Really like it. Once set up it's very easy to use. Overview of fares is intuitively laid out. Also, definitely cheaper per journey than paying when boarding. So far, it also seems to be able to work out best rate local fares ( e.g. day saver tickets, etc ) pretty instantaneously - this is based on Thuringia, Germany. Wish I'd known about it sooner.
The core functionality is very useful. Unfortunately the app performs pretty bad considering how simple the UI is. None of my other apps lag on this phone. Today I've had an annoying encounter where out of nowhere I couldn't use my profile anymore and had to add a "new" payment method. I added the exact same credit card as before and it worked again. Still better than physical tickets but room for improvement.
Can't find the cheap ticket options for Würzburg (6 journeys). Cheaper to buy a physical ticket even though it ought to be the other way round. Only useful for emergency use if you're out of cash
Very easy to install and use. I use it in Freiburg for tram rides, the ticket price was so far always lower compared to the regular fare
Uses so much battery! Please fix this. Otherwise the app is great but it makes the phone basically unusable.
The app works perfectly, but the pricing is really bizarre and often doesn't make any logical sense. The €10 daily maximum is also much more than a €5,60 day ticket offered by the local transport association. Yes, it's cheaper than the full-region day ticket, but I'm not using the distance that ticket is required for. I'm spending more money using this app. Today I made two identical journeys in opposite directions and the cost of one was nearly twice the cost of the other. Confusing.
Really simple and easy to use it. Geolocation is very precise and never had any problems with it! Good job guys! Two remarks: -App is extremely battery consuming. -I often forget to end my journey again when getting out of the bus/train. The reminder that my session is still running comes too late. Maybe there is another and better alternative to that.
Great app. I only got my fingers stuck in the problem reporting tool. It was obscure to me - I had the feeling my report had been ignored for a few months. But it was correctly processed actually. The solution proposed is to make the followup of issues within the app, rather than email. Emails are overcrowded. I my case, I only look at my inbox (contains only emails from trusted people). The Fairtiq confirmation emails went to my Updates autofolder, which I dont consult. My bad, but classic
Can only be used with Visa or Mastercard for payment. Kind of shady, because that is rather unusual in Germany. So in the moment, it's kind of not really usable. Gonna try again at a later stage and see if they fixed that and add IBAN or GiroPay and will change my rating accordingly.
Couldnt register my credit card, had to pay a 100€ fine for not having a valid transport ticket.
A very good app, 10/10 would use again. I wish the app would make a lot of noise when it thinks I should stop my journey to remind me.
1.Tried adding my card and no information was given of what they need me to enter there. (apart from card details there are 2 other lines to fill. with what?) 2. After filling all the lines in the best way i could, and after approving the card, it says "sorry, something went wrong. try later." i gave all my information, all my card details and end up uninsalling the app. useless.
Very easy to use, gives the best price available rather than having to guess which ticket to purchase with the endless amount of choices within the manual machines. Great notification when i forget to swipe off after my journey is complete which is much appreciated. Great simple app.
Payment setup always fails with connection error
In one day I took a few buses and trains around Austria ... and at the end of the day the app bundled all my journeys together and automatically applied a multi-travel discount offered by the Austrian transport network. This saved me money compared to buying each trip individually. Very easy to use the app. Highly recommended for tourists to Austria (and Switzerland, I guess).
It's one of the best app on my phone. very good design, very pratical. No more hassle of finding the right ticket. Many times it gave me a daily ticket as I took the bus more often than initially anticipated, and it helped me saving money. Congrats to the team that thought and develop that app. I already convinced a few of my friends to use it.
2 Stars for the Concept but 0 stars for reliablity and udeability. Everytime im gonna take a bus i cant rely on it because it too often just doesnt work. Its either a connection issue or the app is just broken for multiple weeks at a time. Opening the app and buyin a ticket sometimes take 2 minuted for literally 1 buttonpress (opening app) and 1 swipe (buying a ticket).
FAIRTIQ is perfect if you occasionally take the public transport. Simple to use, reliable even if you forget to stop the travel at the end point. It would be great if it could be used in more than one region at a time (e.g Austria + Switzerland).
I am a Swiss citizen, retired, use public transport 100% for my travels (mostly hiking day trips). Just recently I gave up my GA, so far I am saving money (rainy days I stay home). I go hiking in some remote spots, until now amazingly the app always found my bus stop. I like that I can switch between 1st and 2nd class as the situation dictates (i.e. friends with 2nd class ticket). So far very pleased with the app. I would like to see the coverage area extended to even more countries, and please get the ZVV on board to support all ticket options (e.g. day passes).
Terible terms and conditions. They simply overcharge all the time for your journey because GPS did not work quite precisely or the simply did not let to stop the journey. Moreover, you have to mind pick up your phone and checkout in the app every time when you finish your journey, which absolutely not a natural thing to do and of course you forget to do it very often - then they blame you that you did not check out and overcharge you for that. It is probably worst User Experience I ever seen.
I planned on using this app for my commute from Oerlikon to Winterthur, because I like the premise. Instead of the Fr. 6.50 I pay through the official SBB app per ride, though, I paid Fr. 7.50 with this one today. Maybe that has to do with the distance or whatever, but for me this app did not work as advertised. It is more of a hassle and more expensive than the SBB app and I will not be using it anymore. Shame, I wanted to like it.
I like 2 things about FAIRTQ, the app chooses the right ticket/price for my journey, the promotions/discounts are attractive. Since I started using FAIRTQ, I have been paying less! It works without any problem and I'm 💯 percent satisfied! I hope one day it becomes a valid app for the entire Germany ❤️ FAIRTQ ❤️
Convenient app. Would be great if you could have multiple payment methods (company and private) Edit: thanks for the response. It is in fact possible to add different cards. Would be great if American Express was supported
They cover virtually everything in a very effective way. I had a double charging issue due to my smartphone malfunctioning (not an issue with the app) and they sent a refund after exchanging few emails.
Although i stopped the ride because i was buying a normal ticket it still charges me money as if i would have traveled with the app.
Works very well! Story: Arrived at Zürich Airport and ran to my train. I had no ticket yet and SBB app would not let me purchase one, as it was "not available anymore". So I just opened FAIRTIQ, swiped right, and boom chakalaka had my ticket booked. Thank you very much.
Easy to use, in theory. In practice, I've been having trouble geolocating myself. Sometimes it takes 3, worst case was ~7 minutes just so I can activate my ticket. I've never had issues with gps on this phone and this feature used to work a lot more reliable. Not sure what changed.
