The idea of this App seems good. I think we will enjoy it. We are within the 3 day trial and have had to contact customer support up to 2 times to troubleshoot some things. But they have been easy to work with and helpful each time.
ITS A SCAM APP! APP NEVER WORKED ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMSWITH IT. ( had it for a year tho). App auto renewed. I contacted family time to be refunded. They said they would refund me. I waited a week for my refund. ( never received it)I called a week later. They said there machines were done. It's been 2 months now and still no refund! Now I had to get the BBB involved. I would give them 0 stars if I had the option. Don't waste your money on this app. Try net nanny instead!
It's fine when it works, support is easily accessible but once you breach basic first line support there doesn't seem to be a relevant escalation path when you've exhausted 'switch it off and on again'. There's also no way of overriding the parental control either on the child's device, sometimes you need local override. Also the recommended version of the app is external to the Play Store, so you'll need to trust an apk which bypasses Plays security features.
I paid for subscription but app didn't work. I tried on multiple Android devices - 2 parent phones and 1 client app on child's phone. Connection was established successfully but app didn't work. I initially got some data - one-sided conversations in txt messaging but that stopped all together after a few days. I opened multiple in-app tickets for help, each ticket would be closed before any resolution was found
I really like the app, because its easy to manage from my Phone, And amazing can be used, on Android, as Apple system, don't need separate parental controls. Good app been using it for over two years
A borderline scam. I paid $30 for their service, to find out if wouldn't work for some reason between my son's phone and mine. Their support couldn't figure it out so I had to cancel the service. However, they refused to issue a refund because I got a promotional rate, that is the always price. Now a year later, I get charged again to renew somehow. They have no phone numbers to give as it's all through email. Save yourself the time and money.
The review is edited after using the app for around one month. The app doesn't worth buying. There are many limitations on controlling Iphone devices, such as controlling apps individually, setting up screen time for the device, setting up time for individual apps and some other features. I had used the family link app with android devices, it is much much advanced where you have full control of your kids device.
Rick Foster provided great online support. I had trouble pairing my child's device. The first rep I chatted with sent me a link to a YouTube video on how to pair devices. I followed the directions and it still wouldn't sync. I'm not sure if the problem was due to controlling an apple device using an android but I ended up canceling.
Great chat support, very happy! I have had to use support twice and both times they were very helpful and quick.
It uses a lot of data when wifi is not available, this costing parents money! It shortens phone battery life extremely! Safe internet browsing is currently not available and that is one of the main reasons that I need this app! Child's phone has many problems since this app was installed (slow or not responding). The only thing I'm happy with is the time scheduling and app limiting. When asked for a refund, they just ignore the question. DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP!
Its now the second time we struggle to get this paid for App to work. All of a sudden it is not blocking anything on childs device. Have done what support told us. Terrible App. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!
Nice app, used for 2+ years. Very helpful support. During that time changed few times devices and managed to run app for parent and kids.
Edited: It was great at 1st, I experience great customer service the 1st time I use the live chat. The 2nd time I use the live chat the person ended the chat abruptly after sending me a link. The Apple's getting stuck on one page write where it says my daughter's device is enrolled and it's no longer moving forward. It's extremely frustrating I decided to let go of the entire app altogether.
Doesn't Work Correctly It sends me daily notices asking me to release permission for my daughter's phone to use Accessibility function as if I have it blocked even though it's a vital function of her phone. It's not blocked and it's never been blocked. Also, her phones features are randomly blocked even though I've turned off all FamilyTime controls because we had so many issues with her phone not working yet it still is controlling her phone.
If I could leave 0 starts, I would. This app is HORRIBLE. Never works correctly. There's an "update" available constantly, but in order to "update" the child's device, you have to uninstall and then reinstall and do a whole new profile for them. They lose any of the :fun time" they have because of it. The app doesn't show my kiddos texts like it should, the internet schedule doesn't work properly and since the most recent "update" the phone won't lock when it's supposed to or even if I "pause".
Useless. Doesn't work most of the time. Reinstalled multiple times on multiple devices. The screen time not accurate, no blocking of device based on schedule, reports inaccurate and not real... Worst app ever.money out the window.
The support will answer your question but it does not help solve the sync issue. I had to reinstall twice and got the same issues. The app does not sync unless you manually do it from the child phone everyday. this is a big issue. Don't buy this app. Look for something that works better. May have to spend more money but you get what you pay for.
This app says it has a three day free trial, it took the money straight out of my account and says I had two subscriptions. That makes no sense on why I have two. It also is marketed to run on kindle and it won't. They basically stole my money and I've argued with them for 4 days and it's always the same response. You had two subscriptions. Dont use this app, they are thieves.
I wanted this app to work. I installed it months ago, and at first it seemed ok. But then the problems started multiplying. My son's tablet locks at random times that have nothing to do with the schedule I have set. I have had to unlock it manually on his device for him to do his homework. The last straw though was today when I got a panic alert from my older son's phone. It was an alert that I had triggered to test it many months ago. I know it wasn't new, b/c I deleted the app from his phone.
I'm not receiving any of my child's phone calls made, text messages, or apps used. Very disappointed thus far.
Overall, good app. I reached out to customer support a few times with random questions. They were very responsive each time and helped resolve my questions quickly and easily.
Great app! Really works great for middle schoolers who need just limits, not invasion of privacy. Tech support is fabulous too! Sara Jones helped me with a set up issue, and was super prompt, polite and professional. Thanks for a great app and even better employees!
I can't actually review the app yet since I just got it.I didn't realize I signed up through google and got charged $13.99. contacted chat since the website states it is under 2 bucks per month. I got a response within seconds.Rick explained. Within a minute, he canceled the 15 device plan and refunded me the 13.99.He sent me a link directly to sign up for the proper plan, with a discount.Sign up through their website. But customer service gets 5 stars. If you have a problem, Chat will solve it!
Rick did a great job helping me with reinstall our apps. So far things are working great!
Above the rest. We have tried Norton and MMGaurdian. This is a phenomenal program they have. Easy to set and easy to manage. Also they have tutorials that walk you through everything. Also! Bonus! Their customer service responds quickly. Thanks Sara for helping us out.
