An absolutely indispensable, must-have app for any rideshare driver. I have been with FarePilot since their inception and LOVE it. Their historical data points have only improved. And their listing of events - with a color-coded tool that predicts the level of demand - has made my job infinitely easier. Thank you!
This app uses predictive analysis to basically guess where the so-called "hotspots" are instead of any sort of real-time data where requests are actually happening (which would be helpful obviously) also they send requests for feedback and then say there's nothing they can do to fix the problems you point out (other issues like cross-border confusion which probably wasn't worth their time to address or whatever) this app is a good idea, but needs different data and new staff to execute properly.
after trying the app many times over the past two months i have decided to change and edit my first response to your app. the events page as become more round and offers better choices of venues in many areas in the sacramento region. well done folks. however, i have found the app for catching more rides has not improved. i am not sure why. it just is. so, now i use the app for the events and where not to be inside the bubble zones. i'm sorry folks i can only give a four star at this time 😐
Doesn't work. It gives 3 random circles to go to. Different circles each time you refresh. edit: let me elaborate. it shows me 3 random hot spots in my city where they dont even have uber. and it shows the generic message that I will get a ride in 15 mins. it doesn't work. there is no historical data and there is no live data. there is no one requesting rides in my city. becuz that service is not available in my city. so why is it showing me these hot spots.
My initial review and rating was negative and one star. I decided to redownload the app and give it another chance. It seems that it works better in some areas than others and a ride within 15 minutes is NOT guaranteed. The events tab gave me a huge advantage as I was able to anticipate when and where people would need rides, based on events beginning and ending.
just started using FarePilot and it is the perfect app. user friendly and loaded with real time information and updates. I would recommend to any driver looking for an advantage. Be in the right place at the right time with FarePilot.
Tried tested failed! It's supposed to connect you to more riders and so called hot spots. It told me that a freeway intersection in the middle of a field was a hotspot. It told me that a mall was a hotspot, yet I got zero rides over a 30 minute period. Your app is trash and not even worthy of the time it takes to type this.
Love this app! It would be nice if you could list people arriving and departing at the airport at any given time in my city. Also, it would be beneficial to see notifications for events and traffic alerts in my city. Thanks.
I love this app! If I'm unfamiliar with an area, which happens since I just moved to Arizona, I can trust this app to show me where to go to pick up fares. It's really consistent, in that I almost always get a fare when I arrive at a hotspot. Thanks for all your hard work!
Worst app ever, send you to places that aren't even populated, by the time you get to a hotspot, IF it manages to give directions, the fare is already gone. Lyft fares are picked up very quickly, this app does nothing but waste time and gas.
I think it does an okay job of giving you ideas of where you might get hits for fares. if you use it as a tool to help you make the decision where you should park for your next fare, when it's slow. then this is a good app.
complete waste of valuble time. the hotspots take you to places with low connectivity and seem completely random. i have spent entire days going from hotspot to hotspot and barely get pings. wait 15 minutes and it just tells you to refresh and go to the next. every time you refresh, the hotspot barely moves and when it does, it moves across town. deleted...
Great idea. Predictions are good but needs a bit of tweaking as they do not always give the desired results. Based only on data fed.. must consider practical aspects as well to become better.
Edited up to 3 stars. Hotspots work about 50% of time but not consistent. One thing I did to test it out was clicked find hotspot and go to the hotspot to wait. After 15 mins I moved to another HS. Soon as I got there, I tried find hotspot. My spot now changed. Waited 30 secs(timed) clicked find hotspot again. Hotspots changed. Waited 30 secs, clicked find hotspot. Rinse and repeat 6 more times (for science!) same results of hotspots changing. There's no way it should change that fast or often.
Total and complete waste of time. "Hotspots" were always in random, out of the way places and NEVER resulted in rides, period. Let alone more rides. Great idea, horrible exucution.
I like it. I don't run my whole day or night by it, but when it's slow I checkout farepilot and go where they say is busy and 3 out of 4 times I've gotten a ride within 10 minutes. 👍
Totally useless. Every time I try to use it there's no connection, no matter what my phone settings are. I always get the same error. Can't load hotspots at all.
You click on the request hotspot option and once you arrive in a "hotspot" the app will say you should get a "ping" which I'm assuming means a ride request within 15 minutes... About 90% of the time you don't get one and it tells you to request another hotspot and go there.... The other 10% of the time can probably be attributed to chance when you actually do get a ride aka this app is garbage.
Haven't seen any benefit to this app. When it shows hotspots in my area, it shows areas that I know are just empty country roads. I tried to delete my account in the app and it doesn't allow me to. It pops up a window asking if I really want to do that. But it only shows the cancel button, the other button is just a circle and does nothing. I was sceptical of the app in the first place, and now it has my information...
