This used to be a 5 from me and I still use it daily, but I'll be looking for a competitor. unfortunately the developer hasn't been able to keep up with the way Android continues to develop and more and more functions are becoming less stable or entirely unavailable, even with rooting and patching. It is super frustrating when the app randomly stops functioning and the condescending faq is rarely useful if you know what you're doing.
App works really well if you follow the instructions. It did however stop working for me and after a few quick emails from a very helpful support team the app was back up and running again. I would like to say the support team were brilliant at getting back to me via email, they replied almost straight away, in the region of about 6 emails over 2 hours if it was that long. Thanks again.
Works perfectly when done properly. I have lots of different routes set up to spoof me walking and going for runs etc. The joystick is temperamental but works 90% of the time. I havent rooted my phone and it still works. A makeshift case of tinfoil and cardboard sorted out the rubber banding. Just read the FAQ and you'll understand how to make the most of this app no problem 👍
Great app! The one thing that I'd like to see in a subsequent release would be the ability to set the speed of travel on individual legs of the route (waypoint to waypoint) and/or the ability to interface with an app like Waze to incorporate real time traffic information for a more realistic simulation. Another improvement might be to allow for configurable timed stops along the route for simulating stops at a grocery stores, gas stations or fast food outlets. I'd gladly pay for that app.
It is a tool that does the bare minimum and is too expensive at the current rate. The app is ok but the features are confusing, many of the fuctions are not explained well (lack of layman tutorial). The mock route is great idea but could use a timer (next to the joystick) to show progress or the next bump. The joystick doesn't seem to respond and then it throws your marker over the map - very frustrating. But switching between apps and selecting a point works, though not as advertised.
Half of the app works... (2 stars for) the joystick half works... The Routes part Only makes routes in airplane mode (straight lines) and has a hard time even calculating that. I even tried to import a .GPX file. But even that shows up in Airplane Routing Mode with no way to edit it... Also if you could disable all the warnings when expert mode is on that would be great. I don't need to read them every time I open the app, or be told I'm reading them to fast...
Goodness gracious is this app a mess to navigate. I understand the process of setting this up is complicated, but the organization of the FAQ doesn't help matters. I read the entire FAQ before downloading the app per the description and was confused as hell. The FAQ addresses problems in a seemingly random order, so when problems inevitably arose during setup, I was spending way too much time looking around for what I needed. You HAVE to root your phone, and by then you don't need this app.
App does as expected, is frequently updated and works well. FAQ is clear and well documented. Suggestion: I would like to suggest a feature to improve on a current functionality though. When you tap on the compass direction it not only resets but flips it's current direction. Example if currently south, reset to north. If currently north, switch to south.
So a little about my use. I have been using this app almost daily for a few months now. Like everything it has many pros and cons. I'll start with the negatives. After watching a few YouTube videos I was able to install the app but the instructions seem to be a major problem point for people and instead of trying to implement better explanation or pointing you to a YouTube video, the company says email them. I appreciate them being available but they should alter their instructions. App crashes after a few days without play services updating or anything and I have to reinstall it. Not a huge issue but is a waste of 5 minutes once or twice a week. But those are really the only negatives. It seems like the company is very responsive to emails and likes to help so that's a plus. The most important thing about this app is you get owhat you pay for. Once you go through the difficulty of figuring out how to install it, it is simple to use and very easy. The joystick overlay is nice (can't move it to the left side of the screen which annoys me). Overall I'm not giving it a 5 because it has frustrated me a few times but i would pay more for what the app does and how simple it is to use.
Everything was working for over a month now, set up properly through app, i followed the FAQs and had no issues until 2 days ago when it all just suddenly stopped working. Everything loads but the GPS doesn't change at all no matter how many times i remove, reinstall, and reconfigure. Once this is fixed i will change the rating.
They have put time into the FAQ but that just serves to illustrate what an incomplete app it is at present. I paid for the pro version and the work arounds just to get it to work are very complicated (didnt even work in the end) I feel like if you pay that much money then you should have a working product to show from it.
Does exactly what it's supposed to as long as people do what it says and read through the FAQ! Seriously, they put it step by step with numbers and everything. The joystick is fast and efficient (although it doesn't seem to work in real-time for no-root because of the android security. You have to pull the joystick then wait for it to update). Great app and hardworking team!
The app works well for rooted devices, but not for standard devices. The FAQ is a bit jumbled making it hard to find info, unless you use "find in page". However after reading through multiple times just to be sure there are no fixes to enable expert mode on a device that isnt rooted while using developer options. It's a great app on my other devices, just not for my samsung s8.
It works every time for me without dropouts or wandering. I delayed buying a new phone for fear it would somehow not work as before. But it works flawlessly. Recommended.
Works on my droid turbo, will not work on my HTC One M8. Did the same things exactly. Got it as a system app but when I uninstall it, it stays in my apps list and causes rubber banding from the US to Aussie. After the new update is when it started not working. The previous did. I'll change my rating when it's fixed.
App works great but it's incredibly annoying. I wish I could just get on and use it without a pop-up I've already read stopping me from doing anything until I've stared at the box for several seconds. The pop-ups are out of date and even though I've managed to make the app work in android 11, I still have to deal with this. Also, I have to reinstall the app every week because it somehow keeps losing the license. I don't fault the app for that, I assume it's because I'm using a heavily modified, google-free phone and most of what I need to do on it requires some tinkering.
