While starting from daydream inside the daydream view headset only showed me a 2D image (with the daydream controller working fully) and would not turn. I am using a one plus 3 modified to work with daydream (works for every other game I've tried) but still nothing
Great graphics just now started it. So I haven't done much, but by far the best 3d game on Google daydream I've played so far.
Very cool app. I just wish there was more to it than just 3 beasts and 1-3 spells each. As far as VR apps go tho, it's very well programmed and fits perfectly with the movie.
For a free game I think there is a fair amount to do (I would pay for an extended version) and the game ties in very well with the film. I enjoyed it and hopefully there will be more added to it soon.
it's great demo of daydream power but it's really short to play through all 3 creatures.
Only loads a sparkle around the pointer so it sorta looks like a wand on a black background. That's it. No game, no graphics, nothing. Something must be broken.
It's not bad, but only takes about 30 minutes to get through all of the content.
Update: Not compatible with LineageOS, while many other Daydream apps are. Not fully your fault, true, but will give 5 stars if fixed.
Erm, seems exactly what is was built to be. Promotional material for the movie. It was incredibly short. 20 minutes, I assume? I don't see the point in continuing cause it was a one time experience and it was a good experience. Goodbye for now.
This could be so much more than just a promotional tie-in, but unfortunately the developers stopped caring the minute the film was out of theaters.
After the last daydream update it no longer works, black space and no graphics.
There is barely anything. What is there is cool, but only about 10 minutes of "gameplay" I was highly disappointed.
Visually awesome.. it's a shame it's extremely short!! Only 10 minutes and you are done. No replay value either. Other than to show off to other people.
Needs some more magic and creatures.
Limited but really awesome for what it is. A great into to the possibilities of VR.
Very cool game, just wish there was more to it.
Great app. Can't wait to show it to my nieces.
Very much feels untested and incomplete. You can't tilt your head, things are FAR too close, and it's by far the slowest to do anything (and drops the most frames) of any daydream app so far. They even uploaded the left/right eye images backwards in the in-vr app store!
My daughter and I played this as the first game on our Daydream headset with a Nexus 6P and we thought it looked amazing but it played a little clunky. We attributed this to the fact that the 6P isn't supposed to be Daydream capable but we used some work around to try it. Overall the game is a great entry game into VR and it is completely free. Its basicall a free 30 minutes of content with no strings attached. Not sure what there is to complain about!
As a long time Harry Potter fan I was so excited when my Moto Z Droid was announced as Daydream Ready. This was one of the first games I played and was gravely disappointed that the frame rate was making it difficult to look around once I was in the workshop area. What's worse was when I opened the map and selected a beast, the app closed out to my phone's menu. I will re-rate when these issues are addressed. I really wanted to play this one, especially after seeing the movie!
It feels like they spent a lot more time on the visuals than the controls and content. The wand motions are choppy and difficult to accomplish correctly, and the whole app is over and done with before it's barely begun. It needs some more work, but at least its free.
Really bad frame rate. Works fine when not moving your head, but as soon as you start to move your head and look around, it gets really jittery and causes minor motion sickness. Needs some serious optimization to smooth out the video. *Using Moto Z Force.
I look forward to playing this more in the future when they add more. You can get through the content of this in about 15 minutes. Everything is beautiful and immersive. It is an excellent preview of what to come, but it is no complete game.
There is not a lot of content, but what content is there is really well done. If you're a fan of Harry Potter or fantasy there is a good chance you'll like this app.
I like Harry Potter as much as any other average fan, but there was nothing to this. Only a child would be impressed by this "game." Sure, it's pretty, but that's all its got going for it.
Great teaser. It has a great first person VR experience and I understand why it was in all of the Daydream previews and demos, but calling it a game is like calling pigeon an eagle. It has the elements and potential of a game, but it's over as soon as the tutorial part ends. Where the actual game usually starts...
The game was really immersive, really feels like your in the Harry potter universe. Only criticism is the length of the experience, absolute maximum is 15 mins of play time
This is the first game I've played all the way through on the Daydream VR and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I found the graphics were fantastic with plenty of nifty things to look at in game. I had a lot of fun playing through the content, although I did find it was a little bit short. *sad face* Hoping the creators decide to develop more content in the future. 4.5 Stars!
