I am enjoying this app very much. It helps me stay in touch with people and reminds me when it is time to connect with someone again. Without it, months can go by without us noticing. I like the ability to add reminders for specific things and notes of important details. Few suggestions: - Once a reminder is ticked, take that automatically as a connection. - Consider creating a widget to tap quickly if you connected with someone. - Consider integration with website use on a computer.
I started using this app today. There have already been some bugs, such as buttons on the bottom get covered by the icon/tabs so I can't see what they say, and some contacts appear with the photo of another person (my brother's pic with my friend's contact info???). This app would be 100% more useful to me if it also had a desktop/web based component so I could take my personal relationships as seriously as my work (which is accomplished on a computer). I've opted for a 30-day trial, so we'll see if it's worth paying for. At the moment, it's telling me that I don't have anyone to reach out to today even though I just added a whole bunch of people? Also, the wordless icons are not necessarily self-explanatory so I'm just kinda tapping and guessing.
This app was okay and had an interesting concept, but was changed to a (pretty expensive) subscription model. After data mining and requesting quite a bit of feedback, they didn't even provide special offers for the first users. Features were suddenly stripped and you can only access your notes again by giving them money. I understand that you have to have income from users or ads, but it could have been transitioned to a paid app with greater transparency.
So far, I'm very impressed! This is exactly the type of app I need - something to help nudge me to send a quick message/connection. From my little bit of exploring so far, there are even thoughtful prompts. One adjustment I made after adding people individually was to group certain people together (like my in-laws) who I contacts at the same time, that way there are fewer notifications. From the reviews, it seems like the developers also take into account feedback. Very clean and well designed
Obscenely expensive for what you get. Great idea, but the free version is too seriously hobbled to be useful. I would happily pay a one off cost but nearly £60 a year is frankly nuts. This can all be achieved with more flexibility using OneNote, including the reminders and even analytics. Such a shame. I'm very tempted to make a competing app given for free and monetise adverts instead. Will be very surprised if this is still going in 2022.
I love being able to make notes about my conversations, so I can follow up certain discussions. I would like more flexibility on setting the connection frequency. Current options are every week, every 2wks and every month. Should be able to customize this, but at the very least, an every 3 month option. Also picking a calendar date is useful, eg if friend has a big event... And I second a previous comment about picking notification times/ specifying a snooze interval
Doesn't work properly, won't recognize messages to contacts. I asked the developers why Fabriq doesn't recognize when you have contacted someone and requires you to enter the data manually and they said it was a deliberate choice. In my opinion a very bad one, but other people may enjoy doing a lot of data entry on their phone for no particular reason. EDIT: To developers: I will literally pay you to make it work. Your choice.
I really love the concept and I have been looking for an app like this for a while, but unfortunately it is so slow on my phone and I can't figure out why. When I press a button it sometime takes up to ten seconds before I even get a visuell response for pressing the button. This is really frustrating and therefore I can't give the great review that this app would deserve otherwise.
Really easy to set up and use. I've tried to make a "social spreadsheet" before on my own, but this app is way more comprehensive and helpful than creating a system on my own. I'm very curious about the app's future, specifically its intended monetization model, since there is currently no subscription plan (and no in-app ads, which would honestly bother me much more lol).
I love the concept and I'm liking the app so far. It would be great if tips or blogs and articles were added to the app on friendships, connections and relationships, which I think would add depth to the app and increase app engagement to boot.
Pretty good and unique what it does, but the lack of integration with other messaging apps (messenger, whatsapp etc) make importing contacts anda managing the app a bit of a chore. Looking forward to see if future updates address that. Edit after 6th May 2020 App will only gey worse with limits on having only 30 people, no notes for free users etc. Meant to be used with subscription, otherwise it has the same functionality as a spreadsheet. Another startup app meant to be buyed up.
Great app, but buggy. Love the functionality, however there are two main problems: 1. When using right-to-left language as the phone's main language - the circles don't show, and the app behaves weirdly. 2. The app is overall slow and not responsive. I'm using Galaxy A50.
I've been using Fabriq for awhile, but they recently updated and put much of their functionality behind a paywall. I understand that the developer needs to make money, but I would expect future/new features to require a subscription, not pre-existing ones. Highly recommend you stay away unless you're willing to shell out for the subscription.
This is the app i have been waiting for! No more weird notes all over the place of people and trying to remember important things. Would LOVE to be able to create my own circles and label them. Rather than given labels "close, extended, etc" if I could create "family, book club, etc." And if there would be a relationship titled "acquaintance." Some people arent friends (yet) or family but I still desire to connect with somewhat regularly. Love this app though.
I really like the idea of intentional social interactions. A big part of it for me is using digital tech intentionally — and as a result, less. It would help if Fabriq acted as a dashboard for other social apps: so I would first decide whom to connect with, and then how, all within Fabriq. EDIT: I just noticed there is a way to do that — a little lightning bolt next to calling / texting. Somehow it was not salient enough to notice, or maybe I missed it in the initial tutorial.
Great in theory. But without control over when I get reminders (i.e to schedule them) or snooze them for a particular length of time, I get reminders all day (while I'm at work for example) but can't act on them in the moment. So then I don't act on connecting. Add the ability to set the time for reminders or snooze to a specific time or length of time. I would set my reminders for in the evening when I have time to reach out.
Pretty cool idea, but the app is ugly and makes the idea and service itself a hassle. I would rather grant the app more permissions to just have it just work instead of asking me. Even if there are limitations on reading SMS, at the very least there should be an option to let it just auto assume I've made a connection if I have a notification from someone. I'm uninstalling for now but I hope to see more of this in the future. Hopefully, with Google buying this and making it a system feature.
When I first downloaded the app, I could add as many notes and reminders as I wanted for free. Now I have to pay for "ALL ACCESS" in order to access those once-free notes and reminders. That just feels like the developers are either desperate for money or just greedy.
Has potential, but the anti-social networking view is limiting. The app is designed to 'replace' social networking apps, but I feel that it would be better complemented by features like Facebook birthday imports and the ability to message on Facebook, WhatsApp, etc (in addition to text).
I'm finding this app really useful for helping me keep in touch with friends and family in a meaningful way. When I was growing up my grandmother kept a notebook beside her telephone to take notes during phone calls. It helped her remember what was going on in the lives of the people she loved. I always thought it was a brilliant strategy but ever since the widespread adoption of mobile phones, it has not been easy to implement. This app not only fills that void AND reminds me to stay in touch, it also gives suggestions for conversation starters which I find particularly useful for people I've been out of touch with for far too long. I'm really pleased with it.
It will only let me add one person at a time. If I try to add multiple people, it takes me through the whole process and then adds no one. And it's not saving my personal information. Too buggy to be functional right now. I have a OnePlus6
I use a password manager so that I can use longer passwords. These passwords are long and difficult to type manually. While signing up for an account, it did not allow me to paste the password into the password field. This is not user friendly for people who want to have a unique password for every account they open.
So far this is great! The only feedback I would have is that it would be really nice to have the ability to add custom labels (neighbor, acquaintance, birth-parent for instance) for people that count for more than "family" or less than "friends" that you want to keep in contact with. Also, some of my people only keep in touch via postal mail, or via messenger/im/other app, so having a place to note that in the contact section would be super helpful. Right now I'm just putting that in notes.
