available for all types of study habits and all tests are saved for review in your cloud account. A MUST HAVE for anyone preparing for their exams.
it's a total rip-off, I've got an up to date system and it keeps crashing repeatedly even after reinstalling several times due to their advice..no help other than that...Use Gleim, they're the best and never a single issue..
works well. I like the way the questions are delivered, and the "stacks" thing makes it simple to retest what I don't know. worth the cost in my opinion.
This app works good and has up to date content. The recent update solved the problems I was experiencing earlier.
I've used the app in the past to study for my knowledge test. This time it won't even open and run. 50 dollars and won't open once.
This app has been veey beneficial in preparing me for my helicopter instrument rating. I highly recommend this app if your pursuing your helicopter instrument rating
Too many old questions which refer to figures that are no longer in the testing supplement. Other questions bring up the incorrect figure. Needs to be significantly updated
Way too expensive for what you get. Incredibly buggy, and audio is very poorly done.
Currency and audio
Can't even study without it crashing every 5 to 10 mins. Wish I could just Flippin study...
Its a good app, great for learning but it crashes every 2 questions or so making it almost impossible to study.
While I was studying for my ground exam I found one question in this app that the answer was wrong. I emailed the company with the error and nobody replied my email with an explanation. When I did my exam last week I passed, but this app didn't help as none of the questions shown on this app were available in the real exam. I passed because I found other reliable source and also cheaper, something I really could trust. Shame I already spent my money in the commercial pilot app, wish I can have my money back
After using Dauntless VFR test prep app and breezing thru the exam, purchasing their IFR knowledge test prep app was without hesitation an easy decision. Best few bucks I've invested in my aviation learning curve. Highly recommend Dauntless! SWLowry
Passed both tests today. The actual test questions were the same as in this app. Audio version was very helpful to me.
I have been using this software for almost ten years,and have had no issues till now. The audio does not work it locks up and when it does work most of the questions are missing. But the real problem, there is no support. I have e mailed twice with no response.
These guys have put together a GREAT test preparation AND learning tool. I've used Gleim and ASA, and still do to obtain the "Instructor sign-off", but I start with this application and the various FAA publications (all of which are free to download). Really, all kidding aside, this FAA Instrument Knowledge application is great. All FAA written exam questions are available for download from the FAA web site, BUT it is the ANSWER EXPLANATIONS provided by this application that really do allow for understanding the material. If you don't like it after purchasing it, they will refund the purchase, but I've never had any desire to. Using tablet with Android OS.
As others have said, these are the exact questions you'll see on the FAA test. Their UI is clunky but the app works and the content is correct.
It does not even open.
The questions are the same questions that are on the FAA written test. Very nice explanations on app, very detailed and well explained. I used solely this app to practice for the written exam, great preparation.
I had a question and their customer support team responded same day with an explanation clearly describing my options.
Very good app that helped me greatly in passing the written test and I will continue to use in future to keep the information fresh. Very helpful in prepping for knowledge test although I preferred the desktop version (seemed more up to date). Some figures take some work moving around on tablet. Shouldn't have to pay for a desktop and mobile version.
The look and feel of the app is not very good. However, the content and usefulness are excellent. Update: Just passed the written with a score of 97. I credit this app. The explanations given for each question are superb. Thank you Dauntless! (look and feel...still not so great).
Great product, very helpful in prep for my written tests. Full explanations to all questions, not just boring text you can get out of the textbook, they really explain the correct answer, so your learning, not just memorizing. Access to FAA library, great support, and constant updates. 5 STARS!!!!!
This program is fantastic! Includes every bit of the PC version. I have several of their programs and used them to pass all of my writtens/checkrides. Would definitely buy again!

I used this app for my CFI-Instrument written test, though most people will use it for the IFR written. In a word, it's excellent. There are a lot of good features, but what really sets it apart are the highly detailed explanations. App worked like a charm on my Xoom tablet. I scored 100% on my test - this app is worth every penny.
program keeps shutting down after 10-15 questions on my S7. I have reported the problem multiple times via their help desk, email etc. and no response for help. Very frustrating for the lack of response and the fact the app cost money. Never had this problem with their other apps and that's why I chose this for my IFR. A response regarding why it isnt working (or a phone help desk) would be appreciated. UPDATE: Shortly after the above review, I got a response. Cant zoom on the study figures.
