it works well for those that just want a template to work with. But being able to costumize it a bit more would be nice. If possible, I think it would also help to have some of the terrain options to mess with after the map is generated, for a lot of people that don't know much about cartography, we don't neccissarily know how all the options effect things. Finding the correct SEED to generate is also a hassle for specific designs, a way of altering this while working could also be quite helpful
It's great, all it's missing is guaranteed contents and islands. Other than that it's great. I have no issue cropping out the good parts and placing them in a drawing app to forge a world. That's the only reason for my want of the guaranteed things. Love this app.
Ok, 3 main complaints. 1. Controls are pretty difficult to use and don't feel natural for a creation app. 2. You can't do much to edit each map which limits the amount you can do with this. 3. There are a few bugs and glitches, mostly with saving maps. Overall, cool concept handled poorly.
Love the idea if this app but way to many problems such as runs very slow, takes for ever to move one of the bars over one notch, can't change the name when trying to save and also for trying to save every time you try to save I force closes the app and does not save the world that was generated. If a lot of these problems where addressed this app could have a lot of potential in various ways.
I really like this app. It would make a great starting tool for any kind of map building but I wish it had some better editing features post-map creation, like being able to adjust country borders or a way to change the names of countries and towns. Overall great app though.
It's a great app for making maps, but even if I save the map I can't find the image anywhere on my phone. My rating of the app will change once I am able to actually save maps to my phone gallery, but untill then 👎
Does not work. It gives you a variety of options, but whenever I try to edit them it results in the world turning to a single biome. Once I managed to figure this out, I set the settings to default and the generation froze up because it actually had to do something. It ended up taking 5 minutes to generate a 250x250 mess of pixels that resembles a child scribbling on a piece of paper. With the ad at the bottom, this is clearly a cheap attempt of a cash grab, dont gratify them.
Wonderful app, if a little slow to generate the maps (though that could be my tablet). I like the different draw options. The temperature option is really useful. On the UI front, some of the selection bars are slow to respond (again, could be the tablet). Maybe pulldown menus could be used instead? Also the ability to generate larger maps (say up to 2048x2048) would be excellent.
Very good for random designs, and has a wide range of options and, however you can't make your own land mass as the entire map is random. You have absolutely no control over the names of cities/landmarks or where they are located.
WHERE IS THE MAP???? I would love to be able to use the .png images. I know it is supposedly storing them to the FMM Worlds folder, but for the life of me, I cannot find this anywhere on my chromebook. If only this app had proper instructions attached to it. It is well created in what it does and then very poorly executed in regards to instructions and how to make use of the generated maps. It's like the dev did a good job and then didn't want anyone to actually use it.
Alright so. The concept and idea of this app is amazing and I'm leaving this review so hopefully maybe the creator will revamp. I love this in theory. However the controls and GUI are a little lack luster, I've found issues saving the files and it overall needs to be touched up. I do hope in future thisll be updated ^-^
Actually, this app isn't bad. You take the picture, edit with another app to look and say what you want. Or create a map key for it and boom, done. I don't mind having to put in the extra work for a customized map.
Has a lot of unrealized potential. Hitting reset doesn't do anything. I set it for no cities but the same word pops up in the middle of the map like a city or place name. This will work in a pinch, but it could be so much more
Takes forever to get a map that isnt small islands. Also please add more customizability as it is very hard to find something good. Alot of people dont want a single template, okay I guess.
it's good for making a quick map, but when it comes to customizing anything, just as adding bodies of water, moving or naming cities... it's pretty useless and annoying
Random options are fine but it'd be more useful to allow actual drawing of shapes and placement of rivers/mountains, etc. This is just another generator, not a map maker/editor. No custom maps here.
IT breaks! I used it a few times and it worked fine until for some reason it would just be a red blob as a map with no features or seperations of countries.
Ok so I give it 3 stars because it works but I wish you could edit names of countries and cities directly and also when I try to save it where do I see where it is saved too like if somebody knows please help me with that part everybody is complaining about the controls being a lil funky but its functional and no other apps I have found are like this so great start
Can produce some very nice maps, but kind of finicky, it wouldn't let me rename labels or reset settings to default at all, but aside from that it works pretty nicely.
I love it. You have to play with it a little bit, but one you read everything they have provided it truly is a great tool that you can build around. Could this app use a little more sure maybe a legend but with options already available you can use your brain and make up what's not here. I hope that this app will keep updating and expanding. I will be using this for a long time to come. Thank you
It's really great for worldbuilding. You can't draw or edit it, keep in mind, but If you're looking for something to give you a totally random world for your stories or DnD campaign or whatever, this is it. I would recommend a key for the biomes tho
It's a good generator. If I hadn't already hand drawn my world I would have loved the heck out of this. There are a few things that could help with the customization such as being able to edit it post creation.
It has good bones. But what I think it needs is a bit more customizability, as other reviews have stated. If you could input custom names that would make things infinitely better in my opinion.
It's really good, the maps most of the time are amazingly generated. But what ruins it for me is that I'm never able to download the image.
Very good for making super detailed maps with alot of customization, but the ability to rename landmasses, cities, and capitals is a bit weird.
Really helpful for getting ideas for maps and looks realistic. All I could ask for is a larger map size than 512-512, and maybe the ablity guarentee at least 2 continents.
Im not sure how I feel about this one. I mean there is no rhyme or reason to where it places the towns and stuff but if your looking for a quick map just to throw some ideas of gameplay into then this is quite a good one
You just could only load terrain and look at it. I wish that you could customize the land. Other from that, it is good.
Really cool concept, but not executed well. Makes cool maps, but hopefully you like the looks of everything. Makes well marked cities and such, but hopefully you like the names of everything, because, much like the landmasses, you can't change anything. The features for the map are really cool, but I'd love to be able to customize everything to my liking. As for right now, it leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't really make much worthwhile if you already came up with names.
