Has the potential to be a great game. Graphics and music are good and puzzles are interesting but the amount of points it takes to earn a star, and the amount of times you have to replay scenes is frankly ridiculous. Would love to continue playing, but having to replay scenes 3-4 times to earn 2000000 points with out spending money has me over it. Plus the energy cost for each scene is too high, should be half of what it currently takes.

It's a decent game but could be better. It takes too long to earn back energy, you only gain partial energy when you level up (you should gain full energy), and if you go back to previous cases to complete more stars, they dont carry over to your current case. So it takes way too long to get the stars needed to just continue with the game. It's annoying to only play for 5 minutes and then have to wait several hours for full energy. It's getting old.

It's a really fun and addicting game and I love the game play, except it takes 20 energy per scene and you only get 110 energy total. You basically get to play for maybe 5 minutes before being forced to wait hours for your energy to restore. Not to mention wait time on whatever evidence you find. It's really a bummer that it requires so much energy. 5 or even 10 energy would make more sense, as well as making it easier to earn what you need for the cases you are trying to solve.

The game is great but the same level has used my energy twice and then just loaded me to the previous screen from before without letting me do the level. This is an inconvenience so please fix this problem. Also I think you guys should allow people to watch ads for extra energy for those who have the patience to do so. I would give it 5 stars except I've noticed you guys have done nothing about when the game resets to the main screen after energy is used. This is my 3rd edit and it's happened at least 4 more times, please fix this issue and you can have your 5th star.

This game is so amazing! I really loved it. I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter. I've read and watched every movie and every book, I collect items and memorized spells, so when I encountered this game, it was just another way for me to show my love, the first case worked and was great. I can't fault the graphics, the gameplay, it's phenomenal however after cracking the case, it's preventing me from moving on and downloading the next case. It says It's a WiFi issue about a million times. It's so sad..

Not a bad game, but you need 20 energy points to do a single search, and it doles out energy very sparingly. You did a great job on a task, have 2 energy points! Or you can wait until energy is recharged, and have just enough energy points to do 5 searches before you're at a standstill again. I'd play a lot more if the game didn't make it impossible to play for more than a few minutes at a time.

Interesting game to play, I love the beasts being incorporated - it's very well done. I just wish you didn't run out of energy so quickly - you end up only being able to play for a few scenes and then you have to wait again. This becomes more problematic as the required points per star increases because you have to play that scene multiple times to get the star. Sometimes this results in not being able to even finish one task before you run out of energy.

Good game. Fun story, good graphics, good amount of content. Facebook connections with friends who also play the game tend to bug out so at some point you can't really send and receive or gift energy anymore. Mini games are ok, just a lot of swiping. The best is the actual puzzle. Unbalanced upgrade/coin collection and leveling system. Ideally, a person should reach Max level and Max upgrades shortly after finishing the game and all of its bonus content, but it's only enough to get you about halfway there. And ideally, coin and xp gains would be about even so that you can afford upgrades shortly after you level up enough to unlock then, but coin generation is the slowest part of the game and can't even be realistically purchased to make up for it. But it's only really a bother if you like completing games. More details below. Seems the max level is 50 based on the last required level to purchase the last upgrade, I finished all of the cases at around level 25 or so, with four level eligible upgrades I could not afford (certain upgrades require a minimum xp level to purchase). A level when you do really well toward the end of the game gives about 50xp and 300 coins (St Oswald's bonus seems easiest to get these scores for me, numbers based on that). The upgrades get more expensive as they progress, 25,000 coins and up. Xp 6,000ish and increasing as well. So you level slowly, compared to what you need to spend you gain coins even more slowly, and by the time you're out of new content you're less than half maxed out. I got all the beast quests and all the stars (and all the high scores but that doesn't count for anything really) except for one last beast quest: reach level 30. I completed all of that content by level 27. So if I wanted to play it to completion, I'd need to farm to 30 (maybe two and a half days of the same level again and again, since it only costs 5 energy for St Oswald's after you get the gold level beast quests) to get the last beast quest, then to level 50, and more than likely need to keep farming after 50 because if the pattern holds I will be short the coins for 4-5 upgrades. Potion ingredients are annoying, they don't drop at the same rate so my crafting screen has a few hundred of one ingredient, fifty of another, and zero of the final one. I can't even buy potion ingredients to make use of that loot, it's just never going to be useful. I can buy whole potions though. Which brings me to the store system. It's the basic IAP set up where you need to wait for energy to play the game at all and you can refill that energy for premium currency. Annoying, just let me play something, but whatever, it's part of how they make the app ad free, some people want to pay to play more. You can also use that currency to buy potions. What you can't do: buy coins. Except for the ministry bundle which only sells 250 coins for something like 500 gems as part of a package with energy and potions. So even if I wanted to make up my coin deficit with real money, it would be impossibly expensive. I'm a person that likes to complete games, so the unbalanced leveling and coin gains really bothers me. I'm not sure I will farm past level 30 to get my final case complete. Overall, fun game, I'm not sure if more cases will be released in the future, but I'd like them to be. Just needed a little tweaking in the loot tables and the xp gains. Honestly less complex would be better. Between coins, gems, xp, and potion ingredients there's too many elements for randomized loot tables. Eliminate potion crafting, and bring xp and gold to reliably even footing, and cut the level cap or double the xp gains.

