The app is ok, it needs more features such as being able to write notes on the pages. On the highlight function it needs improvement like being able to jump to highlighted areas on one click or tap. For example if I highlight 3 items in one section, by topping or clicking you can jump to the next highlighted text, after all, that is the purpose of highlighting item on the book is for. Kudos to the developer, over all the apps is great and I am willing to pay a little more for enhancements.
The app is great I really like, a must have for a professional pilot. I saw that is missing the pilot/controller glossary, the NASA report general form, and the index. The index makes it easier to locate specific information (even easier than the search bar because sometimes you don't know the specific terms).
This is so much better than using a paper FAR/AIM. Especially when running a quick search for something specific. I do wish you could highlight Part and Subpart Titles rather than just the words contained within those parts.
Great to have this in digital and way worth the price, but can we get some of the bugs worked out like the highlighting not working?!
My one complaint is the search function is quite limited but this is better than carrying around a book that gets outdated quickly.
Fast and easy. Great arrangement
Love the way it makes it easy to study.
Sloppy programming. How do I unhighlight? Why are the hyperlinks all broken??
Better than but similar to a poke in the eye
Can't believe the low rating of this app, must be NUGITs who are too ignorant of how to use it.
61.57 information is not as shown on the asa far/aim 2019
91.225 should be in the study by Private certificate.
Highlights and bookmarks are the same thing. Bookmark list is getting cluttered. Study indices are leaving things out. Just as well may download the PDFs from the FAA. Acrobat has better hilighting and bookmarking. Not much of a value-add here.
Doesn't include all the sections of the print far aim. Instrument/CFII study by section was missing Class C operations in it's list, but had class D and B... I keep finding minor, but meaningful errors.
This is pretty much useless. The older version was much better.
Adding my voice to those that complain that this app is out of date. It's imperative that pilots have the latest changes from the FAA in the FAR/AIM and the lack of updates makes this app so but useless. I may as well just buy the softcover doorstop from Amazon. (Which this app was supposed to obviate.) Very disappointed in ASA.
Got the app last yeat, only update I received was Aug 2016, nothing since then. I know there have been numerous updates since which I confirmed by referencing the book. I see other users have same issue so good to know I am not the only one. ASA needs to keep on top of this. If they charge money for something that is a free publication really, might as well make sure you keep it up to date. Not sure I would recommend this app. Not bad, but with out of date material makes it an iffy for me. absolutely great resource for up to the minute on FARAIM: ecfr.gov
It gets me by. It has more regs than the paper book and that is nice. It doesn't have a great search feature. More than 2 word queries don't work very often.
I did not get an update since August 2016, can someone help
No updates yet... search function is primitive.
Where's part 45?
This app is greate. But it would be better, if I could rename my bookmarks and make categories to find my bookmarks easier. I.e. looking up private pilot regs in my category "private" and find all my bookmarks concerning the private pilot.
Updated to match changes, chapters and sections are clearly labeled. Makes digging through it more enjoyable rather than a chore. Continuous read function would be nice but it's rare that you're just reading through it
Needs to be easy to move from one section to another without backing up. I suggest left or right swiping. Also, the display font needs to be resizeable via pinch-zoom.
What a great alternative to the paper version! Excellent. Just needs a little polish on the transition to other sections and the night/ reading toggle switch
App needs the ability to read an entire part or chapter of the AIM continually. Instead, you can only read 91.120, then back up and select 91.121, then back up and select 91.122, etc etc. This makes it very hard to just read continually. But for just looking up a single reg, one at a time, it works well
Very useful! No more carrying a paper copy.
I can't highlight things on my phone or tablet, and have them cross-synchronize. That would make this app invaluable. I usually buy a paper copy each year just to transfer my highlights over from year to year. The search function tends to bring back an overwhelming amount of results, if there were a way to narrow down which section it's searching, that, and the highlight cross-device syncing would bring it to 4 or 5 stars for me.
