So, I finally found this game again and I do absolutely love it, it is truly the beat game ever... However, when I reinstalled, I can't get past the loading screen. I know first time downloads (different phone than when I first played) take a bit longer, but like another review I read prior to downloading it is taking a ridiculous amount. I waited longer than 30 minutes and I finally gave up to come here. Please fix this, I am not going to uninstall in hopes this is just a glitch.

I know it says the first load-up takes longer than the rest but I've waited for about 30 minutes and nothing has happened. Somehow I doubt it's supposed to take this long.

If you can get it to start the first time it is an absolutely amazing experience. If the app isn't working for you I recommend their website because you definitely need to play this game

The best thing on this earth. Thanks for giving my 3rd brain a chance and a happy creative place to get lost in the sauce in.

It's been abandoned.

The game is fantastic, but the mobile app is so finicky it kills it. Sometimes you lose progress even if you sync before closing. Sometimes it takes an action for a choice but doesn't actually record the result, resulting in an endless loop. It's really terrible and a shame because it would be a no brainer 5 star review otherwise. I might even subscribe and pay if the mobile app actually worked.

Oh my God I love this game but the app is AWFUL I keep having problems with syncing and it tends to log me out, it's awfully frustrating esp. because I don't have a a PC to play from a browser. In the game's boards many people have praised FL's support team but a great deal of people have been having issues with the app for a long time and I'm sad to say that apparently they haven't given it a second thought.

i previously wrote a review stating broken issues it had where my progress wouldn't be saved, that is no longer an issue and i am happily playing this daily, i just wish i had more actions or they filled quicker. and usually i have to completely close the game and restart it for it to give me actions when i should have them i guess it needs to sync to update that

I LOVE this game, but don't play it mobile. This app is horrendously glitchy, and often doesn't sync properly. I've had a number of times where the app freezes or gets indefinitely hung up in loading. This is a poor way to experience the game. Google either "Fallen London" or "Echo Bazaar" (same thing will come up) and play this in a browser.

The game is great in many aspects and is very satisfying for a fan of interactive fiction gamebooks. The writing and choices are well done. But 1) the loading time is too much after each choice (2) It becomes kind of repetitive in making the same choices to gain progress(3) Character sync seems to hang and stop further play . It deserves a 5 star for all the work put in but please solve these issues BUT OVERALL ITS A GREAT GAME , A MUST TO PLAY

I loved this game on the iPhone an browser, but when I moved to android last July I was sad to see Fallen London not yet on the Google Play Store. I was delighted to see that is was ported recently and downloaded it. So far, no issues I've seen that are too bad and my experience has been just as well as the iPhone and browser. Good to see you again, Delicious Friend.

I do love Fallen London; it's fantastically quirky and enjoyable, but the fact that it's very glitchy and won't sync properly 70% of the time is incredibly infuriating. I keep losing all my progress because the game won't sync. I'm probably going to end up deleting it until stability improvements are made.

The app is downloading the "latest images" for the past 6h or so. It's insane for a text based game. The browser based version is faster to load, but mobile is more convenient. Coupled with 20 actions limit and 10 min per action the long time required to open this app makes the game unplayable.

As a game, Fallen London is excellent. Its charmingly written and often delivers where other sandbox rpgs fall flat. It is full of intrigue, mystery and full of deliciously eccentric and eclectic characters and stories. As an app, however, it can be unbearable at times. Sync fails, deleted messages reappear, the whole New Content Carousel mean that progress vanishes and the game can become utterly unplayable. It seems to be getting worse, as well. Melancholy is rising...

I wish I could rate 5 stars cause the game itself is worth it but the # of bugs/glitches (from sync not actually syncing progress and having to replay what I just did to game not even loading up and stuck "installing" even though it's already installed and update) I've encountered has lowered the rating for this game. I'd rate this 4 stars but it happened not a few times BUT NUMEROUS times. I discovered this game on mobile before pc so I'll stick with it but it's tiring to see these problems happening time and time again :(

It's good. The grind seems daunting, but it can be done. Don't worry about echoes, focus on your traits. Unfortunately, the synchronization process was unreliable and now simply does not work for me, even though my internet connection is good. Not a fan of being stuck in a Groundhog Day loop. It also gives you the option to Continue even though it hasn't synced instead of actually syncing. Annoying and misleading for those in a rush.

Was only able to play once. The app was a little glitchy, but for the most part fine. Some sort of update though has prevented me from playing again. Approx 6 hrs of downloading images and it's only at 50%. A shame because the browser version is so much fun.

I'd rate this game a lot higher normally. It's text-based, story-rich, oozing with mood and secrets to discover. What it also has, unfortunately, are terminally long loading times. For a text-based game, this has no business taking over twenty minuted to load the second time I opened it. I accept that it has a stamina-like pool from which the player can take actions, and that early activities will often fail, necessitating repeated attempts that draw from that limited stamina. I'm not even criticizing the microtransactions, since the game is free to download and play. Again, it's a novel concept executed with loving detail, but it takes far too long to open it!

I love fallen london, i really do. But this app is broken. If i have to close it, i have to delete and reinstall the entire app to get it working again, and even then it is a 50/50 shot as to whether ot not it'll actually work. Ive been trying to play it mobile for about 2 days at this point and I'm done. I was looking forward to taking one of my favorite browser games and being able to progress at work or while on the road, but with this app it is nearly impossible. So my recommendation? Ignore this app, play the game on your browser.

Ren. F. Jan 7, 2018

Out of nowhere the game logged me out and won't let me log back in. I've had the sync be out of date and because of it lost progress a bunch of times. The game is really unique and well written, but now I'm likely going to have to start over and not have access to unspent fate :( Would be 5 stars otherwise!

Jam. E. Aug 2, 2017

I've played this game in a web browser and found it to be an enjoyable game. Unfortunately I can't get past the registration screen on the mobile version. Should Failbetter resolve their programming bugs, I'll give Fallen London a higher rating. Until then delicious friend...

Sco. V. May 30, 2017

Might be the greatest mobile game of all time, but I'll never know because is impossible to get past the first loading screen. The only writing I've experienced in this game is "checking for content updates." This game is not playable. Give it a miss.

Dar. Z. Jan 6, 2018

Love the browser version, but this is horrendous. Do asset updates through play stores, not every time game is opened. And even that would be fine if it worked, for many players, myself included, it gets stuck in loading. UI is pretty intuitive largely, but I couldn't figure out how to record a journal entry. The game is slow in general, just loading for a long time and similar, which I don't get the reason for given that we aren't waiting for the server, as is with the browser. Please improve this, I'd really enjoy a quality app for this. Art is superb, effort put into it is obvious, but perhaps brush over the technical side as well.

The game itself gets 6 stars, but the app isn't that good. Since you're retiring the app soon, I'm writing this review to say you do a great job and hope you'll do a better job with the mobile ports of Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies. P.S. the music is great, glad it's on bandcamp.