Overall the game is good... Good story & scenes. I find it a bit frustrating that it takes so long to earn the stars needed to carry out the tasks & to buy energy is much more expensive than it should be. It would also be nice if the stars would be available between cases... I have 6 stars available on case 1 that I can't use on case 2 😕

Great game keeps you interested whilst doing various puzzles and changing the items to be found. Know I'm up against the clock, like how you give hints when stuck. Good exercise for the memory. Could do with a puzzle game( like a match three) to be able to earn some more energy glow balls, it would make the game more addicted. Just a suggestion..

Good game but bad economy. This game looks very well, every fan of HP and the genre could like it. But the economy is awful, you need stars to progress in the cases and to get stars you need to complete the scenes several times. The problem is that each play costs 20 energy, so you can play for like 10 minutes and then have to put the game away or pay 50 crystals for just 20 more energy. This is where disappointment hits you. Could have been a Permanent game in my collection.

Love it and disappointment for not being updated. We fell in love with it but when we tried to go to the next level... there's no next. I heard the programmers just paused it. When the game is back on hopefully then I'll download it and continue the adventure. 5 stars because it was good until they gave it a break, which, I should have given a 1 star for pressing that pause button.

Wouldn't recommend this game to anyone, even my worst enemy. Ridiculous wait times for consultations with other wizards that are only there to try to get you to spend money to speed them up. Same with the wait time for energy. And it's not even a fun game! Just an endless repetition of searching the same scenes over and over to get pointlessly crafted little stars because you can't advance without them.

I loved this game until yesterday when I was collecting my daily reward and an in-game notification popped up saying I had the ability to make potions now. That's great but it popped up with a hand pointing to the bottom of the screen and unfortunately there is nothing there to select and no way to clear the message. So now it's unplayable. Its a shame bc I waited until I got a new phone to play it. 3.6.2020 STILL NOT WORKING

When I first opened the game, it took permission to the device's storage, media etc. But as soon as l entered my age(10 years),it will say that the game is not available now. I restarted the game but the situation did not get any better. Finally, l reinstalled the app. Still no improvement. So, I have deleted it for good. Thanks for wasting my time on this game😡. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is far better than Fantastic Beasts: Cases.

Loving the game but it would be nice if some tasks didn't take 12 hours to complete, unless I pay money for the gems to speed it up. I find myself only filling 5 mins of time playing because now I have to wait 12 hours to unlock a new task. I would play a lot more often if this wasn't the case. Seriously loving the gameplay and graphics though. Wish I could play more often..

Jes. S. Dec 12, 2018

Love the game. But would like to know if there's going to be more cases. I'm not even close to maxing out my level but it shows there's only 2 cases left to unlock. Would be disappointed if I "beat" the game before I have all the upgrades... also, people who complain about the energy part are ridiculous. It's a free game with no ads...

L. P. Jan 17, 2019

The game is fun & easy to understand...BUT it costs 20 in energy per scene search, & you have to search the scenes multiple times in order to gain a star. Each task to andvance in the game takes at least one star. This makes the gameplay pace too slow because your energy bar can easily drain before you even get a star making it tedious to accomplish anything significant

I don't get why people are happy about this game .. yes the graphic is good and the music is amazing but it's just a nother criminal scene game with a touch of Harry Potter world in it! So nothing new here and that's why I give it 2 stars .. the problem with the game is that It takes Too Much time to finish up the case and they want too much money to speed things up and buy energy and speed other things that takes - for example -12 hours and that was in my first play!! and finishing one star in a scene to unlock something in the case is a hard work and a waste of time.. like Come On!! even if I have that much money to spend on one game I wouldn't do ..it's ridiculous !! such a shame really .. I love Harry Potter and fantastic beast

Great background music and sound effects, beautiful artwork, fun gameplay, interesting storylines, but I hate all the timegates. I wish there was a way to purchase several cases at a time to play through for a flat fee instead of all the separate microtransactions for gems, energy, and potion ingredients.

It's pretty fun for a search and find game. Some of the items are really hard to see or not what you'd expect them to look like, but you repeat the same scenes over and over again so you eventually figure out what to look for. Timing is important, so don't forget your playing while watching TV 😅 I like the Harry Potter/ Fantastic Beasts theme.

A. G. u. Feb 26, 2019

Good but very repetitive, you can't carry stars over through each scene. Upgrades are slow and steady, bit of a grind to get them. Energy runs out quick so this is a 5 min grab and go game as thats how much game play you get each day. overall: disappointed and expected more. No magic. No interaction with beasts. No amazing suitcase. Good points: good inclusion of beasts.
